I avoided going to this neighborhood mini store, as the neighborhood becomes a little dicey, when one travels away from the Avenue in this direction, but all else was closed one night, and decided to try it. Pleasantly surprised, it is owned and run by an Asian brother and sister, who both work 7 days a week and are open from 6 AM to 10 PM. Their gas prices are always competitive and their hot food, and po boys are the usual fare, but can range from edible to actually very good. The owner are charming, helpful and generally nice people, who have a great rapport with their customers, including a ton of regular customers. If a regular customer asks them to carry a product that they do not currently stock, they will order and stock for the customer.
Their prices are very competitive for a small Mom and Pop operation, and they do stock a very diverse selection of merchandise.
I would recommend stopping their for your quick, in between big grocery store trip needs. Rose, the sister, always has a smile, and is very eager to help. Steve, the brother is most of the time behind the scenes and does most of the cooking, with assistance from 2 women, who are sisters, who are very upbeat and friendly as well.
