I've been to some medical clinics in the past where technicians try at least 2-3 times on my arms, hands, butterfly technique,... and they still aren't able to get a blood sample! I went to this Labcorp location for a pre-employment drug screening and was extremely disappointed by the lack of accessibility for disabled customers. The restroom was so small and poorly designed that I could not safely bring my cane inside. As a result, I fell in the restroom. Afterward, the lab technician informed me that I would need to return in 3 days, stating he was not willing to give me another attempt that day. I am genuinely concerned that a medical laboratory does not have basic ADA-compliant accommodations for patients with mobility needs. Accessibility is not optional--it is a requirement, especially in a healthcare setting where patients may already be vulnerable. This experience was unsafe, dismissive, and unacceptable. I went in to get routine bloodwork ordered by my doctor and the nurse who drew my blood was doing a horrible job. She stuck the vein and then was moving the catheter around as she was swapping the vials and left me with a very sore arm. 4 days later my arm is bruised and I have blood leaking from broken capillaries. read more

Totally disgusting disservice. This is not the first time something like this has happened to me there. I found this time especially revolting. I made an appointment for 10:30 in the morning and received confirmation. When I checked in at the kiost it said my waiting time would be 2 1/2 hours. I went to the desk and told them, they said they'd call me. At 10:45 I went back to the desk and they said I had no appointment. I showed them an email. Then they couldn't find the orders from 2 doctors. The doctors office had assured me they were sent in. I fasted for this as well as stopped vitamins for a week earlier, and avoided some favorite foods. I stopped going to Quest for similar reasons. Only the 2 to choose from. Went to this facility today for my blood draw. I am still displeased that all the SF LabCorp facilities close at 3:00 PM (forcing me to come back again today). How do they expect the average working person to get lab work done? The hours force us to miss time at work. The wait time in the morning is longer because most people need to go first thing to get to work - since they can't come later in the day. That said, the persons at this office were reasonably friendly and efficient. The gentleman who did the blood draw is clearly experienced and there was no pain or bruising. 4 stars for the service - minus 1 star for closing at 3 pm. read more

This location is a mess. The reception desk is behind a tiny window with two staff members crammed into the office. Not only does this create a blockade at the window, it also means the staff are openly discussing customer testing, billing details and personal details right in front of other customers at the window and broadcasting it to the waiting room. I had an appointment and sat waiting for 45 minutes while several walk-in's that came in after me were seen. My sense is that most people only review a phlebotomy center when they are disgruntled. I had an excellent experience. The check-in was quick, the people working there were very professional, the place was clean, all good. Of course, I think I got lucky that it wasn't crowded. Sometimes, I'm sure that the random nature of when people drop by will make for a much longer wait. In the future, if I come by and it's a long wait, I think I'll just come by again some other time. And that's what I'd suggest for other people, if possible. read more

Labcorp is possibly the worst run company I have ever encountered, and the Napa, Villa Ln facility is undoubtedly the worst of the worst. One set of online hours of operation states that the office is closed on Mondays and open the rest of the week.  (My son discovered this as he was about to drive for an hour to the facility).  However, the next day, another set of hours stated that the office was closed on Tuesdays but open on Mondays. And then another set listed everyday. (This sounds like a joke, but it is not.)  Finally, after reading customer complaints about walk-ins, etc we made an appt.  (Apparently, online it says they take walk-ins until 11 but when you get there it's actually only until 10.) . So, we  made an appt. CONFIRMED for Wednesday (which all sources seemed to agree was a valid day).  My son drove for an hour to the clinic; waited his turn only to then be told that the "Oh! ... Employer Drug Tests" weren't available that day and that he should drive for ANOTHER hour to try a different facility!. What a waste of people's gas, money and time!! -  If Sally Sue is out that day, why would there not be a 2nd or 3rd person trained to run that important test KNOWING how many people have to take it? Literally NO ONE in the facility can handle a cup of urine??  (I would ask to speak to management but I don't think there is any management at that facility. Also they literally NEVER answer the phone, although the outgoing message loudly proclaims that someone will return your call, blah, blah, blah. So you cannot get any answers to ANY questions before making the journey.)  They should just stop saying they provide this test.  My son lost wages because of Labcorp; he had to start a week late due to their incompetence.  And he almost lost the new job completely, because the mandatory test had to be taken within a tight timeframe and Labcorp caused him to lose so much time. I will be sending this information to the Better Business Bureau (although I'm sure they already have multiple reports). And if I receive the usual tepid and utterly useless "apology" from the Labcorp robot to this post, I will include a complaint about that in my report to the BBB. read more

In spite of all negative reviews, my experience was very quick and simple. I reserved an appointment at 10:15 for a drug screening, but came around 10:00 and was called on like a minute or two later. The technician gave me some instructions, allowed me to collect my urine sample, then had me sign a few documents. I was out within 10 minutes, maybe even less. I left the building by the time my actual appointment reservation was up! I didn't find it busy as some people have talked about. When I got there, there was only one person in the waiting room and when I left, there were 2. You could probably walk-in and be seen fairly quickly, but to play it safe, do reserve an appointment if you can. If you make an appt, you don't need to wait for a text saying you are ready to arrive, just go in. I never got one and it wasn't a problem. read more

