We went in to test drive and Equinox EV with the Comfort 2 package. We loved it. But not the color. They were able to get me one in Tintcoat Red with a sunroof from Detroit in about 3 days. Our salesman, Carlos, was knowledgeable about the car and infotainment system. In my new car buying experience, Carlos is a rare breed of salesman. Of the dozen or so new cars I have purchased over the years at various dealerships, the salesman experience is ridiculous. I once had a a 6'3" salesman tell my wife and I he had to go with us on the test drive. He said he would sit in the back of the Toyota 86. He claimed he sat back there before. Liar. Then he claimed he had to drive it off of the lot, and we would change places in the street. He couldn't even start the stick shift car. Other salesman/dealerships weaseled out of giving me factory incentives. I have heard the most ridiculous reasons why I misread the incentives, despite reading it with them on their own screens. Apparently salesman are under the impression that a customer won't get in their own car and go somewhere else. This is my first purchase at Raceway Chevy. The whole experience was exactly as it should be. And while I want to say it was excellent, I don't want to describe it as such. Instead, it was exactly what IT SHOULD BE. Carlos is friendly. He knows the product. I drove it off of the lot. I was not pressured in any way whatsoever. When I told him of the incentives I wanted off the price, he said he would try get me more: which he did. I expected to get the $8,000 off offered by Chevy, as well as my UAW discount. I was offered more. I got $12,000 off. There was no pressure from the financial department. I had an APR from my bank that I was willing to spend. They said it was not a problem. They offered me a slightly lower rate. Nice. Now I will see if the service department is as good. I recently took my vehicle to a local shop for a quick oil change and was shocked when the technician showed me my oil plug. It was completely smashed and rounded off--the direct result of the service department at Raceway using improper tools or over-tightening it during my previous visits. The local shop had to spend extra time and labor just to extract the damaged plug and replace it. It is clear that Raceway's service team is rushing their work and neglecting basic mechanical standards. Went to the dealership today to put a deposit down on an incoming 2022 Silverado that I was told had arrived. When I got to the dealer it in fact was still in transit. The "Raceway Price" was listed at $43,405. Once I went through the trade-in appraisal portion of the deal, the paperwork came back at $43,905 with another $3500 for the dealer "protection package". This package was not only non-negotiable, but it came with factory installed features that are already covered by the MSRP (clear coat paint protectant, window protectant and undercarriage spray). It's clear with the $500 increase back to the MSRP they were trying to make back the Paltry military discount GM now offers and they are using this protection package as a way to hide the dealer markup over MSRP that's going on due to the shortage of stock. While I understand that is their right to do, they should then advertise that in the price of their vehicles rather than pulling a bait and switch. They refused to remove the dealer protection package and only after much negotiation said they would knock it down to $2500. This was supposed to cover the basic costs of what was already installed (and accounted for in the MSRP) in addition to the cost of their lifetime powertrain warranty, which is supposed to be free per their website. They clearly were not happy that I had already secured my own financing and would not be putting money down with the dealership. I hope people don't waste their time here or fall for these shady tactics. The one bright spot was the salesman Rich, who was very professional and polite even though he clearly has to go with these deceptive business practices. Buyer beware. read more

Take my 5 year old 45,000 mile vehicle in for oil change and tire rotation. Vehicle was bought from prior dealer chevy 21 which had a tires for life deal. Raceway honors the program. They tell me I need to get an alignment which I don't need. So now I am out of the program. When the time came for tire replacement I expected to be overcharged for mounting, balancing, disposal and an inferior tire, but not for an alignment service I did not need. Besides paying several add on fees for a non negotiable sticker price on a used car, mine was delievered to me with a broken wheel bearing, a faulty speed sensor that made the car unsafe to drive and heated seats that didn't heat. Now, three months after purchase, I have dry rotted tires cracks in the tread with one leaking that would not pass inspection by a local garage mechanic Their technician says the tires are fine. I'd like him to tell my 17 year old son they're safe or for that matter, tell his son they're safe. So, new tires are now on me to buy. They add a 3200 required warranty onto the sale price