Or the pickle is on the side, but the sandwich bread soaks up all the pickle juice - gross! We had a large lunch meeting today, and we all received a link a few days in advance to the Apple Spice menu. You Everett your name and email, and get to actually pick what you want to eat! They had a really large variety of sandwiches, salads, wraps, and even soups. The meals also come with a bag of chips and a cookie, and you can pick your additional side. I picked fresh fruit, but they also had a pasta salad option and a few other similar offerings. I was also able to customize my wrap to not include ranch (which would have been automatically on it if just standard pre-made), and I was able to deselect pickle so it wasn't even in my box. Though one of my coworkers got one and I noticed the pickle was wrapped in it's own little Ziploc, so it probably wouldn't have gotten all over everything. Everything in the box is a pretty standard size. I was full off half a wrap, which is normal for lunch. I also ate half my chocolate chunk cookie, which was really good! Like a nice soft batch cookie. One of my coworkers is gluten free, and she even said how nice it was that so many GF options were available. She generally can't even eat catered lunches! Overall very impressed, and would definitely recommend them to anyone needing to cater a lunch!

I'm not a huge sweets person, but I like a good soft cookie. No crispy cookies for me - and Daddy's Dough Cookies totally delivered. The cookies we had in the picnic basket were lemon cream pie which consist of two delightfully chewy and soft lemon cookies with lemon buttercream frosting sandwiched inside. The lemon flavor was so bright and summery, and the sweetness level was just right - not too sweet. My boyfriend and I both commented about how good they were, and I immediately looked to see where I could get more. Luckily enough they sell these goodies at Bridge Street Market, Fresh Thyme, and Horrocks here locally. They also sell them online so I bought two of EVERY FLAVOR. Then we happened to find them at one of the last days of the Urban City Cafe and got the birthday cake flavor. Guess what, amazingly good. The cookies are so interesting, they seem like they are an oatmeal type cookie somehow and the texture is just so, so good. I hope they can continue to grow and get into other stores locally. It's a smaller market, but with plenty of wonderful vendors like coffee trucks, matcha, baked goods and pastries, produce, flowers, art, even a repair fair on select weekends where neighbors volunteer to help you fix your stuff! I love the variety of vendors and happy people that I've met at this market. There is ample parking but it's a short walk from the lot into the actual market area. They often have some interactive stations (last week they had a live poet helping people write poems) as well as neighborhood organizations represented and live musicians. I don't make it to this market every weekend, but whenever I do, I'm always happy!

I wasn't aware…read morethere was a Creston Farmers Market until one weekend I think at least 3 of my friends posted pictures on Instagram from it, and I learned that one of my friends is a vendor! We don't live super close, but it's only about a 15 minute drive, so we decided to swing by earlier this summer. It was a smaller market than I expected, but really nice. I was surprised to find about half of the booths were veggies and produce, and the other half was fresh foods and art/crafts. The Kona Ice truck was even there! We did a full loop of the booths and left with a decent haul of veggies and microgreens. Totally should've had a smoothie too, so I hope Kona Ice keeps going! Parking was super easy. The market is on the north side of Creston High School right on Plainfield and parking was along the front of the school and to the lot on the south end. I hope this continues to be a thing! It's nice if you only need a few things to go to a smaller market rather than dealing with the crowds and parking at Rockford of Fulton St.
