I cannot say enough about the Quincy Feather Bed! The rooms are absolutely adorable and so tastefully done! The beds are like heaven... We rented the entire property (2 cabins and 5 rooms) and every single person just raved about how well they slept and how charmed they were. Stephanie and Bill are some of the most thoughtful, friendly, and wonderful people I have met. Truly. Here's a personal story- I stayed here for my wedding... I forgot my garter and was 30-minutes away from walking down the aisle, in the middle of a photo shoot. I called Stephanie to see if the garter was in my room. She sent Bill in, he found it and drove 20-minutes to get it to me!!! I have been blown away by this while experience. To say I am pleased would be a huge understatement! The Quincy Feather Bed Inn is the best kept secret in town! Charm, cheerful, safe, and clean! Adorable Victorian with private entrances and bathrooms that is close enough to downtown to walk to eat yet far enough to be quiet. This was my second stay in the Barrett Room. It has plenty of space with a mini-fridge, microwave and desk besides the luxurious bed and deep claw tub. I was able to enjoy the birds singing as I sipped tea on the second story deck outside. Beautiful way to end a day on the jobsite. Shelley is very attentive and accessible. She got me right in although I requested the room the morning of. I don't know where to begin. The charm and aesthetic of the property set back from the Main Street behind the courthouse had lovely wildflower beds, lots of trees and speckled sunshine. My room, the Gladys Room on the 2nd floor was bright and cheerful not to mention super clean. The refrigerator was large enough to accommodate breakfast & snacks. The decor was a fun combo of Victorian and Shabby Chic with accents of cool antiques. Love love love the owners, Collin Birdseye and his beautiful wife Shelly....!! Stayed in the Hideaway Cottage, which is a lovely little stand alone unit behind the main house. Well appointed and quite comfortable. Super cute room, with nice touches including Pharmacopia toiletries and kitchenette with microwave, mini fridge, real glasses and coffee mugs, and a creative "Feather Bed Post" newsletter with property history and local joints to eat, drink and be merry - many within short walking distance. The bistro set and umbrella on the back deck were a welcome option to work outside for a spell. I would have liked to use the fireplace (or some heat) for the cool morning but it seemed to be turned off for the season. I definitely would have opted for a nice soak in the beautiful claw foot tub, but the way the plastic shower curtain was fitted it made it nearly impossible to enjoy a bath without reconfiguring everything. Decided it wasn't worth the effort. If just a basic breakfast spread was offered, the place was a bit cleaner and little details (burnt out lightbulbs; host turn on outside lights while I was away during nightfall) weren't overlooked, I think this would be 5-star territory. read more

A well appointed inn in the heart of Quincy. The Feather Bed Inn is within a few blocks walking distance to dining, the only brewery in town (which also happens to house an arts theatre), a movie theater, coffee and more. It is so conveniently close to anywhere you'd like to walk in this small, quaint town. It's also located on a quiet tree lined street which only adds to its appeal. We stayed two nights in Barrett's room. This room is located on the second floor with a private entrance and a shared balcony with the room next door. The room was appointed with nice toiletries, a coffee maker and coffee, tv, microwave, and a good sized fridge. The fridge was tall enough for a bottle of wine which was just that much more perfect. There was a full sized tub (claw foot) and shower curtain in it for showers. The hot water was plenty, but it was a bit awkward getting in and out of the high walled tub. Other than that, it was perfect. There is even a skylight in the bathroom where you can see a beautiful tree or the stars at night. The owner leaves instructions, maps, a comprehensive binder of dining and activities in the area. There were a lot of thoughtful touches throughout the room and the Inn's front porch was decorated adorably for Halloween. Tip: even though there is "Bed" in the title, it is not a Bed and Breakfast. You are not getting a breakfast meal unless you heat it up in your microwave! However, there are plenty of cute places to get your coffee and breakfast once you're ready to leave your room. We really enjoyed our stay here and hope to visit again soon. Enjoy! read more

Had a very pleasant last minute one night stay here after ending up in Quincy for work. Shelly was very accommodating and even went and cleaned a room in preparation as my coworkers and I needed 3 and she currently only had 2 at the time I called to inquire about availability. Very clean. Very quaint. Would def come back and stay again. Plenty of parking out front on the street. I parked a large vehicle myself. Walking distance to all bars and restaurants in downtown area. This place is a gem with artistic aesthetic. It is close to downtown Quincy but tucked away enough so that it is a private get away. The rooms are VERY clean and the ambiance is very soothing because of all the tall trees and pretty flower beds. The only sounds that caught my ear were birds, birds, and more birds. This lovely inn and its friendly owners Shelley and Colin are reason alone to visit the quaint little town of Quincy! The room was spotless and furnished with gorgeous antiques as well as the most luxurious linens and soaps. The inn is walking distance to all restaurants, near hiking and kayaking and right next door to an adorable museum. The owners are also extremely kind - they rent their place out to working firefighters during the fire storms and in fact, one of our friends who came with us had mobility issues. The owners were sweet and accommodating to her; so I'd ignore anyone who says these guys discriminate. Love these folks and their place. We will be back! read more

