Quik Smog - Quick, Fast & Professional Service by Jim!! - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Union City, California

I had the "pleasure" of meeting the operator after he wouldn't pick up the phone. I tried to ask him a simple question, but he wouldn't listen... he just continued talking over me. I could barely get a word out. Avoid. read more

I needed a resmog on my recently purchased car Honda because the previous owner had disconnected the battery terminals prior to selling me the vehicle and I hadn't driven it enough yet for all the monitors to clear during the test. I brought my car to the Quik Smog and the man/owner working refused to even service my car. He wouldn't listen to what I was telling him all he saw was 2 black men in a car and didn't even want to do the work. He even stepped back away from me when I tried to show him the paperwork from the previous smog place I went to, he just kept telling me it wouldn't pass and he didn't even want to do it. Needless to say I went down the street to Union City Smog Check on Mission and had my tags 45 minutes later. The owner here at Quik Smog is a racist old Asian man and I do not recommend any people of color look to be serviced here. read more

Super quick smog check - depending if there are any cars before you, of course. We were in and out within 20 minutes. It was a holiday today (Juneteenth) so they had a $20 off special. I would recommend this place for smog checks. Credit cards accepted. No Apple pay. read more

When I arrived there were a few cars ahead of me but you couldn't tell where to go so as to not 'cut' anyone. Cars were parked sideways and lengthwise near the single driveway into the smog bay. While I waited we had to maneuver our cars to let the 'next' car in line through. Really no direction and you just wait until you are acknowledged and hope for the best. Waited for about 30 mins for my turn. Other than the arrival uneasiness, once it's your turn everything went smoothly and I got what I came to do. read more

The Asian guy here is really nice. He does a quick smog test about 20min. Always gets down to business. Been taking our cars here for years now with no issues. We usually find a coupon to use here as Smog checks have gone up. [58R,2023] read more

Quik Smog - Price as of April 1, 2024 - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Union City, California

I have been here to this Quik Smog for the past few years with 3 different cars, ever since I reside in UC and Fremont. Nothing fancy. The "uncle" that run the business and test is pretty quick and as pain free as you can get. The check took no longer than 15-20 mins, I guessed it's all depends on the condition and year of the car. I'm no expert. Weekends is always a tad busy. Sometime you will see a short line of 2-3 cars waiting. Weekday is a bit slow. I don't mind the wait though, the business area is rather spacious and have plenty of open space to stand around and social distance from each other. Sometime you can catch a nice breeze under the trees nearby while waiting. You can even go and grab a soda from the nearby 7-11. Overall, simple, fast, no hassle, decent price... and most of all, it's in the neighborhood. read more

I got a smog test for the first time in my 2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS. I was greeted by the friendly smog technician when I arrived. The first thing he asked me is if I have a Cold Air Intake. LOL. I said no, all stock but it seems to me that he is very familiar with these non CARB compliant device. He was telling me stories about them and they were funny. The out the door cost (plus the invisible certificate for $8.25) was $68. The nice conversation with the smog tech was free. read more

Came here during the middle of the week. It was quick and easy with friendly customer service. Thank you!

4.5/5 - I tried calling this place before arriving, and no answer. I decided to go in person just to see for myself, and sure enough the place was open and in business. No line when I arrived and literally only one technician to do everything. I took a picture of the current price just in case if anyone was interested. I don't know if the business hours/days shown here are correct, but everything else was fine. I was in and out within 10 minutes. The guy was straight forward and gave me a discount (not sure why, but no complaints here), wore a mask, gloves, and put a plastic cover on the driver seat. I subtracted 0.5 of a star just for not answering the phone. read more

I've been coming here for years. Unfortunately, he has lost my business. Came in with a $30 off coupon from ValPak. He said it's not his business and different logo. No it's not! Everything matches. He refused to take the coupon and said if I want the smog he will charge me $68 and FAIL my test! Yep, you read that right. He said he will purposely FAIL MY TEST! I'm blown away by this guy! Really sad that a business owner who has been here for years could be so rude to a yearly repeat customer. read more

I'll drive 10 miles to find another Star Smog station so I never need to return. The fellow who worked today Monday 6/26/23 @ 11:00 am was the rudest person I've encountered in a long time. He told me to "hurry up" multiple times despite me having a permanent disability plate. I told him that I was going as fast as I could and to please be patient. He swore at me and told me to "hurry up" yet again ... BTW: there were no cars behind me. When I asked him to be more polite. he shouted "Shut up, I only needed to test your car. You not important.". When I gave him stink eye, he responded, "F@ck You!" read more

I've had my car smogged here before. Pricey, but was fine overall. I needed a re-print of a recent smog (since valid for 90 days). Quik smog said "no" not even half way through asking my question. DMV said I may have to smog again. Much better smog station a few miles down the road. Also shops charging HALF Quick Smogs prices in San Leandro area. read more

I waiting 30 minutes just to be told I needed my DMV paperwork for the smog check which is not true.

