Reading all the reviews here and the experience I had today will keep me from using this location…read morethey are rated 3 stars for a reason. . I drove past two dive shops today thinking I'll wait to purchase my new gear local. I have waited all week thinking on my day off I would be all set. I checked store hours. I double checked before I left. I drive all the way to Weymouth from Nashua and I get to the dive shop at 10:30. As I pull up the place looks abandoned. Pit in my stomach I get out of my car and a poodle meets me at the locked door. The place was closed. Sign on door says. On a swimming trip. Amazing. Last time I pull into that parking lot.

My husband and I started our diving experience here, and we have nothing but great things to say…read moreabout them. The classes were taught very well- they were VERY thorough, and extremely reasonable. We've now been divers for a couple years, and every time we come in the shop, they are so friendly and helpful for anything we need! Once you've gone there, it's like you're family. Items are always always in stock. I think maybe ONCE they didn't have a certain bag in, and he ordered it right away for us. Prices are great- comparable to what you can find on ebay, and we would rather buy from them anyway because of the safety factor. We will definitely continue to go here- it's a great local shop that offers charters, advice, and continuing education. I think my husband would live there if he could!

I got PADI certified here! ...in our very own dirty waters!!…read more Boston Scuba is located right in East Boston, right by the water. It's easy to get to and we always find parking in the lot when we go. They have the whole certification package for you - we did our pool session in a local school gym while having our classes and our four open water dives (two dives per trip/day) in their store location (by the harbor). It was pretty simple and easy to reserve - just make sure you pick days that work for you. Everyone is so helpful - dive masters are fun, knowledgable and passionate. I had an amazing time and would definitely recommend them...if you can handle that old dirty water. We went in July but still put on all the thermal gear (gloves, hood, shoes and all) that they provided! Overall, excellent experience and service. We haven't bought anything from the store, because I think it's a little pricey; however, students do get a discount that's available the week or two during and after certification.

Jim has a great play list during the dives and knows the water cold (yeah 50 degree at 50 feet so bring all of your 7MM gear) and where the fun stuff is. Lots of stuff to see on the ride as well between CodZilla and the pleasure crafts in the harbor. Sipped a couple of cold ones at the East Coast Cider outside lounge afterward...all in all a great day!

I can't even fully express how satisfied I was after leaving the shop. I just completed my open water certification this past weekend and I can't stop thinking about when I am going to dive next. On the less than positive side of things, I had a death in the family that morning and I took the hour trip to the shop to get my mind off of everything. My experience there completely made my day feel less depressing. I was told by a few people early on, that the dive community is "awesome and welcoming" and I have to say that everyone I met, especially Mark and Laura, are the optimoe of that. I live over an hour away in New Hampshire. I made the drive and will do so again if for nothing else than the experience and customer service. Aside from the amazing personable nature of the people, the shop itself was immaculate. It is definitely the biggest and nicest shop I have visited so far. And unlike a lot of businesses these days, there was zero pressure to buy anything. If you need the latest in diving equipment as well as a wealth of knowledge and top notch customer service, look no further. Ask for Laura. You won't regret it. She is the perfect example of how to treat customers as well as what the love and enthusiasm for the sport of diving is all about.

I recommend him completely for future dive trips whether you're traveling alone or with family.

I was completing this course, including the open water portion, all in December; I was eager to get certified in a New England winter, and Dave matched that energy. From the moment you meet Dave, his enthusiasm for SCUBA is palpable. Throughout long class days, Dave is cracking jokes, telling anecdotes and getting you excited about the skill you're about to have, all while answering a barrage of questions. In the water, he is professional, vigilant, and in his element. He exudes an air of calm and control, allowing you to confidently perform skills that would otherwise be terrifying or disorienting- like removing your goggles or respirator in 45 degree water. Beyond that, the staff is equally as knowledgeable and the community they foster is incredibly warm and welcoming. Even on my open water dives where I thought it was just going to be myself and Dave, I ended up meeting more people who tagged along just because they wanted to dive. I'd be hard pressed to find a more inviting community that is excited to pass the knowledge along to others. What an awesome experience and an awesome group of people that I can happily say I'm a part of now. Thank you Dave! 5/5 stars
