Updated review. This place is fishy. I paid for a smog check here last year (2024) as requested by the DMV and subsequently wrote the previous review. I was repeatedly informed by "Fremont quick smog" that the completed smog check passed and will be automatically transmitted to the DMV. This year, 2025, DMV is requesting yet another smog check. I called DMV seven times today and spoke to 4 individuals (with 3 calls dropped). The 3rd individual said "uhh no you did your smog in 2023 and your vehicle requires a smog check every 3 years." I drive a 2016 SUV. Go elsewhere for a smog check. Massive headache, tremendous amount of time wasted, and money wasted. Totally not worth the potential trouble. read more

Fast and efficient. I was at the dentist office and remembered I had to get a smog check for registration and used Yelp to find somewhere local with high reviews. Made the decision to come on the dentist chair and drove here right after. The total cost is $45, there is a $36 coupon in their site and then $7 to send the certificate to the DMV. My car is 22 years old and has two catalytic converters that will probably fail at the same time. Luckily, it was still good this year and the amazing thing about Fremont Quick Smog is I was in and out in 9 minutes and I had no appointment, I would have been out faster if a van wasn't blocking the exit. The owner was not fazed at all by manual transmission and expertly drove my car in and out of the testing station, I've been to smog check places where I've had to move my car myself. There is a small waiting room but there is also a gas station convenience store right next door and the small Taco Los 3 Pasias food truck if you want something more filling but if there is no one at smog check you'll probably be waiting longer for food than you are for your car. read more

I think he the best place and top notch service to go for a Smog Check. He let me know that my car had worn out and cracked air intake boot. I went to an auto body shop after, and they confirmed. Makes sense. I figure that's what was giving my Ac poor performance (I assume, I'm not a car girl) but the performance was better when I had it fixed. Anyways, once I fixed it, I came back to this area to get re-tested and I passed :) thank goodness. My deadline to make dmv payment was a few days after. It takes longer to get coffee than it does to get a smog check here! You can't beat the price, specially with the Yelp Check-in discount. You could even get tacos at the truck there while you wait. You park on the side, go into the office and let em know you want to do a smog, they will tell you know where in line you'll be "after the (color of car), you're next". Update COVID Review for Fremont Quick Smog. As always, I come to Fremont Quick Smog whenever I need a smog check because the experience there is such a no-hassle and quick affair. Big shout out to Jatinder for always taking care of me. Quick observations during COVID: 1.) Still very fast I was In and Out in around 10 minutes even without an appointment and doing a walk-in. Love how fast they can service a smog check so you can go about your day. 2.) COVID precautions observed Everyone wearing masks and they have the barriers when talking/doing the transaction. Sanitizer is also offered in case you want to use it after you touch anything 3.) Cost is the same. As always, it is $27.99 with the coupon on their main website + $8.25 for the certificate. The total will be around ~$36 4.) A/C Cooled The Bay Area has been super hot lately and it was nice that the AC was on inside so I can enjoy the coolness.
