One star is warranted because within the West Houston Family Practice clinic, there is a small room set up for Quest Diagnostics lab testing & processing. I drove about 25 miles one-way to see the MD and get lab work done. There are two ladies named Brenda and Lydia. I cannot recall which lady is named which, but I will warn you that the first lady that approached me was the African American lady female phlebotomist, who was extremely rude. First, she tied a tight band around my arm tighter than anyone has ever done in over seven decades. When I exclaimed that it was too tight, she said I need to go home because they cannot draw my blood for testing. She would not even listen to my preference for a certain size needle. I refused to drive all the way home and waste time and effort, so I asked for a supervisor or another phlebotomist. The one remaining was the Hispanic lady who was just the opposite of the first lady -- the Hispanic lady was soft-spoken, kind, and professional. She immediately got the size needle that I needed and lab work was completed in less than 5 minutes. Go figure? IF I return, I will definitely not deal with the first phlebotomist. The manager Roshanda is lazy and is training her staff to be that way aswell. It's not right. I get to this location at 4:41pm and check in using the kiosk computer. Only 1 lady in the lobby waiting. Roshanda herself walks out prior to 5pm and deletes me from the waiting board and tells me I need to comeback another day and to schedule an appointment because that's what she requires. I'm upset because if that was a policy, why does the kiosk allow me to check in as a walk in and absolutely NOWHERE is there signage to the public that they only accept appointments. Also when u call 281 752 6171 the recording says "appointments are encouraged but you will be accommodated without an appointment". She and her staff had no compassion and were rude and final with not providing service to me prior to 5pm as a walk in. The pandemic is over, this location is doing a disservice to the public and the Quality service that Quest Diagnostics stands for. She should be demoted and bring in a manager that is eager to provide fair service to all customers. read more

Ok ok Fran and Deandra (she knows who I'm talking about) I guess I like it here "today". Quest Diagnostics only accepts patients by appointment only. Setting up was quick and easy. Their system will email you a confirmation code and bar code for contactless check in. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment and by the time I opened the Yelp app my name was called. Getting up walking back my heart started beating fast. I don't like needles. The doctors office stuck me twice and didn't get anything. So here I am again... As Deadrea was preparing my tubs for the lab draw, I noticed Fran walking by and asked I asked if she would hold my hand. Whatever y'all judge me all you want. I know the drill, sit still, relax and don't move otherwise the vein is going to move and stick stick again. D, rubbed me with the alcohol pad, I squeezed Fran's hand and to my surprise I didn't feel the stick. I'm not out the woods yet, D needed 3 tubs of blood. Uuuug...I had to fast for the labs so in my mind I was getting dizzy about to fall out but my new friend Fan was there :) Ok, I didn't have to be admitted into the hospital, no one picked me up off the floor, I'm alive , eyes open and able to continue my day. This my 3 time coming here and I try to give them a chance because I know it can be hectic, but this place have the worse customer service. They're so rude it doesn't make any since. You ask the staff one question they talk to you like you asked them 100 times already or like you're getting on their nerves. Even if you have an appointment don't mean you will be seen at that time either. Good luck coming here if you want someone to treat you like a human being. When I came in here.there were just two people waiting, nobody to talk to except a notice on the wall that says sign in and a sheet of paper. I signed in by 3.15pm and was finally called in by 4.15pm.that is after 1 hr of sitting down waiting. While waiting, I could hear voices of people chatting and laughing out loud at the back offices yet nobody came to the window to say hello, thanks for waiting, we will soon be with you. I will definitely be returning to this lab to have my bloodwork done. (I didn't see a sign out front but my gps took me to the entrance of the medical center. They were right down the hall on the right on the ground floor and a Quest Diagnostics sign was on the door.) read more

The nurse that runs this clinic is the ONLY nurse I will see for my lab tests during my pregnancy! She is quick, efficient and most importantly GENTLE! I hate needles and shots but she is so quick I'm in and out before I can complain about the needle! Never a long wait! read more

Not all QD locations do drug testing. So this location was chosen for me to get screened as part of my recent job offer. Located next door to the West Houston Medical Center, this location was easy to find & the suite was the first door to the right upon entering the side entrance (directly off the parking lot). Like the other location, the waiting area is a bit drab but who do they have to impress? The waiting area was empty so as I was signing in for my appointment (you can make an appointment by calling or booking via online) a lady walked up, took my work order & I was led to a back room where I was asked to put my purse & water bottle in a locked cabinet while my paperwork was processed. Once finished she led me to a bathroom, gave me instructions not to flush the toilet & advised I had one minute to "cough" up the sample. Thank goodness my test was not an observed one so the tech waited outside the door. Once completed she labeled the samples, had me initial them & I was released. In & out within 15 minutes. read more

I made an appt the evening before online. I got there and entered my confirmation number on their Ipad. I had barely sat down before I was called in. The day prior, my doctors office was unable to draw my blood because my vein had collapsed and they blew my vein. So, I was ecstatic when Chanel stuck me once, with no pain, and drew my blood. Very friendly. This was 4:30pm on a Thursday afternoon and there was nobody else there. So, perhaps this is a good time to go and I lucked out. I imagine there may be other times of the day (early morning or perhaps lunch time) that it might be crowded, but this day and time was great. I am very happy. I will use them again. read more

The staff was very friendly and professional. The young lady that drew was blood was very sweet and great at her job. It barely felt like a mosquito bite. I arrived at 7:15am this morning for a drug screening. I received an email with a phone number and address for this location requesting I go there pre-employment. It also had hours (6:30am-5pm). I had to go before my husband left to work since kids are not permitted. There were six people in the waiting room when I arrived. The next person to arrive after me got there 30 minutes later. He signed his name then left. The receptionist then called his name and he wasn't there. When he returned I told him that she had called for him. The receptionist came back to the front again and called my name. The other man jumped up in front of me and said he had just stepped outside but was here now. Despite having called my name she then changed her mind and took him back. Finally, one hour after my arrival time, it was my turn. I got up to the desk right as another employee arrived (originally it had been only one person staffing). I was told drug screens don't begin until 10am and I should have made an appointment. I was told to step to the side so she could help the next person. I refused to step to the side and I stood there as I scheduled an appointment online. No one ever answers the phone there. It rings four times and then has a generic voicemail saying, "The mailbox is full." The paper I was emailed did not include a website for scheduling appointments. My husband was one hour late to work and I had to cancel a morning appointment so I can return to the lab during my husband's lunch hour. This has completely ruined our plans for the day and the lady was extremely rude. I said, "It took you an hour to tell me this and you took back someone who arrived after me!" She said she is busy helping other people. So everyone was walking into a waiting room with an empty receptionist desk. This happened to another customer while I was waiting -- she waited for an hour until she got called and they told her that something was wrong with her paperwork. This is infuriating. I came home crying because I was totally disregarded as a human being, or at least a paying customer. read more
