How efficient Quest has gotten. Over the course of the scheduled appointment I received frequent reminders via text. What a difference from a few years ago. In this Covid-19 world walk ins are difficult and Quest sets the expectations is a friendly non-confrontational manner. You will be advised there is a zero to 4 hour wait, please register and wait for their text. I had a scheduled appointment. I arrived on time and checked in via the text and at the iPad kiosk. Masks mandatory. There was a 1 minute delay from my 7:45 am appt. My nurse was friendly and courteous. She found my vein right away and there was NO pain when she inserted the needle. First time that's happened. She filled up the vials in an efficient manner and I was out in 5 minutes. I have been to this facility twice now and highly recommend it. A very pleasant experience. Bonus: there is a TV monitor on the wall with your name and appt time in the order of who is next. It alleviates the pressure of not knowing when you are next. read more

Great experience at this Quest today. My usual 17th street Fort Lauderdale location was closed for renovations so I figured I'd give this a shot. I arrived early and was the 3rd in line at 5:45. By the time they opened there were probably 10 in line and more coming. Signed in quickly at the kiosk and had a seat. I think I was called by 6:10. The phlebotomist, Chris, was friendly and experienced and took a large draw of about 12 vials for many tests. I was out by 6:25. read more

I understand that many jobs are understaffed, but making it so they take appointments only instantly invalidates the majority of the customers that come to take a test in the first place. I am required by my job to take a drug test before my first day of employment and thanks to the lack of communication and the fact that they don't answer the phone I now have to wait and am unable to start working until Quest Diagnostics decides to grant me an appointment. I came in and my check in process was easy on the tablet,I was called In less than 5mins.I told the black nurse nicely that I have my partner quest paperwork from my Dr on my phone and she gave me the only nasty look and replied with such a bad attitude and unprofessional manner. If you can avoid this location, do so. I understand most places are short staffed but that does not constitute attitude and unprofessionalism. The que stated my wait would be 25 min and 1 hour after waiting I asked how much longer it would be when the technician responded I leave at 3PM. Really that is the response. So you expect people to just sit and wait 3 hours???? How about giving an accurate response such as It might be another 30 min or 1 hour based on where you are in the que. Worst place to get lab work done, never had a bruise because of a blood sample before, it hurt for almost 2 hours.

No privacy and unprofessional. They ask you what tests you are getting out loud in front of everyone for them to hear. Waited an hour for a very very simple test. Also if you forget your face mask they refuse to offer you one of their masks, kick you out, and make you wait all over again a 2nd time. Horrible experience. I had an 8:30 appointment, arrived at 8:20, checked in on their machine (no live person at the desk), and waited. At 9:30, I asked if there was a problem, others who arrived later were being seen. The guy who said he was the lead said I was a walk-in and would have to wait. I said I was not a walk-in, I had an 8:30 appointment. He said I did not check in until 8:42 so my appointment was canceled. I said that was incorrect, I checked in before 8:30. He rudely exclaimed, "Well, the computer says you didn't check in until 8:42 and the only way you'll be seen today is as a walk-in." They have a screen on the wall that supposedly shows the approximate waiting time. Three times my name was at the top with just a one minute. Each time, my name dropped down the list to a ten-minute wait. What they don't tell you is that your name drops each time a patient with an appointment comes in. After waiting 1 1/2 hours, I left without being seen. read more

Stay away from this place. The worst experience ever. The staff are super rude and very unprofessional. At first I've been ask to wear a mask (not required by law anymore but whatever), when I asked if they have an extra one, the lady screamed "nooo and we are not gonna see you without it"...ok, luckily I had one in the car and when came back, been ignored for a good 30min, I guess bc I missed my turn, but no one was inside or in the waiting room. Finally made it inside (I wish I never did lol). It was the most painful experience in my life, my arm was swollen for 2 days and I couldn't lift it up, it followed by a huge bruise...the worst part about it, I think she did this on purpose bc when I mentioned that it was very painful she just sarcastically smiled and walked away. Really unprofessional. You walk in and if you're lucky someone sitting and waiting will let you know that you have to sign in at one of the kiosks on the side. Otherwise, don't walk in and head to the window and wait for someone. No one will come and attend to you. There's a written sign on a board that says something along the lines to sign and and be seated and wait to be called. They'll scream your name without making it to the door to escort you. They'll sometimes tell you when and where to go. No customer service care provided here. They're very fast especially directions especially with their multi-step instructions. Im pretty alert and oriented so I know how to follow directions. I literally had to repeat the instructions so I could perform. read more

