Still absolutely love this Indian spot. The owner is such a kind woman. On Friday night my friend and I traveled here yet again for our craving. Around 7 p.m. we walked in to a packed restaurant. We had to wait a bit for a table. The owner was kind enough to put our entire order in while we were waiting on our table to be ready. By the time we sat down all we had to do was relax and hang back until the food came out. Attentive waiters and delicious chicken vindaloo!!!! read more

WOW WOW WOW. this place is so good I'm deleting any other Indian food book marked I had up until now. My wife and I are in search of our new favorite spots in our new area of living and this is now our favorite Indian spot. From appetizers to main courses everything was perfect juicy, good sauces, flavors, presentation, service and most of all at the end the prices. They give a25 percent of at the end of the bill oh yeah!!!. The items we had were Bombay crab cakes, lamb briyani, mixed tandoori grill, shrimp from the app menu forgot name, vegetable samosas the best we ever had not dry perfectly cooked. Even the white rice wad perfectly seasoned and fluffy. I have eat Indian food in many states, India, Bahrain and from my friends mothers kitchens and this is the best I've had. Cone try it I guarantee it will be good as long as they don't change anything. We will be back here for sure. read more

Decent food, friendly service. If you're looking for really authentic Indian cuisine, you still have to go to Jackson Heights etc. But we were hungry after a day at Jones Beach and had a few friends in the group looking for vegetarian options and this was a good pick! read more

The food was mediocre. I don't know why it got rave reviews. They don't do great customer service on the phone; my first call was cut-off by some guy.Plus, they forget to give condiments ( raita). The biryani wasn't great .i won't recommend. read more

Best Indian food I've had. Spice is perfect. Meat is high quality. Price is right. Staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. No longer do I have to trek into Queens for authentic, top Notch Indian food. Will be back here very often! read more

After reopening from renovations and expansion, Raagini has gone from a quaint little restaurant where the staff treats you like family to double the size. Even with the increase in size, the charm has not faded. The decor, the welcome feeling, and the delicious food continues. Lunch, dinner and even Sunday brunch. This place should remain a staple in the neighborhood. read more

You HAVE to go here. It.is. AMAZING! Almost no other Indian food I've have had even compares to this place. I am a vegetarian and there are plenty of options. My boyfriend eats meat, and he is always so happy with his food there as well. Samosa chaat is the best appetizer! The flavors of everything are always so spectacular. And the service is always great, people are so friendly. read more

My experience is based solely on grubhub delivery alone. I ordered vegetable samosas, paneer tikka masala, and papadum. Paneer tikka masala was delicious but definitely lacking in paneer for the price. Small pieces of paneer. But flavor was good! The rice that came with it..... not the best. Not great. Wish I just made my own rice. Samosas were crunchy and delicious. Papadum is my favorite so I was happy they offer it as a side. The food was also delivered 5-10 minutes before expected. read more

I'm glad we gave this small restaurant a chance...authentic, fresh flavors, ordered the basics, tikka masala and vindaloo, and the waiter's recommendations were GREAT, too! The waiter was so attentive that I ended up leaving a 25% tip. I will definitely return! read more

Good food! They are just stingy with the portions for it to be that expensive. My parents, sister and I each ordered paneer/shrimp/salmon tikka masala that each had no more than 6 teenie pieces drowned in sauce. I think people often pay for food, not sauce. Not worth $16 each at all....but the flavors were good! read more

Love the food fast delivery great ambience best Indian food in Rockville centre area must try

Truly this is by far the best Indian restaurant in Long Island! Their food is absolutely incredible. Authentic and truly delicious! Raj, our waiter, was incredible. So friendly and helpful. He explained everything clearly and took such good care. I highly recommend!!! If i could give 10 stars, I would! read more

Stumbled upon this place because the one by our house was closed and so glad we came here!! Absolutely delicious Indian food. The curries and dal were fantastic. Only down side is that there was just one person who answered calls, covered all the tables and seated people so was a little chaotic but I would put up with that for the food. read more

Heaven for Indian food lovers. The best in the area, this is the restusrant which never let me down.Always the best and authentic indian taste. Must try for everyone : Chicken tikka masala , chicken vindaloo , dal tadka, lamb vindaloo, shrimp biryani. read more

I love Raagini. Eat here once and you will too! Not to mention that they seem to never forget you and that is customer service you hardly see now. Naan is amazing, Basmati rice cooked perfectly and Chicken Tikka Masala to die for. You will not be dissapointed in this lovingly made authentic indian cusine. read more

