Aamco Transmission replacement. This franchisee charged me $5000 for a remanufactured transmission…read more It failed three times within the warranty period. The first two lasted about 13 months. The third time I picked up the vehicle, it did not run any better than when I dropped it off. I have never experienced anyone who talks as much as Nick, the owner of the franchise, but NEVER say's anything relevant. I contacted Aamco corporation to file a complaint. They called Nick, the owner then called me back (timely) to tell me Nick refuses to return my money. I asked to speak with the head of the department. I left a message and sent two emails to Quinn Callahan. He has ignored ALL efforts to contact him about this issue. This is the worst company I have EVER encountered!!!

Not wanting to give up our travel plans, the women in the front office helped us find a rental company nearby and let us charge our phones. The Meadow Mountain quote was twice the cost of anyone else but I thought because they specialize in Transmissions it would be worth the extra money. Of course when the project was complete it cost $5,000, surprise, surprise. Unfortunately the minute I drove the truck out of their parking lot it would not shift into neutral at a stop sign. It stalled every time I stopped. When I called the gentleman back who owns the shop he was quick to tell me that it was not his problem. I reminded him that I paid twice the cost of anyone else but again was reminded that it was not his problem. Eventually I discovered the transmission was low on fluid. I'm not sure why this was the case because he had just installed it. I would never recommend this shop to anyone Ever.

The second time she got it back it was leaking oil and smoking like crazy... It was not doing that when she brought it in. The fan problem was a simple fix of a new thermostat and they couldn't even figure it out the first 2 visits. The last visit they finally figured it out, but it was smoking and leaking oil when she picked it up this time. So she brought it back to have them right their wrong. Apparently their mechanic broke something on the motor while troubleshooting... Again! They overused the truck while test driving it....I guess it's ok to joyride in the customers rigs while having the rig in their care for two plus week both times they were supposed to be fixing it... And didn't. This is unacceptable any way you look at it. Now they're telling her truck has a broken spacer on the engine causing the oil leak. This was NOT a problem before their mechanic broke it. They won't admit their mistakes and it's going to cost so much to fix, my daughter already paid them $2400, she can't afford to get it worked on by anyone else, and it's not usable the way it is. Sorry for the rant, but this is so wrong that I felt everyone needs to know what kind of business they run. It really looks like they break things while fixing the original problem, so customers have to keep going back and wasting more time and $$$. So, don't let this happen to you!! Unfortunately this is an old trick by mechanics to make more $$$ at the customers expense. If you go to a mechanic for one simple problem to be fixed, you shouldn't have more problems when you pick it up after supposedly being fixed in the first place.
