I cannot say enough great things about Megan "Joy" at W Salon -- she is absolutely incredible!…read moreI've been coming to her for weekly blowouts, and I'm consistently amazed at how long they last. A full week, every single time. I've had blowouts at plenty of salons before, but no one has ever come close to the staying power Megan delivers. She clearly knows exactly what she's doing. Beyond the blowouts, she has also saved my hair after some not-so-great highlight jobs from elsewhere. She assessed the damage, knew just what to do, and brought my color back to life. It's such a relief to have someone you can truly trust with your hair. If you're looking for a stylist who is talented, reliable, and genuinely cares about her clients, book with Megan. You won't regret it!

I was able to book an appointment online which I really enjoyed. The haircut itself was a really good price for the area (only 60 dollars). The staff was friendly and listened to what I wanted. I appreciated them listening to what I wanted and not cutting my hair more than I had asked for, because that had happened at other places before. The girl who did my hair didn't talk much, but she was friendly and professional. I would probably go back when I feel like getting my hair cut again.

I read the offer from the website out loud and she was unable to show me the "fine print". Equally as disappointing was the haircut itself! The consultation was a waste of time because the stylist ignored everything I asked for in terms of layers, angles and length. She did not engage in conversation during the appointment, and never offered a glass of water. I should have trusted my instincts and walked out the door when I arrived.

As a Stamford native relying on Yelp! for somewhere new to go to for hair color, I saw the reviews…read morefor Creations by Kathleen (and the Yelp! deal) and thought why not give it a try... First off, I've passed this place over a hundred times because it is behind (and underneath) the Nagi building, and undetectable from the street. It is really well-hidden, but when you finally enter, it is absolutely charming, well-appointed and extremely comfortable. Everyone there is cheerful and friendly, immediately welcoming and attentive to everyone who enters. Kathleen did my hair and consulted with me first as to what would be best; she was thoughtful and her recommendation was exactly what I needed. Her talent is obvious as she made it the entire process seem so easy and quick; I got a full head of soft, beautiful, natural-looking highlights, and I couldn't be happier! But I watched all the other stylists, (pretty much everyone had a client while I was there) and I was uniformly impressed. I can honestly say I would be comfortable with any one of them for either color or cut if Kathleen is unavailable in the future. They all take great care in their work, their clients, the cleanliness of the salon: it's all about the details. They don't need a huge sign outside as word of mouth is obviously enough to keep them busy. It's a Stamford salon with Stamford pricing, but check out their website for specials and of course Yelp! for deals as well, especially if you're hesitant to try a new place. It was absolutely worth it for me, and now I've got an upscale salon with a hometown feel that I know I can rely on!

Foolishly gave this salon a few chances--all were bad. I had experienced sudden massive hair loss…read moreand the last cut was the final one I'll have there. The stylist repeatedly, aggressively/rudely downplayed the hair loss and severely layered my hair, even though I had said layers were going to make my already thinning hair appear worse. It has been a disaster to try to now grow out this cut that makes absolutely NO SENSE for my hair. Her rudeness and obstinate refusal to take the thinning issue into consideration were highly unprofessional. All the stylists there seem to be somewhat friendly, but are all lacking skill in cutting and communicating with clients. One seems angry all the time. Never again. I'm actually shocked they are still in business.