Our first time at this location. I made an online appointment for my daughter and the check in process was a breeze. We checked in via text link 10 minutes prior to our scheduled appointment and my daughter was called within 5 minutes of arrival. The phlebotomist was polite and attentive to make my daughter feel comfortable. I'm not sure why so many negative comments. We were in an out quickly as possible. It's the fastest running Quest I've been to so far. I recommend to make an online appointment and to check in via their text link on the day of your appointment and if you expect others to be polite then maybe try being polite yourself. read more

I made an appointment two weeks prior, and a few minutes after I sat down I was called to my appointment, the lady was bit rude and didn't respond when I greeted her, I tried multiple times to be nice and make conversation to just be shut down or ignored, she started to prep me to draw my blood, and was being very rough, she didn't warn me when she put the needle in and every time she would grab a new tube to get more blood she put it in very roughly so the needle got pushed around a lot it was a terrible experience, and after she just handed me a cup and said to urinate in it when im done just leave it in a basket, than she just walked away and started talking to a co worker of hers, over all she was just completely unprofessional and she shouldn't be working with people if she's just going to be rude, I was left with a weird bump on my arm, something that has never happened after my blood has been drawn over all it was just a horrible experience! read more

I would never come to this location again. It makes me wonder how these individuals were hired if they do not have any compassion or patience with the patients...very terrible. A man was told very rudely that it was pointless to wait near the check-in window to drop off a sample and when the lady finally came to him she rudely asked why did he give this sample. Educate the man don't embarrass him with your tone and language. Worst experience. When Quest is doing their hiring they need to do an extensive check on these people. Just to drop off a specimen sample which included all of my personal info from my Doctor, I am still waiting in possibly a COVID infested environment for almost 2 hours. Why is there no specimen drop off container. This is the absolute worst QD location. I wish I could give ZERO stars. The staff is absolutely horrible. You can check in as a walk in and leave for the day. You won't be seen until several hours after. The place is full of people and a line out the door. This location has the best phlebotomists! The location in Sunrise (perimeter of Sawgrass Mills mall) is closer to me but I had multiple bad experiences there. Their phlebotomists didn't know what they were doing, I walked out one day after multiple attempts poking my arm trying to find a vein. I've never had a bad experience at this Plantation location. They all have a great hand; barely feel the pinch. I agree with other reviews that the front office needed some work but I just went in today and it ran very smoothly. Well I made an appointment for 11am for a pre employment urine drug screen. I arrived at 10:30 hoping to get in sooner. They do take walk ins. I signed in and sat down in a waiting room with about 10 other people. They called my name where I was sent to another window for processing only to be herded into another waiting room like cattle with the rest of the people. I didn't get called for another 30 minutes. They have no regard for people's time. They laugh and chit chat amongst each other while we wait with exploding bladders. The test itself took 6 minutes at the most. What a joke. Glad I only have to do that once. There was another guy waiting almost 90 minutes as a walk in for a drug screen as well. He was not very happy. Most people were very disgruntled. It was also about 60 degrees in there. Absolutely horrible! read more

