We stumbled across this place years ago. Was looking for an Asian store (next door). And saw this place was packed during lunch hour. Came back for their dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Since then, we've been coming here for years. So much that she already knows our "special" orders. If by chance we decide to venture out of our comfort zone she is always surprised. Service is wonderful, if you've been there before. You get used to the help yourself, find your own table thing. Best and most authentic Thai food in Redding hands down. I like the small, quiet, family atmosphere and there's hardly ever anyone in there (which is crazy) but that makes sense considering it's a little hidden(go find it!!). The food is fresh, delicious and very consistent. None of that greasy, sweet, super Americanized Thai food. Although if that's what you are used to, there are definitely some familiar dishes that you will love. My favorites so far: duck fried rice, silver noodle salad, any of the noodle soup bowls, spicy cat fish w/ green beans, mango sticky rice (duh). I could eat here every day. read more

These wonderful sisters know how to cook. I have been enjoying the Racha Noodle for several years now and have never been disappointed. Their variety of meals and their service is wonderful .Every meal tastes great and they are cooked individually which makes them very fresh and tasty. The sisters are very sweet and friendly and keep the place clean and it's comfortable too.Their location is a little hidden away on Market St. but that's okay by me as it is more peaceful , unique and more attention for us. My only worry is that they someday could move away but I would have to follow them as they are my favorite restaurant in town. Love the spring rolls. the salad with homemade dressing, the silver noodle dish with shrimp, and the yellow curry salmon with spinach and zuchinni are just some of my favorites. I went here for dinner tonight since the next closest Thai food place, Rose Garden down the street where I normally go was closed. Unfortunately this wasn't the best experience. I waited 15-20 minutes before the only server even acknowledged that I was sitting there even after helping customers who came in after me. During this time I had to go find a menu on my own. After looking at the menu I decided on the Pad Se Eew and a Thai iced tea. When the food finally came it didn't look fresh like I'm accustomed, but none the less it still looked edible. The flavor was a bit bland but not bad, again just not well developed like some other local thai restaurants (Champa Garden and Rose Garden specifically). The tea was however very good. Upon finishing my meal again I had to track down the only server who seemed to be busy in the back. Price was fair but lack of service, very unappealing decor (dated and dirty) and somewhat mediocre flavors, I doubt I'll be going back. read more

The best kept SECRET in Redding. This place has the most authentic Thai and Viet food around. Prepared by Authentic people. Pleasent atmosphere. Kind and friendly. I was surprised to find that the Pho was really quite authentic. I read some other review that seemed to ding it for using tripe and tendon, but that's like dinging a sushi place because they don't have any cooked sushi items... The broth was quite tasty and rich, and with the exception of sliced jalapeño all the usual sides were there. I'd say it was comparable to a pretty good south bay Pho. If I were rating for food alone in would consider adding a star. I really like the food. Pros: price, Pad Thai, Cashew Nut Chicken and the basil chicken, the fresh spring rolls (seriously try these!). Nice ladies, but not very attentive considering when I went the restaurant wasn't crowded. And when we asked, we got a bowl, but nothing to carry the take-out container. I can only speak for the kow soi here as that is what my husband and I come here exclusively for. It is that good! The broth is super flavorful and perfectly spicy. Most people seem to like or hate this place. I seem to have a very lukewarm feeling about it. The food is pretty good and definitely a great value. If you're a pathological spice fiend like me, you can always find Sriracha or garlic chili paste at your disposal which is a big plus. It seems like it is a family owned and run establishment. I know they read their Yelp reviews because they print them out and stick them inside the menu. I thought that was great! As most people pointed out before me, the ambiance isn't that great. But I didn't go there for the ambiance. There are two reasons this restaurant currently does not get a higher rating from me. 1.) It is CASH ONLY - They have a sign that says that this keeps their prices down. I have run businesses with credit card transactions before. The fees you pay for cards are ridiculous. I get it. However, this is one of the only restaurants in the western hemisphere that doesn't take plastic. Restaurant owners: Cash only does not keep your prices as low as if you had higher customer demand. People don't carry cash anymore. I have to mentally prepare to go to your restaurant. I would suggest using credit cards for a few months and reevaluating your business after you make the change. I think you will see a lot more currently "would be" customers. 2.) The food, though good, and correctly portioned, could be a little more exciting. read more