as well. Despite a good sales experience and a service manager who tried to accommodate my needs, the upper management is all about getting as much extra money that they can. For months the dealership harassed me about coming in and trading my car in to "give me a great deal" Upon arriving I was greeting nicely by a salesman. We got to talking about my car and what I was interested in. We file some paper work and they come back with a monthly payment of 365$ which is about 100$ more than what I am paying now. They insist that it's the national average for a car payment and they "could see what they could do" I called my insurance it would be risen about 150$. At that point I said no deal and asked for my keys back which they had hidden away from me. The manager came over and spoke to me and got very abrasive and finally said "why did you even bother coming in" I explained that his dealership had been harassing me for weeks to come in for a deal of a life time. I wasn't interested in getting a 12k car for nearly 20k. I specifically stated they where harassing me for months. When he asked me that it really ticked me off. As I had to curse and yell to get my keys back from him. While walking out the door he continued to yell at me to entice me to come back in. So i call them and told them what was going on with the car and they had me bring it up to them so i did. I was told the bumper where paint before i owned it. I was to that it need to be cover by the warranty so i call Gm and told them i was getting the run around about this and i just went my car fixed the right way and they told me it was my word again chevy 21 so gm cant help me. I look at the carfax and there was nothing that said the bumper where paint and now the car look like shit with the paint peeling on the car. I do not want to come off as the typical angry, selfish customer that you may be used to seeing review places like this. Understanding that reviews are often polarized (either really bad or really good), I will give my honest account of the dealings I experienced. I found a vehicle I wanted to look at via Cars.com. This was a used Jeep that had the features and milage that I was looking for. When I showed up, I was greeted cordially by a dealer and assisted in getting the vehicle to view and test drive. When I decided to purchase the vehicle, the paperwork was drawn and a price was negotiated without issue. The salesman even explained the tires for life program, which I was excited for. I explained that I would not be able to come to the dealership for the rotations, but the salesman stated it wouldn't be an issue, as long as I kept records of the maintanence. The problems came later, when I returned home. I live in Maryland and had stressed that the vehicle would be required to pass the inspection there. I was promised it would. When it did not pass, I contacted the dealership and was given the runaround for some time before I finally got someone who could help. I was told to take the vehicle to an authorized repair facility and get an estimate, which I did. The total came to a little over $1100. I sent that invoice to the dealership and once again, received grief and the runaround. After having to threaten to return the vehicle, they finally cut a check for the repair facility. I got the repairs done and then, a day before my temporary tag expired, I finally got my permenant plates. I was relieved to be done with this dealership...or so I thought. Fast forward to a few years later when I needed tires. I called up the dealership to speak with the salesman I had purchased my Jeep from to try to get an idea of what they would need for an appointment to get the tires replaced. I was told that the salesman no longer was employed there and that I would be unable to get the tires replaced because I had not had all the maintenance done at their facility. I elevated my complaint to a floor manager and was told I would be called back regarding my concern. I waited 2 weeks before I called back requesting when I might receive a return phone call. They had NO IDEA what I was talking about. I assumed my concern was likely in the trash on a crumbled-up sticky note. I cannot speak to their managers in regards to issues like mine since I did not ever get to speak to one, but I will NEVER purchase a vehicle there again and I don't recommend YOU do either. They don't stand behind their promises and look for any opportunity to go back on their word. Find a reputable dealership that will do right by you. There has to be some left out there! read more

