I feel bad since only one person was working there, and she's trying her best. There was a mother and son who was giving her a hard time, since the son didn't drink water beforehand and there was paperwork that needed to be approved on their end. It was really messy hearing the conversation between them. You can literally hear everyone's conversation there, like their address, birthday and everything. There's no privacy in that place. I am giving 3 stars because I waited 40 minutes for my appointment. The blood test was quick for me when it was my turn, but I never waited so long to get my blood draw...I don't think I will come back to this location; they need to hire more tech. read more

I recently visited the Quest Diagnostic on Clay Street and it was a unique experience. There is street parking but it's limited and it's on a hill. The office has a small waiting room and three (3) lab rooms where samples are collected. Overall, it's not a bad location but if you can get an appointment in the early morning or late at night, I encourage you to do so. read more

It was my fault that the form was printed wrong, but she made me feel guilty that my colleagues are better than me. I brought a physician's form for Quest Diagnostic and it was first time after pandemic that this is required. I have been doing this with Quest no issue for 4 years previously, with the same company and the same form. This year suddenly there were both options, one for Quest and one for the physician. I was on the phone for one hour with Virgin Pulse that couldn't faxed the form over nor ordered the blood test for me. So after witnessing appointments after appointments and walk-in after walk-in, I was still on the phone trying to resolve this even when I had appointment booked for 2 pm weeks before. Fasted, low in sugar, driven for an hour on the freeway, did not have food for 6 hours and had to be on the phone trying to get this resolved. Nurse said she has 21 years of experience and insisted that I have no idea like I am a dumb f--k that couldn't even print the right form. With massive frustration with my arrival to clinic at 1:00 pm PST, and the whole ordeal didn't ended till 2:30 pm with nothing accomplished, no resolution, no blood drawn, except she offered to talk to my HR to get resolved. No thanks!!!! Not going to let you screw me over at my job either! Broke my phone cover because the phone was passed around so Virgin Pulse rep could speak with nurse. I went to my primary care at 4:30 pm afterwards after food and phone cover replacement, the form was filled out in 5 min. and submitted on time to help me get me the medical insurance credit I needed. read more

Terrible service and poorly managed. On several visits, after I check in Peggy can't find the tests faxed from my Dr Office, and then after searching for 10 min, they magically turn up. my appoints never occur on time, even when showing up 30min early. avoid this location at all costs. read more

I went there today, her system was shut down by some staff from the day before and she tried her best to figure out why her computer isn't working. Usually very quick and simple appointments. However, I'm giving less stars because the lab messed up my STI test results. There was cross-contamination or something because there was a positive titer of syphilis. Had a headache going to the hospital for urgent treatment and talking to practitioners. From the second blood draw it turns out I did not actually have syphilis but because there was nothing significant i was never told about the normal blood test. TLDR: Hospital put me on antibiotics for an STI I didn't have because of a false positive from the lab. read more

Will never go back. Clearly the woman working here doesn't know how to draw blood. She is not friendly either and doesn't understand English very well. Multiple people have reported that they were in pain and had a big bruise afterwards. She poked in multiple places and left a bloody arm which took days to heal. I regularly withdraw blood at other doctors, I have never had any bruise other than a tiny prick. Quest Diagnostics- how is it that you have not done anything about it yet, it's is called negligence. My physician gave me Quest Diagnostics paperwork to obtain a lab test, and based on online appointment times, I decided to go to this Chinatown location. The blood draw itself was quick and uncomplicated, and I was out of there in 20 minutes. As recommended, I left the pressure bandage on for 4-5 hours minimum. Bruising developed overnight and doesn't hurt, but it looks horrible. 1 star for their online appointment system 1 star for no fussing or waiting If not for this bruise, I would've given more stars. I blame Quest Diagnostics management for doing this to their patients and employees. Very understaffed place the person who does the reception is also the Phlebotomist who draws blood. They refuse to hire additional staff and after a urine test you suppose it put in on top of a ledge outside the bathroom very unsanitary. read more

It smells really bad in here, the kind of odor you find in old buildings that haven't been properly ventilated in years and years. Combine that with the odor of latex gloves and autoclaves, and you have yourself a stink that won't quit. Service was quite speedy the day I went, but the phlebotomist REALLY hurt me when she put the needle in to draw the blood. When I took the bandage off I had a bruise the size of a half dollar. I have been to this lab at least a dozen of times now. Yes, it is in Chinatown, it is tiny, it does not smell great like someone else said and the processing time takes a little more time than in some other places because they are not a full facility lab, they just collect. However, the lady that works there is always very nice, polite, always with a smile and good at what she does. She never has to poke me more than once and I never have a bruise after she takes my blood, which is rare. For me personally, this location is convenient and I never had a bad experience, therefore I cannot say anything bad about the place as a whole. read more