UPDATE: since posting my original review, I've been back to this location and it seems like they may have made a few improvements. The vibe is a little bit better. Also, my favorite phlebotomist, Shanie, is the best. Ask for her when you go. ~~~~~ First off, I've been doing a lot of blood work lately, and this is where I go most of the time because it's a convenient location. Long story, short, this location does have room for improvement, but I don't think it deserves most of its one star reviews for a few reasons. All of the phlebotomists are competent, and a couple of them have good bedside manners. I don't know if the rest are just unhappy people, or they are being worked too hard and not recognized for their work, or don't trust their coworkers, or something else entirely. Points to a management issue when it's that pervasive. Second: the other comments about the front desk staff are accurate; they seem annoyed at those people who don't understand that *everyone* should check in at the kiosk. They even went as far as to block the window with the sign that says "sign in at the kiosk". Again, something that seems like a management issue. Something that might be more effective would be to install a sliding glass door and keep it closed, unless they are calling someone in. Third: There is only one bathroom available for general use, the rest are reserved for drug testing. Fourth: There aren't quite enough chairs for when it's busy. Overall, the vibe in this place is one of people who don't particularly enjoy working with one another and/or are having a bad day, everyday.They get the job done, professionally, but they seem like they could use some recognition. read more

The only good thing about this place is that opens at 6am and is convenient for people that go to work early in the morning but other than that they are HORRIBLE. I'm so disappointed at this place because I came on Wednesday, walked in gave my blood order to the nurse, she did what she had to do. They were supposed to fax my tests results the same day to my doctor but they didn't and faxed it the next day. Two days later I had to come for more blood work and I was praying they don't do the same thing they did since it was very important for my doctor to get my test results that day. Well my doctor got the results late but not only that, they did the wrong test order. I'm definitely not coming back to this facility. read more

My mother arrived an hour and a half before closing. Her lab orders came in a half an hour before closing after she asked staff repeatedly to her get the lab order from her physician. She had to call the office herself. She sat and waited patiently. At 3, they tell her they could not take her. The rudeness and heartlessness of this staff - I've never experienced anything like this before. My mother had tears down her face and I explained to the staff that she has cancer, these labs were crucially important to her treatment, my father is in hospice care and they are both housebound, and I was only in town until the following morning so she would not have transportation. The staff, in particular the supervisor, Shameika, was unbelievably rude. Even after I showed her that the lab orders arrived 30 minutes before closing, she refused and said it wasn't her problem. As an attorney I feel this behavior borders on medical malpractice. This is not how I expect a large healthcare organization to be run. I'm sure I'm just one in a sea of bad reviews, but collectively this seems to be true of most experiences at this location. I hope this is truly taken seriously by leadership at this company. Reputation is everything and there are certainly other alternatives for diagnostic testing out there. read more

I've been to this Quest location three times now, and they've always been prompt, courteous, and professional. They even went so far as to hold my appointment for me when I arrived only to realize I'd left my doctor's prescription at home and had to drive the twenty minute round trip to retrieve it. The space is pretty grim looking, and I wouldn't want to work in that room myself, but that doesn't have anything to do with their ability to do the job, which they did just fine. The only real shortcoming I noted was that the bathroom had clearly been used pretty badly by a previous patient or two, and no one had cleaned up. read more

This Quest Diagnostics used to be amazing, but the last two times I have been here in recent months, it has been disappointing. The attitude from a few of the technicians is the main reason. They are visibly unhappy and treat their patients accordingly. Today , October 1, 2021 the lady up front is completely unhelpful. She does not listen and literally barks answers at people. I don't even know why they have her up front. There were a few people sitting down for more than 45 minutes and when they asked her how much longer it would be she just told them they had to wait. Luckily the patient was persistent and asked her to check, that's when he found out he was not even on the line as he had not been told to register. Another elderly patient was unable to register herself in and had to ask one of the other patients for help. Meanwhile, the technician was right there sitting next to the registration system and did not assist her. What's worse is she was talking to a colleague telling her that she doesn't care. The final and possible worst issue was how packed the waiting room was. The seats were arranged next to each other instead of the standard Covid recommendation. One thing to note, not all of the technicians are the same, and some are really good, but no one deserves to have to deal with the one supposedly registering people today. read more
