Absolutely ridiculous wait times for walk in. I was 4th on the waitlist and within an hour all 3 people ahead of me were seen. I am now currently waiting here 4 HOURS. I asked when I would be seen and they keep saying "I'm not sure appointment have priority". The iPad screen originally said I would only be waiting 30-60 minutes. Have some transparency if you told me upfront it would be a very very long wait I would have left. If walk ins are regularly waiting this long, GET RID OF IT. It's absolutely ridiculous and I wasted a whole morning of time. UPDATE: I am being seen after 5 hours. After doing my drug test the technician said she accidentally told me the wrong amount of urine and do not have enough and I need to do it again. So now I have to wait AGAIN to do my second drug test. The staff is incredibly kind but this is complete incompetence. Unacceptable. Incompetent. Unprofessional. I had a very disappointing experience today. My appointment was at 2:30 PM, and although I mistakenly went to the wrong location first, I still arrived at the correct lab at 2:58 PM--two minutes before closing--just to drop off a stool sample. Despite arriving before 3 PM, the staff had already locked the door. I knocked multiple times, hoping to quickly explain the situation, but no one bothered to open or acknowledge me. They closed before their posted hours, which is completely unacceptable. I made every effort to get there on time, and the lack of professionalism and consideration was extremely frustrating!! Even when I asked the first location if I could at least drop off my stool sample, they refused. I understand policies and closing times, but this was simply poor customer service. I wish I could give NO stars for the experience I endured here. I came on a Saturday with an appointment at 10:10. The doors were locked. Another patient and I stood around bewildered. She stated she also had an appointment. After a few minutes someone opened the door. Another patient. He asked if we had appointments and we said yes, and he let us in. I repeat, this was another patient doing this work. We went in and he relocked the door. I asked what was going on and he said they close at 10:30 and had locked the doors and weren't taking more patients. I was appalled. The woman and I both had appointments and it was only 10:10, not 10:30. As is the standard at Quest now, there are no employees available to speak with in the lobby. Just a kiosk to check in. A few minutes later more people knocked and the patient that had helped me got up and opened the door again and asked if they had appointments. I told him he should be getting paid by Quest. On to the technician- Maylen. My God. I pray I never am attended by someone like her ever again. She called me in and as we sat I advised her I have a needle phobia and to please use a butterfly needle. She just brushed me off and said yeah, butterfly. I don't know that she fully understood me, as I was speaking English. I had to repeat myself. She was rushing and grabbing everything so fast and started to come at me with a regular needle. I balked and said that is not a butterfly. She said no. I said I asked for a butterfly. She said she didn't have one and she shuffled messily through her drawer and then indeed found one. She tapped my vein like she was a drug addict about to help me get a hit. I was hyperventilating cause I have needle fear. I begged her to please slow down. She told me that they close at 10:30 and other people are waiting and I need to be brave. I said ok and she shoved the needle in. It burned so bad like I've never experienced before. Then ripped it out which burned further. When I removed my bandage later there was so much blood on it and the vein looked swollen and raised. I was left bruised which has never happened before. This was a deplorable display of patient care. From locking the doors early, to the patient care. I will never, EVER return to this location. Traumatizing. read more

Whatever you do, don't go to your appointment early, in fact don't even bother to make one. I thought they were by appointment only since there wasn't anything indicting otherwise on their website. Especially since the earliest appointment I could get was 3 weeks in advance!! And that was at 11am. I had to fast for my appointment so that wasn't an ideal time. When I arrived I asked the person at the front if I could check in early? Hoping to be seen earlier, since it showed 6 names on the board. There were 12 people waiting....when my name popped up as 7th in line I thought ok. But when everyone before me was gone including 6 walk ins. I asked when I would be seen, I was told, You are next in line...then 12 more people came in, all of those went in before me. I waited in the waiting room for 45 minutes while they took 12 walk-ins, 6 who arrived after I did, before me.... When I was finally seen after waiting their for an hour, I spoke with the supervisor and she explained that once I checked in the system automatically makes you wait until that time, so regardless of the person (me) waiting there, it would just tell them to take walk ins. She apologized and explained next time not to check in early just to register as a walk in. This location is very convenient due to how close it is to my house. I get here within 10 minutes, which is great. Personally, I've had great service from the people that have attended me...thank goodness. The staff I've come across is very nice, friendly, and helpful. I have to say this location gets a lot of walk-ins so you do have to wait from 10 to 20 minutes, but most of the time it goes by quickly. The facility is kept clean with many seating chairs and there is plenty of parking. read more

