Hometown Flooring Designs was one of three businesses that I decided to get quotes. Gary came out to give me the estimate and measured everything with an actual measuring tape. I originally spoke to his wife, Jennifer, who was so personable and friendly. She usually is at the store and I have to say the store is clean, organized, and was decorated for the holidays and it always smells amazing! Jennifer has quite the bubbly personality and is extremely helpful. In the afternoon I chose Hometown Flooring for several reasons one because Jennifer was patient and asked me so many questions and also let me take samples home to get a good idea of what I needed to have done. Especially after I had painting done. I believe in supporting small business, and I really liked the personalized attention that I received from both Jennifer and Gary. After receiving other estimates, I truly believe that I was getting a better value and a better quality of carpet than the other carpet companies that provided estimates. When I decided to move forward with Hometown Flooring, Jennifer was great and keeping me in the loop on when the carpeting would be delivered and when delivery dates would be of a call. Also, Gary called me before my installation just to answer any questions. Gary arrived promptly at 7 am the day of the carpet installation. He had two other men with him that were helping with the install. First of all, I like the carpet and the design of the carpet. I felt that I was making great decisions with the personal attention and patience with my many questions! On top of that the installation was unbelievable! I work from home, and I never heard anything from them while they were doing the job. They were so quiet, professional and respectful of my home. They were extremely clean when they took out the old carpeting and when they installed the new carpet. They did an amazing job and I couldn't be happier with my carpet and with Hometown Flooring! They exceeded all of our expectations…read more We redid a few rooms of flooring (including one bathroom), changed out a lot of the trim, and upgraded the stairs from carpet to hardwood. Peter is probably one of the most professional contractors I've ever hired. He confirmed the start of the project the day before, showed up on time every day of our 3-4 day project, finished at a decent hour (so we could have our evenings to ourselves), and kept me informed about the progress of the project every step of the way. Everything was contracted and professionally handled in terms of invoicing. He made suggestions for how to improve the appearance of our home in certain places and gave us up-front pricing about every additional change we could add on if we wanted (we took all of his suggestions and so glad we did!). He paid such great attention to detail, fixing so many errors throughout the house that previously were there...things I didn't even know needed fixing! So many of our doors were not sealed correctly and the flooring was all a mess, they fixed it all for us. This was a big project for us - we saved for a whole year for this project - I am so happy we chose to work with IDC. Janis and owner Tom answered all our questions, kept us apprised of product delivery and installation dates. Every home has its own idiosyncrasies, imperfections that force installers to improvise solutions few homeowners can come up with on their own. Epic's installers killed it. Owner Tom stopped by 3x to see how things were going, to answer questions and see if we or his team needed anything. Everything went super smoothly. We especially appreciate installer Louie's advice. I thought I wanted transition pieces where the wood floor met tile. Louie scowled his disapproval and suggested another idea with better aesthetics: With expert workmanship, he and his partner created a clean line between the two surfaces (no transition piece). Beautiful! My idea: circa 1980. Louie's solution: Timeless, classic, elegant. Louie could have stuck with the plan. He gave us something way better. Before starting this project, I thought: I'd really like to patronize a small local business -- even if that meant paying more. Surprisingly, Epic's price came in lower than the big box. We are thrilled with the results and will return to Epic for our next floor project.

Bob was great to work with and fast when installing the garage doors - he checked in with us every step of the way, and the doors work and look great. The garage doors have black handles and tinted windows and look amazing - now the interior of the garage is much brighter and it makes it seem bigger.