I came here at 130pm in the afternoon and it was empty excluding one other person and I. I came here to get one ONE blood sample and it took over 30 minutes to get it done. The other lady was asking a lot of questions about how to get her blood work done at another place, which was fine. But the ONE person working took her sweet time to get to me half an hour later. My 2 year old son was sick & my doctor sent us there for a blood test & a stool specimen to be tested. There was one lady working there & I told her I have my son stool specimen. She handed me an enevlope & instruced me to go find a bathroom outside the clinic. She said it was against company policy to use the bathroom inside the clinic. I managed to get it done outside. Next, she asked me to hold on to my son & told my wife to be ready to shake the blood sample after she draw blood from my son. When we were about to leave, she looked at the enevlope & told me that I didn't it all wrong. If she would have been professional, gave me some simple instruction, the end result would have been totally different. She was rude, unprofessional & expect us to be her assistant too. There is only one lady working the entire place at any time, and if there's more than one person in line, it'll take you 30 minutes+ to finish something that would take half the time elsewhere. She'll put you in a room and then complete paperwork for everybody else in the waiting room instead of handling patient by patient. I come here every couple months and dislike it more every time. The woman running it does not speak great English, is difficult to understand, is unfriendly, and hard to deal with. My info is always entered wrong, leading to months of billing issues and back and forth with Quest. Instructions are unclear. She runs the front desk very slowly. And for those who have to do labs when fasted, this is bad. My standing order is often not in the system. After looking for my order, as I'm sitting there waiting, she tells me my order isn't there. I tell her yes it is, they sent it a week ago. Then she looks again and locates it - in a pile of papers right next to her... Then I'm in the middle of one of my tests and she takes me out of the patient room to the lobby 2 minutes before I'm supposed to take the 2nd and final part of the test. She then goes off to other patients, I do the final part of my test not knowing where she is (not like she was helpful for the 1st part anyways), and leave. I then get a phone call after I've already gotten home! Asking why I left and telling me I couldn't leave yet! I said check the box, I finished the test and left. She then finds it and goes ohhhh. Awful place. The lady who mans the reception also does the lab work and is not helpful. I booked my appt online from work for our annual health screening. The woman, Peggy Lee, couldn't take me because she says the company didn't order one for me and she speaks limited English. She says she couldn't take me in without that. I went back to work to call Quest and the operator says she's supposed to call in and get the order for me. I went back that afternoon and Peggy says that she does not have the # to call. So I obviously I walked out without completing my health screen. Busy place but yet there is only one person manning it. Other Yelpers have placed comments similar as mine but yet they do not do anything. I've had several questionable experiences with Quest on Clay Street in China Town. There is one attendant in particular who always attempts to get my credit card number. Lucky for me, I'm wise to that and never give it to her. My insurance has to be processed first before I make any payments (of which I usually don't need to). She will always tell me that I owe some outrageous amount like $150 or $400. Today was the last straw. She tried to get my credit card number again and insisted that I pay MORE than $400 or no blood draw. All this AFTER she took 20 minutes to use a yellow highlighter and type some things in to the computer. Needless to say, I'm never going back. I've also reported this to Quest. I have blood drawn frequently (usually from Sutter Health), but I decided to give Quest a chance since it was convenient. HUGE mistake. The receptionist/phlebotomist (the only person working the office) was inexcusably rude to me. I'm still kinda shocked that she would treat patients the way she treated me. I also woke up to a nasty bruise this morning from where she drew the blood. Like I said, I have blood drawn frequently and this has never happened to me before. OMG! This is the worst lab. It is on par with what we have experienced in China, but worse! The nurse, Peggy, is a tired old maid with no manners or customer service etiquette. She was very rude to us. We went through the trouble of making an appointment to avoid the long wait. However, Peggy wanted to play a power trip on us, so we waited while she finished her paper work and slowly moved about the office. We were not the only patients waiting, many unhappy faces waiting to be helped. It should be noted that Peggy did not wash her hands before helping my wife with a blood draw. Handling all those patients and paper work, not to mention what else, this has to be a violation of some health code. Additionally, my wife experienced bruising after the fact.