When you come here for business or pleasure it is in the right location to have easy access of downtown Quincy. Shelley and Colin are the owners and are wonderful individuals that are always concerned not just about the business they own but for the welfare and well being of the community and Plumas County as a whole. We stay2 nights last year but had to cancel our reservation this year because of a conflict. We had our 1939 model-A and they had secure off-street parking, a real plus. Conveniently located to restaurants and a wine bar within walking distance, the location was perfect and the accommodations were very comfortable. I stayed in this lovely, sparkling clean, quaint room for one night and was absolutely delighted. Shelley, the owner, goes out of her way to accommodate. Sheets, shams, comforters, blankets, bedspreads, pillows, linens, towels - are all of the highest quality. Shelley has created an artistic, (made to look old-timey from the 1800's) one-page newsletter that informs guests of local restaurants, areas of interest, museums to visit, and safety information. Free, off-street parking is in the back of the home within steps to the room entrance. Shelly created coasters, placed on night stands and on tables, with WIFI information that serves double duty to protect the antique wood furniture. I was in a foot cast at the time; the clawfoot tub (that had sides that were a bit higher than a typical claw-foot tub) was out of the question or me to use, due to my own injury. A quality microwave oven, glass drinking glasses, and porcelain coffee mugs are provided. I highly recommend staying at Quincy Feather Bed and look forward to returning. read more

What a surprising find, a real jewel and charming Inn with old world charm and many updates. The bed is amazing, the bathroom includes a claw foot tub/shower. The sitting area and TV are perfect for chillin'. I also enjoyed an after dinner cup of coffee in the lovely landing just outside the front door of my 2nd floor room. Plenty of room for a full sized patio table, umbrella and chairs. Stephanie greeted me and gave me the complete lowdown on the room as well as good places to eat. I'll share my review of the wonderful Pangaea Pub & Grill later. So many good eateries and shops within walking distance. And the views around Quincy are spectacular, not to mention the incredible scenery on Hwy 70, winding along side the mighty Feather River. Take a drive, take your time and get to Quincy. We booked the Courthouse Cottage and could not be happier. The cottage is perfect for 2. The king bed is very comfortable. The owners were very responsive to our requests and it's nice and quiet. Downtown Quincy is just a block walk from our little place. We had dinner at Quintopia brewery and have reservations at Moons tonight. We came up to see some fall colors. The maples are stunning. I can see Quincy and the Courthouse Cottage becoming a regular stop on the relaxation tour. Thanks Shelley for everything. read more

I am a big fan of Hyatt and Hilton. If there was either in Quincy, I would opt for either cottage at the Feather Bed. My wife was absolutely blown away with her first stay. Since this was probably my 10th time or so, I was pleased that she was on board. I learned of this place from a friend who stayed in the Courtyard Cottage for 5 weeks while he and his wife searched for a home nearby, and he, justifiably, raved about it. I look forward to my next business trip to Plumas County. Just call it comfort personified. read more

As my daughter wants to go to Feather River College in Quincy we planned a college visit. On short notice I found this place. It is under new ownership and I loved it. The cottage where we stayed next to the main house is lovely! The owner came out to meet us and she is so nice! The cottage was immaculate, the beds extremely comfortable, the bathroom fully stocked with lots of fluffy white towels and sitting on the porch was so great and relaxing. If my daughter decides to come to school here then I will become a regular. I almost do not want anyone else to discover it but I highly recommend this place. read more

Our cabin was perfect! It has a gas stove to cozy up in front of when the night got cold and a sunny private deck out back to soak up some sun. This was a great place for my wife and me to stay. My elderly in-laws live in Quincy, and we needed to visit. Ordinarily, we would stay with them, but because of Covid-19 we decided it would be better to practice social distancing. I would definitely recommend it to anybody coming up to Quincy - the rooms are great, and the amenities were top-notch. We will be staying there again during our expected visits to Quincy. read more

The Feather Bed is a great place to stay. I stayed in one of the cabins, or cottages, and it was very nice. Since I hit my late 40s, I have awakened regularly several times at night. Both nights here, I slept for at least five hours without waking up. I highly recommend this place if you're in Quincy for any reason. read more

We stayed at the Feather Bed Inn during our recent trip to Quincy for the High Sierra Music Festival. The Inn is conveniently located - walking distance - to restaurants and stores. Was about a 5 minute ride to the Festival. Location is on a tree lined street and very quiet. New Owners, Shelly and her husband run a lovely establishment with a graceful touch. Very clean and comfortable. Beds a little soft for our liking, but linens are superb! As Quincy can get quite hot, air conditioning is an added bonus. We rented the Courtyard Cottage for an overnight stay in Quincy. The inn is in a great location behind the courthouse and walking distance to Main Street businesses. The owner Shelley was very friendly and welcoming. The cottage was charming, spacious, and well-appointed. It was a bit chilly when we arrived but as soon as we turned up the heat, it quickly warmed up and was nice and toasty. We enjoyed the gas fireplace and super-comfy bed. Shelley let us look at a few of their other rooms in the main house, and each was incredibly charming, clean, and nicely decorated. A great stay, and we will be back! read more

Just spent 4 nights here with two work associates and this was our first time staying here vs. another nearby place. We all thought this had to be the best place to stay in Quincy. The rooms were great and it was nice and quiet, unlike the other place. Lots of little things added up to a memorable experience and we really enjoyed getting to know the owners Shelly and Colin.