Fast reliable service. Clearly indicated what's included and the retesting. Very reliable and friendly.

CAR FLIER How often do you see a flier on the windshield of your parked car? How often do you use that flier? Almost most of the time you don't use that flier. However there was one particular flier that attracted me. One day at the Union City Bart Station I noticed a flier on my windshield. That flier was a Quik Smog advertisement for $20 off of you smog test. I had to get a smog test for my 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. I normally go to another place to have a smog test but for $20 off I wanted to give Quik Smog a try. On a Saturday morning in August I went here to have a smog test. I didn't realize that Quik Smog was at the side of the oil change center and my car stood in line waiting for what I thought was the smog test. When I got to the front I was notified that the smog test was at the right side of the building. When I drove my car there I was relieved the line wasn't as long as the oil change; there was one car ahead of me. Once it was my turn the process didn't take too long. I showed my Yelp Check-In Offer to James, who would conduct the test, that I received $20 off for the smog test. The smog test took about 15-20 minutes. After the test I was notified by James that my car passed the smog test. Instead of paying $70 or more for a smog test I recommend coming here and show your Yelp Check-In to get $20 off for your smog test. read more

Came here to get my car smogged. He asked if I had done any modifications to it and told him no. I popped the hood and he immediately said this tube is not stock (upper intercooler piping) and I said yes it is stock. He said no it is not and on visual I will automatically fail it so take it back to the previous place that you had it smogged. (I would have but they are closed for vacation for two weeks). Then he started telling me if I try smogging it here he will automatically fail me and then report the previous smog station. Obviously they don't want business. Obvious that the smog tech doesn't know the difference between a stock component and a performance one. read more

Came here for a smog check right after getting my oil change next door (~8:45am) for a 97 Honda which came out to $108 (I passed which is great) however there are a couple of things to consider before coming: 1) the smog took about 45 minutes to get done (partly due to the sir helping me wasn't fully ready at that moment) and 2) I asked the sir if I could use the check-in offer ($20 off a smog) that is on the yelp and he said no with no explanation. I passed which is great, but value for the amount of time I spent here wasn't. read more

Highly recommended. Glad to have them in neighborhood. Will be my go to place for smog check in future.

Website notes facility smogs all vehicle types including RVs, Trucks, Hybids and Diesels.... Well that clearly is not the case as they refused to smog a diesel for me. Recommend to not waste your time with this shop as there are many others just a few minutes drive away. read more

I've never had such a quick and pain-free smog check on my car than with this place. I found it through a yelp search, and based on what I read it seemed like a good place. I arrived there with no waiting. The guy took me right away - explained the fees very carefully - and 13 minutes later, all done! My car passed, paid the fee of $69, and was on my way. Note that the smog check area is actually behind this building, not in front. I didn't realize that until I started walking around and saw it. I highly recommend. By the way, if you're a fan of Baldie's Cafe, it's right next door. read more

Drove up and only had to wait a few minutes for my turn. Price with discount coupon was reasonable.

This has been our go-to smog check station for years. No-nonsense, straight-forward, affordable, and efficient. I always feel like a winner when there's no line, but when there is a line, be patient as James is the solo technician and cashier. I have no reason to go anywhere else! Highly recommended! read more

I brought my company vehicle in and the tech refused to test it because I did not have the DMV paperwork and he would not test by using the VIN. I drove to another station, and they tested the vehicle without any issues. Avoid this place, there are many other better choices. read more

Misread the due date on my smog notice and found this place on Yelp after my go-to place was randomly closed. The gentleman who assisted me was very nice and friendly. Although there were two cars ahead of me, getting my car smogged was quick and easy. James, the technician, is very knowledgeable and a pro at his job and I appreciate his friendliness. This is a busy place; cars kept coming in one after another. I can see that people appreciate the friendly and professional service here.
