I needed a replacement keyfob (sadly, I put the last one in the washer by accident and when it came out, it was very unreliable). Ken came to my house, tried to work with the old key to see if he could recover it. The programming worked but the key itself was bad. Fortunately, Ken was able to get a replacement fob within an hour, brought it to my house, and quickly put the program on the fob. Ken was friendly, transparent about the price, and solved my problem very satisfactorily. The price was less than the dealer, the problem was solved on the weekend and in my driveway! I called this company because I needed a new key for my car. The salesman on the phone told me it would cost between $150-$250 depending on the chip and the programming. I explained that I already have the fob and the chip programmed I literally only need him to laser-cut the key that is attached to the fob (I broke my key off in the ignition, and bought a replacement key on ebay. I legit only needed the key part cut). He said, "Ok, for you I can do $120" I said "Just for the key to be cut, no programming needed-- $120 to just laser cut??" He said "Yep". I said "That's too much. I'll call elsewhere." He said "OK, bye." I called American Lock and Key and they said bring the fob on in, we can cut you a new double-sided laser key for $25. So... I went and had my key cut for $25... works perfect. Not sure if this guy just didn't feel like doing it-- or what, but charging almost 500% higher for the same service is 1-star worthy in my book. **Update** Apparently the owner kept my number and after seeing this post he called me an apologized. He told me the person that quoted me the price was a sub-contractor that didn't even work with his company (kind of weird) and then offered to give me a discount on future services. I'm not 100% sure how much of that is true... nobody likes to get caught ripping people off, but I appreciated the gesture and adjusted my stars to reflect 3. Neither good nor bad. read more

And he was pretty on time and gave me a ten minute heads up. Told us what he was doing and that there would be a small cosmetic scratch on the door which was fine just needed to get into the room again. My wonderful boyfriend locked us out of the house and it's a keypad/deadbolt lock too. How many people does it take to open a door?
