According to the Lincoln Journal Star, the new owner was a former regular, so it appears that Meadowlark has retained its character and employees. With the exception of less paper in the front windows, walking in you can't tell that it had ever closed. They have a large selection of brewed coffees available every day, and a distinct selection of espresso drinks. There is frequently live music in the evenings, and a variety of seating options. It's great for solo trips, as well as small and large gatherings. I live several blocks from here, and definitely appreciate having them back open. When it was closed, there was no high quality coffee options in the Near South neighborhood. As someone who is passionate about my neighborhood, I am very excited that this community gathering place has reopened!

They serve yummy breakfast sandwiches, delicious schmear and coffee. Their menu selection is huge. I think there's something for everyone. Hot, cold, sweet drinks -- you name it, they probably have it! Service was great. The two baristas made our drinks and food quickly. The inside of the trailer is cozy and welcoming. They have games, coloring books for little ones, and more! They also have a drive-through for those who can't hangout inside. We enjoyed our experience at the bean box. We'll definitely be back!

The dark chocolate drizzle finishing them off was nice but probably unnecessary, and just ended up in a pile of crumbles that was hard to get out of the bottom of the plastic tube they came in. The serving size justified the price, in my opinion. There were so many other great souvenir treats available! But I moved on to the truffle case with all its gorgeous gourmet gems awaiting me! I selected four and was most excited for the Earl Grey one. It was decent but disappointing; I tasted very little tea inside, it was pretty much just a plain caramel filling to me. The other two are still awaiting me. The ladies behind the counter were helpful and friendly, and were patient with my indecision. I also got one of their house stickers for my collection and I was thrilled that it was so reasonably priced! Some places charge SO MUCH for stickers that are, essentially, advertisement for them. I wish I could return soon but I live far away and it will probably be a couple years before I'm back. But you can be sure I'll be making time for a longer trip here then!

It's been there 45 years. They're baked goods are made downstairs I was told. I tried the coffee cake, which was excellent, but I did not care for the chocolate croissant. It was very tough and very little chocolate. I did like the outside terrace seating which faced the main street of the Haymarket district. It was shaded and very nice breeze went through there on a hot day. I love the experience of the shop and the terrace, but if I'm looking for good the flavor of coffee, I would probably go somewhere else.