I found this location to be a little unorganized. I believe they need more staff in order to help with patients. They currently have a system where people with no appointments are to wait outside in a pretty large group. Those who have appointments are supposed to wait inside. When you walk in there's no instruction as to what or where you have to go. I had walked in confused looking for someone for assistance, turns out you have to take your temperature before coming in however, there's no one constantly at the door. This was the worst experience I have ever received in my life. I am 35 weeks pregnant and needed to have lupus anticoagulant labs done that my doctor cannot perform since the blood needs to be frozen. I had an appt last week at 6am but I missed it. Today, my appt was at 12pm and I got them mixed up with last week, one of the techs told me to sit down and wait that they will assist me. Another one came 50 minutes later and told me differently, that I should have checked in as a walk in which is what I informed the other tech and if they could then they would take me in. From 6am, I informed them that I had a high risk doctor appt at 745am. First tech informed me that they would try their best to assist. Both seemed unwilling to help me. There is absolutely no consideration for patients nor pregnant women... I didn't sleep all night last night. I need this blood work because I have had a stillbirth and lost my son at 7 months pregnant but no one seems to care or have consideration of others anymore. I will never go to quest on 82nd ave and flagler ever again. Those techs needs a training on customer service and empathy. Also, quest should be opened a bit later if they have so many patients on a daily basis. I wouldn't normally write a Yelp review for a Quest Diagnostics center but I need to commend their phlebotomist, Jenny M. for being a problem solver. I was a walk-in and don't live nearby but they had short wait times and was in the neighborhood. After a short wait, I was called in and my information was verified but there was a slight problem with the prescription. Jenny was able to save me a bunch of time and grief as the test was time sensitive for an appointment with my provider without putting extra pressure back on me. Huge credit to her patient-centered approach as many other places probably would have sent me away. Thanks Jenny! Long ass wait time. Quest, specifically this location and im assuming all of Miami need to get rid of them tablet check in and ACTUALLY have someone at the window because they never do. Older people come in with appointment but check in themselves as walk-in because they dont know how to use it, and then the employees blame the client. Unorganized - lost my appointment after I checked in on their machines. They eventually ended up finding it and seeing me and the phlebotomist was good at finding a vein. In the end they ended up losing my blood tubes after I waited 3 weeks to get an appointment. Usually in the old days for a regular Blood Test you have to wait for an average of 1 hr or longer, today with the new technology just call them to make appointment & remember to write down the Confirmation number, it took me 35 minutes & I was DONE. 4 Starts to the technicians providing the Blood Test. It is unfortunate that this location lacks the professionals it needs to work in it. The wait time is way out of control, specially with patients who are fasting. Patients with no appointments wait for hours with no definitive answer in regards to possibility of being seen. Also how disrespectful is it to skip patients because they know the lab techs, when addressing the supervisor she stated to place a complaint with Quest as they are short staffed, this answer was not appropriate with the observation. There are times in life when one encounters people that are rude and incompetent. This particular location is filled with them. If you are ever in need of having to collect stool samples to drop off at a lab drive a little further and go elsewhere! My son has been dealing with a stomach bacteria and we have been at this for over 3 months. When they don't give you the wrong collection bottles, they fail to give you all the instructions then once you take time off to bring it in the person will tell you that whoever told you that before was wrong but they have no way of knowing who you dealt with. One lady even had the nerve to say that the doctor didn't know what she was doing. Furthermore, half the time they have you standing at the window and they are talking to other coworkers furthering increasing the chances of screwing up your labs. Aweful place! read more

I arrived ten minutes early for my 11am appointment to get a standard blood test done which my doctor ordered. The receptionist told me to sit down and wait to be called as soon as I signed-in. I told her that I had an appointment in ten minutes and asked her if my appointment was going to be on-time. The huge waiting room was packed, so I was concerned that the place was overbooked. She told me that she had ELEVEN other people ahead of me with 11 o'clock appointments. She said my wait would be around TWO HOURS! I said, "Forget it. This place is ridiculous!", and I walked out immediately. I have been to one other Quest in WPB that was good with appointments, but this place appears to be getting away with abusing its patients by handing out "appointments" that are never meant to be kept on time and making people wait for hours.