The quality of taste has deteriorated in both locations. No longer an authentic taste more bland then tasteful. Sad they were my local go to. read more

9 years later Raagini is still delicious with good service. This is my favorite Indian restaurant in NY. I highly recommend the shrimp curry and chicken korma. The food is delicious here. You can't go wrong with anything you order on the menu. read more

Wow wow wow amazing delicious food, incredible service Raz was generous and kind. Best experience, highly recommended

Great local Indian spot! I've been meaning to try it for a while, they certainly did not disappoint. Service was great, everyone was very friendly and professional. I ordered the samosas- which my server suggested I upgrade to the samosas chaat- amazing. DO. THAT. It's like a pile of samosa nachos. Different and lots of fun! I had the chicken tikka masala and my dining companion had one of the lamb curries. Both were fantastic. Garlic naan (or any variety of naan) is a must. They don't serve wine or any alcoholic beverages- but you may bring your own! The ambiance is delightful. Decor was charming, music was inviting. They have a decent sized space. We went at about 9pm, the restaurant was quiet. (They close at 10 so make sure you aren't THOSE people who show up right before closing time.) They were warm and welcoming, we didn't feel rushed. I hope they get busy because this is a great business that needs to thrive! What a great dining experience, I cannot wait to go back! read more

Friendly staff, great food and service, the atmosphere is welcoming they have reusable napkins and utensils! I'll be back!

The waiting time is forever. We were here waiting to get an order for 20 min. Then the food took us more than 30 min wait time on Tuesday. Finally, the food didn't show up cause we can't wait any longer. With that time, I already be in Manhattan from Freeport. read more

We came back here on a Friday night... We were a bit disappointed. I had ordered the chicken tikka once before (to go) and it was amazing. This time, the chicken was a bit rubbery and chewy. The saag, or Palak is usually my favorite but they must have overdone some spice and it tasted almost like a cleaning product. The other curry dishes were good but my two favorite things were a disappointment. Seems like this place is kind of inconsistent. read more

The restaurant is cute and the service is very good. The dishes are nicely presented. But the taste is mediocre and the portions are smaller than any Indian restaurant I have ever been to. Not worth of the money paid. And I don't like they included the tip on the bill and after they charge your card and ask you to sign, they have a line for tip again for you to fill out. It's sneaky. read more

Tried this spot a while back with friends. The atmosphere is nice the food I didn't enjoy so much mainly because I am not into India food so much. The service from what I can remember was great. This place does not serve alcohol so that was a draw back. If u like Indian food this maybe a great place. Not a fan read more

They served me raw tandoori chicken. When I called to complain, after eating a few mouthfuls of the raw piece before I noticed, the manager said that this has never happened before and accused me of making it up to get free food. I understand mistakes happen but to have such a rude and unapologetic response to a serious issue is completely uncalled for and unprofessional. Serving raw chicken is one of the worst things you can do as a restaurant. If you are going to serve the public, and the neighborhood since I live 2 mins away, you need to have a more professional attitude towards them. First and last time I will ever order from them. Its a shame because other reviewers seemed to like the place. read more

Raagini - They served me raw tandoori chicken. - Indian Near Me - Baldwin, New York

Was craving Indian food found this place. Great food! Raaj was such a nice person and a great waiter!! Nice looking place too!!

Ordered to go lunch from here. Nothing spectacular!! Ordered garlic and plain Naan. You can't go wrong with Naan. Chicken tikka Marsala was ok nothing to rave about. The portion barely fed one for a light lunch. Defo no seconds or enough to share and still have a decent amount for yourself. Not sure if I would go back. read more

the other day i had my first Indian dish ever from here and it was beyond delicious. i got butter chicken mild and i cannot wait to try it again spicer. they give you so much sauce for dipping your naan bread into also and portions are for generous with reasonable prices. really recommend Raagini!! read more

When I think of good Indian food, I never think of Long Island but I'm glad I'm wrong. I grew up in Baldwin, and somehow discovered this place on yelp. I have since come here a bunch with my parents. This is some of the best Indian food I've had in the US (I travel the US constantly for work). I usually get Saag Paneer, but have tried a lot of the veggie entrees and appetizers, and everything is amazing. The quality is top notch, the flavors are incredible, and they are always consistent. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My parents had never had much Indian food before, but they love everything they've had as well (they both get meat dishes) and this is always our first choice when we go out to dinner.I was recently in DC and went to an expensive Indian restaurant that received a James Beard award, and honestly... Raagini is a lot better. I will come here whenever I'm in Long Island and I HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone. read more

