As a vegetarian, I usually ignore hot dog stands - but these guys are posted up right outside my door downtown - forcing me to get close enough to notice that they have a VEGGIE hot dog! I notice and appreciate how cautious they are about using separate tongs, and offering separate relish, and doing absolutely everything they can to offer me a truly vegetarian hot dog experience (my first ever!). In all seriousness, the veggie dogs are AWESOME, and I come downstairs at least once a week now to enjoy one. The other great thing about these guys is that they are just cool people. Good old fashion entrepreneurship, the stuff we're missing these days, is what I see when I come here. I've only had them at sj bike party events, but I love that these guys are doing. Good polish dog, he made sure the bun was warm and they were very professional. Cool that you can get it done up many different ways, depending on what city you grew up in: NY, Chicago, etc. I also appreciate the fresh condiments; the chopped tomatoes were a pleasant surprise too. My friends and I see Larry on tuesdays if we're by Sabor night club in San Jose. We usually stop by after we've had a couple shots, but even without the intoxication the dogs are great and the service is real friendly. I happened across Larry's amazing cart on South First Street one rainy night and the delicious aromas were too enticing to ignore. I was hooked from the first bite of my hot link. I've since gone out of my way to go back to his stand and tried the hot dog and polish as well, with similarly great results. The standard hot dog is one of the best I've had all by itself, and then with the huge selection of toppings and fixings, you cannot go wrong. And of course, bacon is always a great option! This is a hot dog cart, with a couple nearby chairs. For a late night meal it's great to find such a tasty option. I've wished on many occasion that I could get a hot link earlier in the day, but it's worth the wait for Larry to cook them up just right. So my son wanted a hot dog vendor for his 12 birthday so I found these guys on the internet. they were the only guys that I could find that would serve food longer than an hour without a crazy fee and serve an entire meal I got the package for 60 meals and paid the extra for chili cheese and bacon toppings. They sent a few guys over early to set up and alex was our server (( shout out to alex)) super sweet kid he was very professional and super cool. He was very social and funny and received my family very well. (We can be horribly vulgar and obnoxious lol hey he was serving weenies ) and never once was he offended or rude. Omg and the food and service was amazing they went above and beyond for the price we paid.
