I first had a phone call with Nick to get an overall understanding of what I was looking for. Then, I went to their offices in Downtown San Jose and met with members of their team. Each person came prepared with a few opportunities that matched my interests. In the weeks after, Mark and Kayla introduced me to various companies, and after each call or interview they would contact me by phone to ask me how I felt. If I did not feel like the opportunity fit me, they did not pressure me to continue down the interview process. I've worked with staffing agencies in the past--my overall experience has largely been that quota pressure causes some rather unkind behaviors. It's been nice to feel like a person dealing with another person and not a live bot. Michael found me a position that not only fits my current lifestyle, but comes with a GREAT team full of smart, warm, and funny individuals. For my first job in a new industry, I really lucked out. My only concern about working with Aerotek is their communication with both contractors and corporate clients. I encountered misunderstandings during my first few months at my host site that included things like duties, shift choice, and how I'd submit my hours. I think most contractors would prefer these things to be crystal clear at onboarding. Perhaps the communication is another casualty of pandemic disruption? When I had a more urgent issue last month, the Aerotek team was timely in addressing it. All in all, I'm really happy at my host site and enjoying what I do.

At first I thought it was some kind of scam as the name of the recruiting agency in the job ad was not Randstad. But that wasn't the case. I got in contact with Desiree. She did some looking around to see if she can find something for me that matched what I had on my resume. We then did a small interview over a video call & after she got to know me better she went above and beyond to try to find me a job. She actually found me a temporary assignment until she could find something long term. This gal was constantly updating me with whatever was going on via phone calls, emails, texts. She also helped me get set up in their system as everything is done online with them. She's very easy to work with & was able to get me a temp job, get me paid for my hours worked & I never had to go through the trouble of having to go to the office in person, though I wouldn't have minded meeting her officially. I eventually ended up finding a job on my own, but kudos to her and the team for trying to land me somewhere. The leads and interviews they were setting me up with were pretty good paying positions. If I'm on the job market again, I'm giving them a call.
