    Gummy cupcakes

I was walking around the Center of Wappingers Falls on the Wednesday morning of our vacation before most places were open, and I spied a colorfully appointed candy shop. Fun art in the windows and a designer logo. A mini candy statue of some sort. And I just had a hunch it was a special place. I told my family we should visit in the afternoon. And we did. Since I'm a picture taker, my family was already in the process of filling their candy cups at Quincy's and chatting with the friendly owner when I walked in. There was a wall of candy bins. A free standing taffy display. Stacks of designer cotton candy. Dill. Peach tea. Ranch. As I explored, I saw Quincy's has the cool candy. Gummy frogs -- the coolest of the gummies. Gummy cupcakes -- the cutest of the gummies. Long sour and sugared chewy ribbons. They had classics too. Reese's Pieces. Chocolate Covered Pretzels. Those little waxy soda bottles from my decades-ago youth. I'm not somebody who frequents candy shops, but Quincy's appealed to my inner child. The owner recommended restaurants for us. Some I was aware of. But we went to one I wasn't aware of that night. And as we ate phenomenal Detroit Style pizza, I understood the magic of Quincy's. The owner has great taste. She knows what candy to buy, because she gets it. Quincy's is an awesome candy store. You should definitely visit. 5 Stars

They recently opened, in early March on E. Main St. in Wappingers. naming the establishment, after their dog Quincy. Far more than a candy store filled with every imaginable; "once upon a time penny candies". It fills you with nostalgia and smile on your face. There are freshly made candy truffles, plus excellent service with a smile! That makes a BIG difference! Some may come in here, and say: your grandfather used to talk about these, or maybe it was your father, who said the same thing. Then there are those who actually went to a neighborhood candy store, and picked up a bunch of them; for less than a quarter! Only to be told you're going to ruin your appetite for dinner. I'm starting to ramble. It's time for you to ramble over there and treat yourself to some of the best candy you've ever had! I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I know someone who does! I tried one of her chocolate covered raisins that she picked up tonight. OK! So I had some fruit today. ; ) That makes it a balanced diet, doesn't it? See the recent photos.

Update: the truffles are $1.25 each, not $1.75 each as I reported initially. Adding an extra star for how quickly the owner responded to me and weighing the cost of the chocolates. They are delicious I look forward to exploring the shop again and finding some additional novelties along the way.: Those wax lips, how about PEZ dispensers with some of those crazy themes that they have?, Maybe cotton candy hot off the press? Just an idea or two. Initial review: A cute shop on Main Street Wappingers Falls. At the time of our visit, the shop had been open just a few weeks so it's definitely a work in progress. You'll find bulk candies and some novelty candies, mostly from the 1990s and later. They also have a case of truffles at $1.75 apiece, a bit of a steep price. I think they do better to sell them by the pound or prepackaged them, in someway which would encourage higher volume of sales, I think. I'd love to see some of the older novelty candies - the throwbacks from the 70s and 80s which I believe are still readily available in bulk. With the weather improving and summer here before you know it, maybe some local frozen treats like ice pops, could cater to some of the grown-ups. All in all, the proprietor is really pleasant and works closely with her husband. This is a woman owned business, so I wish them a lot of success.

    Truffles!

We visited last Saturday and it was such a fun experience! There's a huge selection of serve yourself gummy candies, old-school candy, a small international section, taffy, a Jelly Belly jellybean bar, plus truffles in the case. I'm sure I missed something since the store was quite crowded, but there were so many fun options and flavors. It's a great option to have locally and we would go back. We weren't too impressed with the truffles though. They were not bad, just not as good as those we've had from chocolatiers. They are very reasonably priced. The service was friendly and helpful and it's a really nice shop.

Lovely colorful little shop in the heart of Wappingers. Welcomed with a smile by the lovely owner. Tons of candies, chocolate galore, all tucked into super cute " drawers " A huge choice of sweet treats. Most of it by the pound, also some individually wrapped chocolates and candy bars. Come and visit, give them a chance to succeed. We all need to do our part and get this country back on its feet

Quincy's candy shop is like stepping into as Willy Wonka says, A World of Pure Imagination. It's the land of Sweets and Joyness as Charlie the Unicorn says. Sweet treats for children and adults. Everything you can want ranging from gummy candies, chocolate, gum, cotton candy and stuff like Big League Chew and Ring Pops from the 90s. They have much more and also a lot of different sodas. Bonus! The owners are just as sweet as the treats!