I took my car in for some recalls and my car was returned earlier than the promised time, which was great. They called me a few days later and said they had my paperwork from my glove compartment (I wasn't getting an inspection, unsure why it was needed) and apologized. Not a big deal. Mistakes happen. I picked it up, no problem. My second experience I had dropped my car off on a Monday night. Didn't hear from them late Tuesday afternoon so I called them. They hadn't looked at it yet and would call tomorrow. They also didn't offer rental cars. Cool, so now I have to go out and rent a car until you figure out what's wrong with my car. Wednesday comes, 4:00 and no phone call. So I call them. Once again, they don't know yet and will call tomorrow. Meanwhile, I'm spending money on a rental. Thursday, they finally call around 2pm with a vague idea of the problem (they would need to investigate more to find out for sure). I didn't want to deal with them anymore so I declined repairs and took my car elsewhere. I work in customer service. I don't write bad reviews, but when there's no apology after bad service, come on... I will say the woman at the cashiers desk was incredibly kind and helpful. Chevy 21 produced my sales contract and took my $9,000.00 (Nine Thousand) Dollar down payment for the car I choose at Lehigh Valley Imports- besides having to wait over 5 hours for glitches in the computer software then buying the BMW and realizing they didn't even put gas in the car- the worst is the temporary plates expiring (let's say Oct 2) and emailing, calling, leaving messages and getting no concrete information as to what is going on -Then being promised Dealer plates and now 1 week later still can't drive the car because the promised plates never arrived and calling leaving messages and getting the complete run around!! But i have had nothing but problems with this car. 3 major engine repairs so far! But this last service definitely tipped me over the edge. got my turbo replaced here a few weeks ago noticed a coolant leak directly under the turbo took it in so they can correct it. Their response was "it's not our error it's the chamber above the turbo". That was the only explanation i got which makes no sense my car had no coolant leaks prior to the turbo install. These guys have absolutely NO CLUE WHAT THEY ARE DOING!! They will say anything to not take responsibility for there shady work and will charge you as much as they possibly can. None of the maintenance i have had done here has been done with integrity i feel like the purposely ruin it so you can back and pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars. I would like to disclose the following, regarding my horrific experience while purchasing a new vehicle @ the above listed car dealership. My son and I saw a loaner vehicle that we were interested in on the internet, so we spoke to a sales person, who identified herself, as Elizabeth. We scheduled an appointment for 2 November 2020, @ 6:30 P.M. on that evening. We arrived on time, and were greeted by a so-called sales person named Kevin Patrick Toomey. We went back and forth on an agreeable price for the vehicle, and when Kevin saw that we were not going to budge on price, as we had already been offered a price of $17,300.00, out of the door price @ Outten Chevrolet, which I did have documentation of, Kevin, finally visibly showed us an invoice with the price of $17,500,00, out of the door price. Therefore, we agreed to purchase the vehicle. I gave Kevin my Discover card, and put a down payment of $1,000,00 on my credit card. Then, we were directed to another employee named Gena Fischer, who was writing up the contract. My son, who was nervous, signed the documents that Ms. Fischer presented to him. He did not read them, and we were unaware that the price of $17,500.00, out of the door agreed upon price was not being honored, as promised. Instead, we paid $20,405.00 for the vehicle, which was incorrectly priced, as the car had over two thousand miles on it. When Brandon and I arrived home, we read the contract and realized that we paid $20,405.00 for the vehicle. It is important to note, that the details of the contract were not explained to either my son, or I. In addition, if the true price of the vehicle was mentioned, we would have vacated the car dealership w/o purchasing the vehicle. Moreover, we feel as though this was a coordinated scam by the individual employees of Raceway, including two managers and the car salesman; that is why the price that we were truly charged was not mentioned, or explained to us. I called the dealership in the morning and spoke with two so called managers, Janel & Gena Fischer. Ms. Fischer, stated the following: "Your son should have looked at the document before signing it," which I do not disagree with, but the ethical-issues that are at stake for a consumer are obvious. I interpreted what Ms. Fischer said to us as "tough luck, how sad too bad!" A follow-up meeting took place a couple of days later, and Ms. Fischer, basically did nothing; she did read the contract to us, as she should have prior to the signing of the contract, but the contract was not read to us, because they knew that we would have not purchased the vehicle. These individual are scam artists, trying to portray themselves, as legitimate representatives of General Motors. After the fact, "Lip Service" was provided to us by Ms. Fischer, but there was NO restitution, or mediation offered. The sales person showed me that buying a new truck was more economically feasible than purchasing a used vehicle and in my price range. Dan Gawlik explained