This was the best visit to a Quest center in months! On Friday, October 17, I checked in online, and went into Quest waiting area. Bethany came out to get me, and brought me to her station. She already had my paperwork in the system from my rheumatologist. She was funny, gracious, patient, and informative. She went over everything necessary for today's visit from checking my name on the vials to my insurance. When it came time to draw my blood, I did not feel a thing. She was incredible! I hope that when I return to this center that I will get her again. Or I hope that all of the people here are as gracious, informed, and helpful as she is so that it won't matter who I get! read more

My 5 year old son needed a bunch of blood tests done last week. We couldn't have had a better experience! We were taken back quickly, and the phlebotomists were wonderful. He was very nervous going in and had cried and screamed the last time he had blood drawn. However, they put him at such ease and talked with him and he barely flinched when the needle went in. Then they talked to him the entire time and explained what they were doing every step of the way. They joked with him and made him feel comfortable every moment. This was the best possible experience we could've had for him and we will definitely use them again! read more

I have terrible veins, seriously, and usually phlebotomists cry or are as frustrated drawing my blood as I am having them do it. Quest Diagnostics wrote the book on making blood tests easy!!!!! I needed to have some tests run for my annual physical and totally dreading it until I remembered one of my earlier visits for pre surgery work ups. First off, the one in Palm Harbor is easy to get to, there is ample parking, the place is incredibly clean and the staff is really pleasant without being obnoxious! Checking in was a breeze and they maintained Covid protocol and they were right on schedule. The whole process was truly painless, quick and you can have the results sent to you if you open an account. I cannot say this is a place I would like to hang out at, but they make the entire procedure as stress free as possible! read more

I just go back from taking my 10 year old. When we arrived at 2:45 there was about 8-10 people in the lobby. My son had to go to the bathroom so I knocked on the glass door since no on has been in our out for about 20 min. After a few minutes of knocking on the door. This rude phlebotomist came out angry and open the door only to tell me she was busy and could not help me. She didn't allow me to ask if my son could you use the bathroom. Needless to say, I was appalled at her demeanor and the entire lobby said that was very rude of her. I decided this was no way to treat patients/clients so we left. I will try another location and hope for the best. This was an awful experience for my son to see. read more

I like this location because the employees here can always get my blood drawn efficiently and more importantly, accurately. I have difficult veins and am a "difficult stick" so I appreciate when someone can easily find a vein and not have to go through my vein in my hand. You can make appointments, but it is just as easy to pull up the ap or website and pull up the location to see what the walk-in wait time is going to be. On 9/16/22 I went to Quest Diagnostics in Palm Harbor in order to get my annual bloodwork done and to get a colon cancer test kit. I have gone there annually for several years for this purpose. I had changed employers since my last visit but as is the standard procedure I gave them my new insurance info before any services were performed. They did not express any concerns regarding my insurance coverage and proceeded to draw blood from me. A few days later I had the results of the blood tests and a few days after that I received an invoice in the mail for the entire amount. My insurance was not listed on the invoice. I called their billing department and I was told that they do not accept my insurance. When I asked why they didn't mention that fact BEFORE performing the service they said I should contact my insurance. I did and they confirmed that they don't do business with Quest. Why wouldn't Quest Diagnostics tell me that in advance so that I could decide whether or not I wanted them to continue? I think their actions are highly unethical and just plain wrong. I have tried to negotiate the bill but they are not interested in anything less than the full amount due. I have refused to pay the bill and now they are sending me to collections. I am willing to pay half in order to satisfy my obligation but I refuse to pay the full amount. So now I will have a blemish on my credit report and my score will drop. I feel that I was totally wronged by them. When I gave them my insurance info and they did not tell me they don't accept my insurance, I interpret that to mean that they do accept it. I work for a large home care company and we would never ever pull a stunt like this. read more

Absolutely HORRID veinapuncture techs. They try could give a shit about patients and it shows! I have good veins, I get my blood drawn at least every six months at the VA with ZERO problems. Here at quest the lady went deep in to my muscle, had to back out and replunge to get blood! I had a deep bruise that lasted a week!! It's almost as if she did it on purpose because she didn't like me for some reason!! NEVER GO HERE. The time before this I actually walked out after two tries in both arms. My last visit was about 2 years ago. I changed doctors since then, and was directed elsewhere for lab work further away from my home. I started to suspect fluctuating lab reports and lost confidence in them. I asked my doctor for an alternative and he directed me BACK to Quest, 5 minutes from my home! I went today for the first time. I prefer human interface but found the phone and online appt. system to be quite effective as I scheduled 4 hours prior to my appt. today! I must say that Cheryl was still as pleasent as ever and made me feel comfortable. Sherry drew my blood and was just as nice and professional. People will be the first to complain but last to praise. I make it a point to give proper attention to both. Here's the bottom line! I am glad to be back in a great environment with a great staff! Quest Diagnostics - Just visible behind a strip mall. - Laboratory Testing Near Me - Palm Harbor, Florida

