I leased from Alex Attiah for 2 years. He entered my house illegally unannounced which was reported to police and they saw video footage. The lease required him to give me 4 keys. He gave me 2, but then his wife took 1, leaving me with 1 key to my house. When I was moving out he asked to borrow my key for his lockbox because he lost the keys to the house. He tried to charge me $200 for another applicants background check. He charged me $360 for storm damage that happened after I moved out of the house. The owner reimbursed me because she thought it was his responsibility to get the utilities turned back on. I was forced evicted and told by the police and owner to leave the property immediately after he entered the house unLawfully scaring my daughter. That forced vacature made the lease null and void. He posted 6 lies in a zillow statement that were in effect libelous about me. DO NOT RENT FROM ALEX ATTIAH. HE IS UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNETHICAL read more

The primary contact would not return my calls about serious issues with the property. I had to leave voice messages or texts to get anything done. It took an extended time to get anything addressed. When the service people they dispatched eventually came they did not fix all the issues identified. Very disappointed with lack of followup and resolution of issues. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Alex Attiah is the worst person to deal with. We (family of 5) lived in a townhouse where he was the property manager of for 4 years, we moved from out of state. Our first day, (after a long drive with a Uhaul since we were coming in from out of state) we couldn't even get into our townhouse. So we had to stay at a hotel. So second day, we got into our townhouse and the second bedroom window wouldn't open and all the bathtubs have black mold. We called Alex and the handyman came over for both issues and he tried to open the window but he got scared to open it so he told us to just not open it. (Great) And for the bathtub, he told us to just use bleach. Why would we have to do that seriously?? He then said he will come back for the window later. He never ever did. And that window was never fixed. Now go to a few days later, it's in the middle of November and the furnace breaks. The whole townhouse is freezing, (we are not used to northern Illinois weather) we also have a 3 year old girl. We had to go to Walmart to get a little space heater. Alex then proceeded to argue with me (just now, not 4 years ago) that he counts November as fall not winter so we shouldn't have been cold. Huh???? Since then, countless issues have happened and Alex would always ignore our phone calls and take extremely long to get back to us and he has only came to fix the garbage disposal & dryer in the 4 years we've been there. We just moved out last month in February because my dad passed away unexpectedly in January and my mom who isn't an American citizen with her whole family out of the country, she decided to move back to her home country. She slaved herself away the last month trying to get everything together and in order while also getting rid of everything in the house & packing up & cleaning. Before the walk through with Alex, she was nonstop cleaning for two days. The place looked so much better than when we moved in. We just got our security deposit back. $600 back out of $1800. I'm almost positive that my mom, since she lost her husband who was an American & can't speak for her anymore, was being taken advantage of. That's all I have to say. read more

CAUTION This place is one of the worst most unprofessional places I have ever worked with. The lack of communication from Summer Gerber & Alex Attiah on something as important as a new house is astounding. They are complete scam artist. Someone else wrote a review from a few years ago about their parents being scammed and I really should have listened. They will take your application fee and lie about running your background. They never ran a background. I get credit updates when someone runs my credit, I triple checked it was never ran. Not to mention they never even did an employment verification, but they keep your application fee for a "background" TOTAL SCAMMERS Also was told if something on my application wasn't going to meet the criteria to rent they would not run the background and give me the application fee back.. NOPE they just want their money and they don't give one single poop about you. read more

Negligent, irresponsible, and mentally unstable. That's my experience with my property manager, Joe. They have no other who can take over the property, so I'm stuck working with a liar who doesn't care to maintain the property responsibly. Horrendous. They also misrepresent the owner (I believe Alex, they make sure it's confusing) of the company as "just an employee," having him pocket extra cash mowing lawns of the properties, poorly, then personally hating the tenant when they just do it themselves. My fiance and I could not be more pleased with our realtor. Helen guided us through various houses that fit our criteria and most importantly our budget. She exceeded our expectations every time. She always provided an honest opinion on every aspect of a house from plumbing to siding to water issues. Her level of expertise as a realtor is superb. If I could give this rating ten stars I would! WARNING!!! Do NOT work with Alex Attiah... unless you want to get swindled. You would be better off just setting your money on fire... less of a headache. Alex was never responsive to requests of fixing items that were potentially dangerous... like a rotting wood deck that someone could fall through, or fixing an electrical issue that prevented a front door light to work (resulting in an 83-yr-old woman to fall). Then upon leaving a property that is managed by Alex, he will lie about damages, and swindle you... charging $50 for a burnt out light bulb. Unless, you are truly about to end up on the streets homeless.... keep looking, and don't rent from this guy. read more

These guys are awesome! I rented with the REIT Homes team for a few years...I had no problems! Whenever something needed to be fixed ...they fixed it. In fact we have been renters for 20 something years and this is one the better companies to rent from. I cant speak for the other silly negative reviews...But we are very pleased. If we stayed in IL we would for sure have used them again. I would recommend Alex and his team to anyone looking to rent or who needs a good mgmt co. read more

Alex Attiah is one of the most unprofessional people I have ever conducted business with not only in real estate, but in any type of business. He is a fast-talking, sleazy sales person. He is very unresponsive when you need something, and will take advantage of your lack of knowledge in real estate. DO NOT USE HIM OR TRUST HIM!!! My older parents were looking for an agent to sell a house in Grayslake, so my dad contacted Alex. He spoke with him several times and was eager to get him to sign a contract. The house is in my mom's name, so he came and met them both. They met prior to going out of the country for a few weeks, and told him they preferred to list after they got back. He convinced them to list the house immediately and he would contact me with any and all updates. I was not there for this meeting. My mom thought she was signing a contract for 30 days, but it was in fact a contract for one year with a 30 day notice needed to cancel. My parents were naive to listen to what he said and signed without fully understanding what they were getting into. He listed the house, and I did not hear anything from Alex at all. My parents called him when they got back from vacation, and it took weeks to get a response. I finally called him myself, and he returned my call. I let him know that we found another agent, and we were not happy with him and his lack of communication. He said my mom knew what she was signing and never gave him my information. She showed me the paperwork with my name and number as a contact, so I knew he was lying. He made it sound like it must have just been a misunderstanding, and he would like to come and meet me to discuss, as I am going to be directly involved helping them sell this house, since they don't understand all the paperwork and complexities of working with a realtor. I agreed, but quickly cancelled after talking to my parents. My dad spoke to him on his own prior to this and told him he wanted to cancel the contract on 3/30/16. My dad is 72 years old and does not use a computer or text. On 4/6/16, I asked Alex if he could use the date he spoke to my dad as the first day of the 30 day notice of cancellation. He refused and said he would use the email as the notification. I asked when he was going to remove the lock box and give us back the key, but he did not respond. On 5/5/16, my dad met he new realtor to take pictures of the house. They took the key from the lock box, and my dad told him to take the key for the new lock box. On 5/7/16, the new realtor let me know that he could not post the new listing, since the one Alex had was still not cancelled. On 5/8/16, I sent Alex an email letting him know he had not cancelled the listing and to please do so. He responded the next day saying that he will do so. He also included that the other realtor removed the key from his lock box, which prevented showings. He threatened to file a complaint against him to the realtor board. That is what drove me overboard to write this long and negative review. If I had the time, I would file a complaint against Alex to the board, even though it is a tedious process. As far as his threat, the key was removed when his contract was legally up, and he was no longer the realtor to show the house. Secondly, knowing his track record, we had no idea how long it would take him to give back the key, and remove the lock box. I mean, he still hadn't cancelled the contract as he was instructed to do! This guy is a complete menace to work with, and I strongly urge anyone who took the time to read this to steer clear of him.