Ordered was made on time. Food was delicious. So happy and grateful for the vegetarian options and not super spicy options. The garlic naan was super yummy too. Thank you for a great meal! read more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED It was my absolute pleasure to attend a group dinner at Raagini on Friday, 8/26. Raagini is a casually decorated Indian restaurant which features an extensive menu of regional Indo-Pak cuisine, both vegetarian & non-vegetarian.It is easy to find parking in the Stop & Shop shopping center across the street. After that, put on your jaywalking shoes as I did and run across Atlantic Avenue directly into this storefront restaurant.Be careful, though!! Our group assembled promptly and our polite waiter took our orders. Orders arrived kind of haphazardly, with some diners waiting longer than others.Big deal! I would rather eat hot food as it's cooked.Anyway, the fact that the restaurant is BYOB(no corkage charge!!) makes waiting for your food more pleasant, especially if you were enjoying a Red Tuscan, as I was. Before my dishes arrived I enjoyed a taste of my neighbor's Aloo Papri Chat ($6.99), an app built around perfectly cooked and seasoned potatoes and chickpeas. It was glorious! Since i wanted an Indian lunch the next day, I opted for two entrees, Chicken Tikka Masala ($12.99) and Lamb Biryani ($15.99). My CTM was divine! The chicken was perfectly cooked, without a trace of fat. The tomato "gravy", which makes this dish IMHO, was spectacular. It brought the gratis Basmati Rice, which accompanies all entrees other than Biryanis, to a new level. So delicious! It was deeply and complexly flavored with a hint of sweetness. At $12.99, I'd call it a bargain..........the best i ever had! My Lamb Biryani arrived in an extremely generous portion, with lean lamb nestled in moist and savory rice. I ate some and saved the rest for a delicious lunch the next day. My naan bread was puffy and nicely cooked. Other diners's reactions to the food were similar to mine. One pronounced the Shrimp Jahlfrezi ($16.99) "the best thing on the table". Sorry.....I'd say that about my CTM!! Other dishes which drew praise were the Aloo Gobi, Lamb Jahlfrezi, Lamb Korma and Lamb Vindaloo. My rating of five stars does not imply that this restaurant is perfect. No restaurant is. I was disappointed that the owner or manager crowded our large group into a small room adjoining the kitchen, instead of the much larger adjacent room. The air conditioning where we were seated was set at an uncomfortable level. However, the waiter rectified the situation after we complained. Raagini gets the 5 because it not only served me some of the best Indian food I have ever had on Long Island, but was also so outstanding that my eight fellow diners would have confirmed my opinion if I took a poll. I cannot wait to enjoy the food here again!! read more

I would not order from this place. It was extremely oily and the smell of the meat was very strong. Thumbs down

OMG this is one of my new favorite places. I took ten people here for a meetup and everyone loved what they ordered. The food was perfectly spiced and had amazing flavor. The deserts were good and so were the drinks. This place is BYOB, so don't be afraid to bring some tasty Indian beers to go along with your food. The service is fast, friendly, and very accomodating. My only complaint was that the AC and fans were not working, so it was a bit hot. I'm confident they've fixed the problem already. My group put in a second request for this place; we're going to make that happen!!!!! read more

Delicious Indian food that we needed in the Baldwin/Oceanside area. Went here Sat night and it apparently just opened. Was byob so we brought a bottle and enjoyed our meal. Since it just opened the service was a little jittery but we didn't mind. It's very small and all the family members were helping out. The samosas were excellent and the 2 dishes we ordered (chicken tikka masala and lamb rogan gosht) were cooked perfectly to our spice request. Def will be back here soon. read more

No complaints! Great decor, superb service, reasonable prices, plenty of vegetarian options, not greasy. The menu actually explains how everything is made. We asked for spicy and that's what they gave us. You can tell you're not in Hicksville- none the diners here are Indian, and there aren't any other places like this in the area. Bathroom technology is eco-friendly, and there's plenty of parking. read more

I came here to eat navratna korma and garlic naan but the food served to me was cold and my waiter was so busy with other tables that he was not even bothered to change my food which was served to me I just took the food home I did not eat it I just don't know how can this people serve a hot dish cold to the guest. Very bad job But still the taste of the food was good I microwaved my food and ate it at home read more

One of my favorite Indian restaurants of all time. Every dish is prepared with perfect flavor and always a real treat to enjoy. We ordered in and got butter chicken, chicken tikka marsala, and three types of Naan (onion, garlic and paneer/cheese) and side of mango chutney. Absolutely delicious. Looking forward to ordering again soon. Delivery came on time and hot and well packaged too. Totally recommend!! read more