This is my primary provider for lab work. I've always gone here w/ no issues. This particular visit, as soon as they texted me to tell me it was time to come in, I stepped inside and this man was standing at the front door in a white lab coat. He asked if I was Molly...?" I barely got out "yes" before his arm swings around and he aims this thermometer at my head to take my temperature. I jumped backwards and threw my arms up in front of me and asked him what the hell he was doing. He acted very surprised at my reaction and said "I'm trying to take your temperature." I told him he is never to point anything at my head, and to ask me first if I want a forehead or wrist temp. These people really need to stop aiming things at your head because they never know who they're doing this to. If I was a vet who had a bad experience and was gun shy, I would've knocked him on his butt. They need to stop taking our temperatures this way and we need to stop allowing them to do so. The wrist gives a more accurate reading anyway. So the phlebotomist comes out to get me and asked me why I was yelling at his guy. I explained to him that he threw me off by immediately coming at me with that and he should never do that to someone esp when they don't know their background. read more

If you have a kid getting blood work, go to Hailey - she's great! My last experience here (a few years ago) wasn't great - the male phlebotomist I got had an unfriendly attitude which made the appointment very awkward, so I usually go to a different location. BUT I had to get my son a morning fasting appointment and this location had the only one left. We are so lucky and thankful that we got HAILEY as the phlebotomist - she was amazing! She was very friendly and helpful. My son was so scared and she did a great job conversing with/distracting him and playing it down to ease his fears. She was also very good at keeping the pain down - she used the smallest needle (same one they use for babies) and he said it barely hurt! He'd had blood taken at the pediatrician's office a month before and said that one hurt, which is why he was so afraid to have it done again. If we have to get blood work done in the future, we'll be sure to come back here and ask for Hailey! read more

This is my first time going to this location. I would HIGHLY recommend making an appointment beforehand. I made an appointment for 9:15 am and walked in around 9:05 am to about 10 people already in the waiting room. I waited only 10-15 minutes..while many of the people in the lobby continued to wait. The employees didn't have much personality, I think they were a little frazzled because it was very busy. I will definitely come back to this location if they have available appointments. read more

Here we go; it's overbooked and understaffed. Very difficult to get an appt within a two week time and if you don't have an appt expect to wait...a long time. I've been having to deal with this place for a long time and I'm writing this review based on my 2 experiences this week. My doctor want me to get labs in a short time (3-4 days) to check the level on my white blood cell count after finishing my treatment. Since I couldn't get an appt within that time frame I went on Tuesday at 6:30 as a walk-in. After waiting an hour I got called in the lab said I didn't have any orders from the doctor there. At my request my doctor called Quest on that same a.m. and Quest admitted that the orders were there but the technician wasn't aware of where they were. Again I can't get an appointment for the next 2 or 3 days so this a.m. I went back at 6:30 a.m. to try again. I left the waiting area at 8:15 (1:45 minutes later) since there were still 8 people ahead of me with an appt. and I was the 2nd person on standby. This is not the first time that Quest said they didn't have my RX, they've also lost my appt before, misdiagnosed my lab results, sent incomplete labs to my doctor and lost my lab work entirely. I'm forced to use quest since it's the only lab my out oof town doctor can get the results for oon line. It's a nightmare to deal with them almost every time I go there I have issues with them.... read more

So I'm terrified of getting blood drawn. It's bad. I get the cold sweats, high blood pressure, it's awful. Quest did it the best they could. I had to go in just for a standard blood panel. I made an appointment and got in the next day. I had to wait about 15 min before I was take back. They were really busy though. The lady who did my blood was awesome. I told her how scared I get. She used a little needle and was able to get my tiny vein the 1st try. She talked to me about her pets the whole time to keep my mind off the horror going on in my arm. Quest is a great place to get blood taken since they do it ALL day everyday. They've gotten good. I recommend coming here for the nice and understand staff! read more

The Palm Harbor Quest location is excellent. It's easy to go online and create an account. From there you can order any test you like or have your doc fax whatever they want. They take appointments, but I never bother as it rarely takes more than 20 minutes to get in. Alejandra is one of their great techs. Highly skilled, patient and kind. She went above and beyond today to be perfectly certain she got everything I needed done and sent to two different docs. I cannot speak highly enough of her. read more