I had to go to labcorp for my annual physical again. This time they said they don't have a working blood pressure cuff and it will take one month to get another blood pressure cuff. The check in process was fine but they couldn't do even take a simple blood pressure test. I had to go to tenderloin instead where they had a blood pressure cuff. II wonder what's new next year. Their check in system is really messed up. I have an appointment scheduled for 2pm today and got a text at 12 saying my technician is ready. I ignored it because I was still at home and now I'm waiting in my car after checking in for my 2pm. No response in 25 min. Edit: I think the best thing to do is skip online check in and just go into the lab because once I did they saw me pretty soon! I just went to get some routine bloodwork. I had to argue with the lady in the office to give me a copy of the paper I signed authorizing payment. I thought I was going to have to make her give me the original and leave. She relented rolling her eyes and sighing theatrically. When she put it in the copy machine it turned out she needed to refill the paper. I hope this wasn't the reason she tried to refuse to give me a copy of my own signed document. If I'd been younger I wouldn't have known how to put my foot down. I've never had this experience in a medical office. The blood draw chair looked like it hadn't been wiped down since at least yesterday and when same lady drew my blood she taped the cotton ball on afterward with so little tape that it came off as soon as my feet hit the pavement. The shadow of a bruise is starting to appear already. I've always had a good experience here before but going forward I will either choose a different location or lab company entirely. Silliness like today is not where I want to spend my patience. To be clear, I don't want her in trouble but Labcorp needs to tell her to get her act together. I don't need obsequious customer service but a little more professionality would be great. read more

To add on to my last review on how bad this labcorp is, my doctor told me they missed a draw for one of the labs so now I have to go to another lab to get more blood drawn. This makes it extremely convenient when you have to fast for your labs and take time off work in the day. read more

It's been about 10 years since I last got blood drawn because I hate needles and the nurse poked me a ton of times when she couldn't find my vein, so I was long overdue for lab work. I made an appointment for 7:30 am, and was fortunately the first patient there. Orland was the person who helped me. He counted before putting in the needle, which I liked, and then the blood draw was done shortly after. He only had to poke once. read more

These two stars are for no Covid protocols and the center being short-staffed (not their fault). This corporation needs to ensure Covid protocols (disinfection after each patient leaves a chair/armrest and common surfaces) are in place. Also, when something falls on the floor, it should be discarded immediately and not used! People WITH appointments were furious and the mixed messages from the app and the experience they were having. Management needs to ensure more staff are present, that hygiene protocols are followed and that appointments are honored. I do not like this location, it always seems dirty. Last time I had to give a urine sample, it was in a bathroom with no shades on the windows - you know how dense the buildings are there. It was humiliating. Yesterday everything seemed to be going smoothly until the tech JAMMED the needle in my vein. I have a good vein and there is absolutely no reason to use such force. More pain when she pressed the the cotton ball on top of the injection site. Why so much force, I'm a senior with skinny little arms, but I'm not going to bleed out from a blood draw. I got home and had a huge bump where she injected, and bright red marks from the tape she strangled my arm with. Today the bump is gone, but there is a big red spot and bruise. This has NEVER happened before, even after I had 18 tubes drawn at another place years ago before a surgery. Lastly, she folded the cotton swab she later placed on the injection site before putting gloves on, so I'm concerned I might also have an infection because this place is not clean. My bad for not speaking up about that. read more

Came here for my lab work ordered by MD. After checking myself in, the person behind the counter informed me she could not find my order. She sat and stared blankly at me. That's it. She did nothing to help me and did not check the proper spelling of my name. She told me it was up to me to circle back to the doctor to get it. I called the doctor and yes they sent it and yes it is in my correct name. It is easy to help people but it's is despicable to refuse to even do your job. It was there but aside from jumping the counter to find it I was at the mercy of a completely unprofessional lazy A-hole. read more

Didn't get my blood drawn until 35 minutes later which was highly inconvenient. The person at the front desk was very unpleasant to talk to as well. On top of that, they couldn't even figure out my blood work papers. And when I wanted to leave because it was taking too long, they wouldn't let me. When the Brown & Toland Medical Group switched their laboratory services from CPMC to LabCorp several years ago I experimented with several of LabCorp's San Francisco locations. This LabCorp office on Post Street near Divisadero Street was maybe the third location I tried. There are two LabCorp locations along Post Street about 20 blocks apart. This location seems to get much fewer patients than the downtown location. I believe for that reason the waits that I have experienced here have always been rather short. Most of the time I make an appointment through the LabCorp website, but during my two most recent visits I did not and still experienced little to no waiting. I'm certain in my case part of that success comes from visiting during non-peak hours usually around 2 PM or so since on most days I don't start work until 4 PM. The staff here is friendly and professional, and they always answer any questions I might have satisfactorily. I've never had any problem with the blood draws. As recommended by my doctors during the minimum 12 hours of fasting prior to the draw I consume a lot of water making my veins much easier to locate. I've never had any of their technicians have to poke into my arm more than once to draw blood, and once that needle is in I'm always fascinated by how quickly they can collect several vials of blood. Over the years I've used this lab maybe 5 to 6 times so this location is now my go-to whenever my doctors order lab work to be done. I went in to get a blood draw. I've been to this location a couple of times in the past for my annual physicals. As usual the staff were disorganized, and mildly unpleasant but this time they weren't their usual unprofessional selves, they were a lot worse. I had my blood taken by an older woman today, though the man dealing with the customer in the other chair didn't seem all that professional either: he was evidently stressed out and had very shaky hands, definitely what you want with someone wielding a needle around you. The woman in his "care" looked like she was in pain from an amateurish application of a tourniquet. The lab coat wearing lady that I had got me into her chair and spent some time trying to find my vein. Once she found it, she spent no more than a second cleaning my arm, two cursory swipes of an alcohol pad. She then tried to find my vein again but was having trouble. She eventually got frustrated, said a few choice words in Russian and then tore off the finger off of her glove. She proceeded to poke her unwashed finger around on my arm, and then stuck the needle in, ignoring me when I tried to get her to stop. This lady should be fired! If you expect a professional and sanitary environment, you should avoid Labcorp at all costs. read more
