This zoo is right up Government Street which is perfect since it rolls right into your plans of exploring downtown. This is a tiny zoo. You can be done in 10mins or you can choose to listen to the guide and be amazed! The guide did a fantastic job of explaining things very simply and creating lots of opportunities for folks to touch some of the passive bugs. The most amazing thing was how they had setup the ants showing exactly how ant colonies work. Lots of beautiful tarantulas to see and learn about creatures that I had no idea about before I went here. Loved it! Totally worth the $20 entry fees as an adult.

Two baby goats got the zoomies, and it was a very cute sight to behold. First time I came in the afternoon one of staff came up to me telling me I couldn't wear my attire at the gym (lululemon pants and crop top) because it was inappropriate yet I looked around the room and men were wearing shorts and tank tops. Second time I come in with a small pink UA bag that holds my warmup bands and I have it on the floor next to the rower out of the aisle and within 20secs same woman on me like glue. Then the manager comes over to give me the same talk about how I can't have a bag on the floor. When people go to the gym they generally just want to work out and be left alone. Nothing I was doing was unsafe or at all disturbing to anyone in the gym at that time yet I continually get picked on when I visit this gym. I don't understand why women and people in general can't read a situation and understand not everything in life is so black and white. I can honestly say as someone new to Victoria and new to this gym it's pretty upsetting to be treated this way. I will continue to visit in the mornings and just refrain from going if I miss a session. I really hope the negative attitudes of the afternoon staff don't rub off on the morning. It is at this time we where given an option to either wait for this group to show up (20-30 minutes) or come back in an hour to link up with another group who'd reserved a slot for a group of 6 or more. The person behind the counter obviously had no time for us and further openly mocked us as if somehow we were supposed to know the intracicies of their game scheduling. The person behind the counter became even more condescending and insulting in the face of a couple confused people asking questions to the point of triggering a retort from the mother of the children. This antagonistic behaviour was done in front of the children which leads me to believe I would not trust them supervising children in the first place. Suffice to say we were not able to continue with our interaction and had to explain to the children why they were not going to get to play laser tag that day. I have played lazer tag all over the lower mainland and never had such an unprofessional interaction with someone at one of these establishments... even when the workers were much younger than the person we dealt with.