At least one staff member needs training in compassionate care. Having blood drawn can be difficult for children, and infinitely more so for a child who has autism and doesn't understand what is happening. My husband went to this location yesterday and my 6yo autistic child had a very tough time, causing his dad to have to restrain him in order to get the blood taken. Despite witnessing this commotion, a staff member felt the need to reprimand my husband bc my son's pants had come down in the back while restraining him. It would be nice if the staff member had tried to help, or at least been kind, rather than taking the opportunity to be mean-spirited and add to an already stressful situation. read more

Absolutely pathetic system for scheduling and service. There is no receptionist when you enter, information goes into a kiosk - no problem. The screen displays walk-ins and Who has an appointment. When I arrived I was showing as the second individual with an 8 minute wait time - - 50 minutes later, I asked one of the techs why I wasn't being called in. First they told me I wasn't in the system, after I showed them I was, they said others were there before me when clearly they weren't. They then tried to tell me the others had appointments, and I had to refer them to their own monitor. Three blatant lies without trying to figure out what was wrong with their system!! Quest Diagnostics in Palm Harbor is terrible both in practice and patient services. I do not recommend them whatsoever. I scheduled an appointment online and received a confirmation number (useless). My appointment was at 9:30 a.m. and I was in the waiting room at 9:15 and never left the area. On entering there is no receptionist, no way to reach anyone if there is a problem or concern. I check in through a text and then went to their kiosk which is supposed to make them more efficient and the process easier, but it was a joke. I checked in and that reflected on a huge monitor. As I sat in the waiting room. I witnessed them take the wrong patient back, and turn away a lady that was 1 minute past her appointment time (even though they state they have a 10-minute grace period). As time ticked away, I began to notice they were taking people back who signed after I did. I attempted several times to tell the employees who were grabbing people that an error occurred but that was like trying to talk to rats on a sinking ship - they ignored me and practically ran away. FINALLY, I had to get a loud and firm the woman said she would check and then disappeared again! When she came back she tried to blame me and said they called me did I leave the room? No, I was there the entire time, not on my phone, not reading...I think I know my own name. So, one hour to simply be seen to draw blood. I was not a walk-in. I was a confirmed appointment. They were rude, unprofessional, and unapologetic! read more

Who enjoys getting their blood drawn? I don't at all but every time I have gone the techs are super nice and friendly. I wish someone worked up front just because it's nice to see a face, but the new system is very efficient. If you need blood work this location is pretty great. read more

Went there Tuesday July 2nd 2019 to the Palm Harbor FL location for routine blood work for my doctor. One week later I still have a huge hematoma on my arm due to inept drawing of blood. I showed it to my doctor who said they will not send me there again. Do not go there, there are other labs to go to. read more

Once again, who actually enjoys a blood draw! Ekk! This lab is one of the better ones I've been to. It's, of course, better to have an appointment. If not, you will wait forever. If you end up having to wait though, the waiting room is usually rather entertaining. It's similar to that of the waiting room in the ER. I experienced a situation at the Palm Harbor location on US Hwy 19N, that left me annoyed to the point where I will never go to that location again. A client entered, signed in at the kiosk, and waited....all he had was a drop-off. When a nurse came out, he asked for help and was asked to wait, someone would be with him shortly. His registered wait time was 1 minute. Several minutes after that the same nurse came out and call another patient. When the person waiting was passed up again, he asked for help......again. Needless to say, the conversation became a little heated. All-in-all, a 1 minute wait time turned out to be over 15 minutes. The treatment of this client was unwarranted, and for this reason I will never return. read more

Terrible experience here. I did have an appointment and the receptionist was nice. However, the blood draw went really bad. The technician Kassa drew the blood and 1/2 hour after I left I had a lump the size of a golf ball and still swollen and horribly bruised the following day. I thought he knew what he was doing and I should have gotten a butterfly needle instead of a regular draw since he said it was quicker and easier. Now I'm the one in pain... Will not let him draw blood if I have to go back here again. I did go back and the receptionist told me this happens sometimes and put ice on it. They don't even have ice packs if you need one. First of all, make an appointment! If you don't have one then just sit and relax and wait your turn. No use complaining, none of us sitting by you want to hear you complain. I have gone to a few other Quests and this one is by far the most organized and nicest professional staff out of all of them. It's nice to see the same staff, that tells me the company must treat the staff good. Oh, if you can use you iPhone while sitting in the lobby by me, which I really don't care to hear all your business by the way, why do you swear about signing in at the iPad to register her name.
