    Tim's Auto Repair & Service

    Tim's Auto Repair & Service

July 3 2019 Super impressed with the service at Tim's:…read more My Dad had just arrived from a 20 hr drive, to meet his new grand baby, with his two dogs and 77 year old sister in tow. He flipped a u-turn at the light and his whole engine seized up. 5:30 am was a terrible time to get a phone call about what happened. Luckily AAA was able to get a wonderful tow service company to drive us to Tim's to drop off the car. I had found Tim's on Yelp with great reviews. Never had been there but knew of it, as we have drove passed it a few dozen times before. It was also convenient because it was right down the street from the hotel where my dad was staying. We made it there 5 minutes after opening. I went in while my dad finished up with the tow truck. I explained the situation. They were understanding of the but apologetic, as they were fully booked till Monday next week! My heart sunk. However, they told me they could get the car a diagnostic test to see what the problem was, since it was early enough to get it looked at. Apparently there were a few other people from out of town needing their car fixed just as quick as we needed our done. At that point I figured we would just have it towed to another shop. Jeff and (I believe) Ray were the ones who helped us. They were extremely friendly and gracious. I received a call as a back up, around 2pm. They found the issue. Minor compared to what we thought it was. They said since it was a smaller repair they could have the parts and car fixed by 4:30!!! I was ecstatic. They knew our dyer situation and were able to work it out. My dad was so grateful for the speedy service they provided. THANK YOU TIM'S Auto Repair Service, you saved my dad's trip from being a total disaster.

Felt very uncomfortable there as a woman. They didn't seem like they wanted business. Not sure if they only work on cars that aren't this decade, but not helpful & a complete waste of my time!

SAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS and just go somewhere else and get a more expensive oil change!!…read more This Valvoline location did an oil change for me the day before we left the state for vacation. I drove home from the oil change, parked in my driveway and went inside. I came back out a bit later to puddles of oil under my Jeep. My Jeep has never leaked oil, so I found this odd and asked my husband to look. The engine was DRENCHED in oil and oil was pouring out from the entire bottom of the engine compartment. He called the location furious and they told him to bring it back in. They had SIGNIFICANTLY overfilled my Jeep with oil...so much that oil spewed out all the way home, all over my driveway, and all the way back to the location and when he got it back to the location, they STILL had to remove more oil, because it was still overfilled, even after all that came out all over my engine, the road, and our driveway. When he arrived back, he also realized they had removed the engine cover when they changed the oil and had not put it back on (they still had it there when he went back, and had not called me to tell me they had it, despite having my phone number on file). And on top of both of those things, they also overtightened the oil filter cap, pinching the O-ring, which caused the excess oil to spray all over the entire engine compartment while driving, soaking the motor, all electronics, coils, etc in oil. So there was no protection for the motor while the oil was spraying everywhere. The technicians completely panicked, apologized, tried to clean the oil off the motor...which they quickly realized would be nearly impossible. They removed the excess oil, replaced the O-ring, and put our engine cover back on and told us we were good to go. They could not get all the oil off, so THEY SENT US TO THE CAR WASH WITH $20 to try to get the undercarriage cleaned. The next day, we left town. We made it less than 200 miles and the Jeep started smoking terribly and sputtering and would not run and we were broke down on the side of the freeway. We called the store manager and he called a repair shop in the town we were broke down outside of and had us go there. They ran some reports and told us we had a cylinder misfire, but were closing for the weekend and were unable to fix it until the following Monday. My husband had to purchase tools and parts and fix it in the auto parts store parking lot so we could get back on the road. The mechanic shop they sent us to told us it was directly related to the oil issue, as the oil and spark plugs were saturated in oil. We also got about 6 miles to the gallon of gas on this trip. We made the trip and came back, and the manager was beside himself with apologies, accepted responsibility for the damage, reimbursed us for the parts and the tools, and had a mobile detail guy come to our house and pressure wash the entire engine compartment, top and bottom of the engine (hopefully this is safe for a motor and did not cause more damage). We have had ongoing issues with this for more than a year. We have spent hours upon hours on over 22 phone calls with Valvoline headquarters, and the multiple area managers the company has cycled through over the year and a half we have been trying to get them to pay for the rest of the damage. They absolutely refuse to cover the rest of the damage. We have had the vehicle to three different mechanics that all state the damage was most likely caused by this incident. We have a warranty on the vehicle that refuses to cover the damage, because they also think the liability falls on Valvoline. We have went back and forth by phone and email over 22 times in the year and a half and now that they have drug it out so long, they say we don't have a foot to stand on because of the length of time since the oil change. We have documents within months of the oil change showing the engine codes for this damage. Upon searching on google, there are countless stories of damage caused to people's vehicles by Valvoline oil change centers. This particular one also caused damage to my mom's car...they even printed on her receipt that they were at fault and would cover issues that arise from what they did wrong. Please save time and LOTS of money and go elsewhere for your oil changes, it is not worth the "convenience" or the coupon price. Hard lesson learned for us, never again! Please let our experience save you some time and money!