everything to me thoroughly. After explaining what I was after Dan brought me to the exact truck they wanted and surprisingly it was a diesel. I was very impressed with the power the handling and the comfortable ride of a 2500 HD. The test drive was phenomenal and I fell in love with the truck instantly. Let me explain my experience: Feb. 2015, they had a 2011 Inferno Orange low mile Chevy Camaro listed on cars.com for a reasonable price. No actual pictures, no detailed information, just miles and price. On a whim, I called for more information. They connected me to a salesman named Jeff who was somewhat uneducated on this car, and said he would need to look into it before he could give me more info. Few hours later, Jeff called me back and informed me the car listed was the Owner of Chevy 21's own personal car, and they listed it to see if he would get any bites. Then they reverted me to another Salesman named Anthony Luizza who was now handling this car. I requested some actual pictures which they gladly sent. The car listed was exactly everything I've been looking for in my 3 month search. Living 400 miles / 9 hours away, and with 4 & 2 year old toddlers, I knew it wouldn't be an easy endeavor purchasing this vehicle, but it was EXACLTY what I've been looking for. So I made a fair offer of $1,900.00 less than listed price which the owner immediately rejected. A week later, I made another offer $900.00 less than listed price which the owner quickly rejected again. After 2 weeks, I decided I loved this car so much; I made an offer of the FULL LISTED PRICE, which he accepted a few days later. Upon accepting my offer, I gave the salesman my credit card number over the phone and I gladly agreed to a $500.00 good faith deposit until I could make the trip to pick up the car. I requested more pictures, and a final purchase price minus down payment and deposit (for my lender), plus some more specific car details before I made this huge commitment. Throughout the week I received one or two sentence response emails, unanswered phone calls, and just overall unprofessionalism. Anthony finally sent me a purchase order to sign, with the final numbers only reflecting a $500 deposit even though I clearly stated multiple times I was going to put an additional $2,000.00 down. Regardless, I informed him multiple times I would be coming the weekend of 3/20/15 to sign and pick up this car. My lender reached out to him, got all the information they needed, and completed my loan. Now the check was cut, I just had to go pickup the car and give Chevy 21 my additional $2k. Mind you, at this point I've never even seen or test drove this vehicle. Unfortunately on 3/15/15 my Grandfather un-expectantly passed away and his Funeral mass was on 3/20/15. I apologized, and informed Anthony that I couldn't make it the weekend of 3/20/15, but was still 100% committed to buying this car, and rescheduling the pickup for the weekend of 4/3/15. I even offered to give them my additional $2,000.00 credit card down payment in good faith that I still wanted this car! Per email On 3/16/15 I was told the weekend of 4/3 was ok. On 3/19/15 I received an email from Anthony stating they reached out to Pennsylvania DOT and couldn't retail this car because THE OWNER REMOVED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER and it would be "too much of a liability"!! I called, texted, AND emailed Anthony immediately... He finally EMAILED a few hours later saying the cars computer was flashed to the adjusted exhaust and they can't sell it, and ending "I am sorry"!! He wouldn't even call and speak to me ON 3/20/15, THE VERY NEXT DAY.... THE CAR WAS NOW LISTED ONLINE FOR $6,000.00 MORE THEN THE ORIGNAL PRICE THEY WERE ASKING!!! ARE YOU F'IN KIDDING ME!?! Really, this is how you operate? Very Shady, Very unprofessional, and overall extremely unethical.This is not how a business should operate, and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they go belly up. Even though this car was everything I wanted, I'm very blessed by God I didn't conduct business with them. I will continue to look for my Camaro, happy that I didn't give my hard earned money to this joke of a dealership with an EXTREMELY GREEDY OWNER!! read more

I would gladly recommend these folks to anyone. I was there recently and purchased a 2003 Ford Taurus. The price was extremely reasonable, which is what brought me in after viewing it on their website, but it was the service that was above and beyond. They go out of their way to make buyers comfortable. Everyone I spoke with was very friendly. The amenities offered, like the "Tires 4 Life" program and the free state inspections, are wonderful. What impressed me most was their charity program - each month they select a local charity, and for every car sold during that month, the owner donates $20 to that charity! The true test, though, came two weeks later when the car unexpectedly broke down. It was brought back to Chevy 21, where they discovered a faulty battery cable. Everything was fixed, they completely cleaned the engine, and it was all covered by my warranty.