Probably the only great restaurant for vegans in Redding. When I asked for a couple tofu dishes they even asked if I wanted egg in it. The women who run it are so sweet, and I like that the kitchen is open and you can look right in. Racha Noodle is a small, unadorned hole-in-the-wall that serves great Thai food with a very friendly and quick staff. I agree that the menu is unorganized with a hodgepodge of dishes randomly placed throughout, but I though it was amusing that the menu also included a printout of some of the Yelp reviews of their restaurant (Yay, someone actually read these things!) As for the food, I got the red curry w/ chicken and my mom got their ginormous bowl of pho, which is basically a bowl of hot broth and rice noodles, a choice of meat, and a little side plate of bean sprouts and lime slices. We also ordered one of their boba tea drinks. After trying some of my mom's pho, I wished I had ordered it myself. The flavors were comforting and delicious and my mom finished her bowl clean. The red curry had good flavor and came with a nice size of rice on the side, but I didn't like how thin the consistency was and the big, long strips of chicken in the curry that made it hard to eat. I also wished they gave more bamboo shoots and veggies, Everything was inexpensive (I think the curry was around $7) and the menu had a lot of dishes I would still love to try. Their boba teas are fantastic! But as for curry, I still prefer the Thai Cafe for their portion and flavor, and because nothing beats their Evil Prince, which also comes w/ an egg roll. However, Racha Noodles' still has delicious food, a warm staff, and quick service so I will definitely come back (I have my eye on that pho and fried curry puffs!) and will recommend this place to anyone willing to try something new in Redding! read more

I've only been here once, so perhaps my experience was worse than average. I was excited to have my first real Vietnamese noodles in months, and when I found out they served boba teas I was even more excited. However, even though I told my server three times I wanted a thai iced tea with pearls, he gave me an iced coffee, no pearls. Also, the food was relatively inexpensive, but I've had much better Thai and Vietnamese food. This place has always been my favorite Thai restaurant in Redding. The food has not disappoint yet and I've been coming here since they first switched owners to the nice ladies you see working there. Sure, the place could use a bit of remodeling and decor, but the food and service makes up for it. The workers here are super respectful and are always smiling. I usually order Tom Yum noodles with large noodles and occasionally their pad-sa-ew. Both very delicious and flavorful dishes. If you have a pallet for spicy foods, you can order the plate as spicy as you want, if not then simply tell them no heat, no problem. Yes, they are a dollar or two more than other Thai places in Redding, but I am usually more than willing to pay for the price for quality and great service over bland quantity and shitty service. This is definitely a diamond in the rough!! We stayed overnight in Redding on a road trip back north and I was not expecting much at all when we walked in. I was craving Thai food and figured something was better than nothing. How wrong I was!! The secret to finding a good Thai restaurant is all in the noodles. The flavors in the soup broth, how it's prepared, the texture, is it soft but still firm enough not fall off your chopstick? Everything was RIGHT about the noodles at Racha Noodle. Five stars for their Boat Noodle Soup. It reminded me of the noodles right off the boats in Thailand. I highly recommended this restaurant to anyone living in the area or passing through Redding. Racha Noodle is awesome. They have a small, family run, simple restaurant with excellent food. They do not accept credit cards at their downtown Redding location, which is my only complaint...I would go there more if they did. They have pictures of everything on their menu to help with ordering if you arent familiar with Thai. There is an Asian market next door, so they get awesome quality ingredients from there. There isn't another Thai restaurant that can beat their Mango Sticky Rice. I crave it! Pad Thai and crispy spring rolls are fantastic. Good prices, nice service, family fun and authentic EXCELLENT Thai. One of the top 3 restaurants in Redding for sure. They now have another location on Dana Drive that is the old TCBY...good location and they do accept credit cards there. I would say the food at Racha Noodle is better though.
