This was the best experience I've ever had getting blood taken. I had to get blood drawn for new employment. Ty was my phlebotomist and she was excellent. I've had to get blood taken so many times over the course of my life (routine, research studies, donating, new employment, etc) and honestly this was the best blood draw I've ever had. Ty made the tourniquet and found a good vein immediately. She put the needle in and was smooth with the whole process. She got a few vials filled within a minute. There's usually an issue every time I have to get blood taken because I'm dehydrated, or my veins are too small or they can't find them. So it's always a hassle, blood won't come out or too slow.. I've had every issue. But not this time. Ty is a true professional. She was kind and efficient. She knew what she was doing and I would trust her and honestly hope I get her again whenever I have to get blood drawn. Thanks for leaving me NOT traumatized, Ty!! read more

This is the only Quest we can ever seem to get an an appt at. The staff is always efficient & pleasant. The staff also cleans copiously much appreciated! read more

Quest Diagnostics - Waiting area - Laboratory Testing Near Me - Hamden, Connecticut

Extremely disgusting facility I will never return to this Quest. I went in for a drug screening today and the woman that collected the sample was extremely rude and dismissive. The bathroom I had to go in? DISGUSTING. The toilet was covered in someone else's period blood. As a medical facility this level of unsanitary is just unacceptable. They are lucky i didn't have my phone in the bathroom with me to take a picture. Absolutely disgraceful. Do better. read more

I had to come on this platform to say a few words about my phlebotomist that I yesterday morning. She also so pleasant to deal with and it was truly a pleasure talking to m her. I had to have several draws done and this obviously took some time. We spoke about so many things in this time frame. I was completely confused during the whole ordeal. I didn't get her name but I do remember her having her hair in 2 French braids which looked cute and simple by the way. Quest did a great job when they picked her. She was professional and kind and realy made me feel at ease during this process. And rhe end I even asked her for a sticker (jokingly) and she gave me 2. Thanks again for being so kind. read more

Quest Diagnostics - Stickers for doing so well. - Laboratory Testing Near Me - Hamden, Connecticut

From making appointment, checking in to blood draw was perfect My tech, Bella was outstanding. She was pleasant, professional and an expert at her job read more

Clean with perfectly capable technicians. BUT -- they no longer pay for a human receptionist. Patients have to check themselves in at a kiosk, which was clearly a struggle for some of the older folks in the waiting room. Concentrating on the check-in process was made more difficult by a giant TV blaring Quest ads and payment policies in a phony-upbeat voice -- truly a hellish experience. Considering that some folks are coming in for blood work related to a stressful medical condition, Quest should return the human contact, hire a receptionist and pay them appropriately, and ditch the TV. Since Quest has a monopoly, next time I will go see if the phlebotomy students at ConnCat need someone to practice on. read more

Some of the girls here are really really sweet, but the girl I had to deal with this week brings the entire experience down to one star. She is just downright miserable and unfriendly. I seriously can't understand how someone can already be THAT unhappy at 8:00 a.m. (I was there 2 days this week and had the same girl both times, so this wasn't just and "off day"). If you hate your job that much, go do something else. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. I got here at 3:45 and they wouldn't see me because they close at 4PM. None of the staff even bothered to check the waiting room until after 4. Both the people who spoke to me were incredibly rude and unhelpful. Do NOT go here. read more

Made appointment, tried to check in 10 minutes before and it said no more appointments today. Place was crowded with walk ins. No desk person to talk to. Thanks Quest for making me waste my time and leave work early at a bad time. read more

Hate that there's no receptionist if you have a question or need help. The women that work there are always very brief , no hello how are you or anything outside of confirming your name, DOB etc. Had one bad experience where the woman couldn't properly draw my blood and I had blood under my skin for weeks with horrible bruising and I had to come back another time. They need to have a bit more courtesy . read more

I REALLY wish I could speak to a manager about the phlebotomist that drew my Sister's blood just now. If she said two words at all we were lucky. MEAN, RUDE and stuck my sister so hard with the needle she was immediately sore and did not stop bleeding till at least 20 minutes afterward. My sister does not do well with needles and always has me accompany her when she gets her blood drawn. This woman could care less and did NOTHING as a "so-called" medical professional, to try and calm her down. If someone is aware of this woman's name please comment back! I am not going to stop at this review only. Again we visited THIS facility on 3000 Dixwell Ave at around 1pm on June 26th, 2018. Do NOT visit this location to get your blood drawn! I cannot emphasize this enough! read more

Three words: Make an Appointment. Overall these places are always huge and really busy. Lets take into consideration the elderly need to get their blood drawn more regularly, so they take up most of the popultion of people. When I first got there, the woman behind the desk was RUDE. She didn't even look at me and shouted at me like I was 100 years old YOU GOT AN APPOINTMENT? And began to do the "headshake" at me as if I was stupid. After I got past her rude self, I moved onto a woman who was great. She drew my blood quickly and was so polite. She went out of her way to talk to me and see how my day was going, even thought it was 7am. If you do not make an appointment (go to their website, it is realiable) you will be waiting..a long time. read more

I visited again recently, and they had installed a tablet check-in system and covered up the reception window. Again, per usual, I visited in AM the first hour they were open. This time it was lightning fast. Let's hope this is a consistent improvement! read more

I had my blood drawn here last week by a woman named Robin and when I tell you it didn't hurt, I mean I didn't even feel her stick the needle in!! Most times it takes the person 2 or 3 tries and then they end up drawing from my hand. Robin you are the phlebotomist queen!! read more

I didn't get past the waiting room. Dirty and crowded. I wouldn't trust a place to draw blood that took such little care for its appearance. There are other labs around that offer quick, sanitary service (Broadway Medical Group in North Haven is a good bet...wound up going there and there was no wait, and it was (almost) painless. read more

Went here first thing in the morning and noticed there were already 6 people ahead of me. One of the phlebotomists was rude when I asked her how long the wait might be. This same phlebotomist was rude when drawing my blood. I felt she didn't have patience for the questions I had. I don't expect extremely warm welcomes at any healthcare facility, but I definitely don't expect healthcare professionals to be rude to their customers. read more

Visited quest in Hamden CT, they have a kiosk for check in. I literally helped on elderly gentleman check in because he is not current with these technologies. This is a unfriendly and poor customer service approach. Though it is the expectation, not everyone was privileged to an education and not everyone will be able follow the commands. It is a same that technology is wiping out all human interaction. I hope Quest re think this approach and be more customer friendly to people, especially our elderly population. read more

I disagree with the other reviewer. It is not dirty, although it is usually crowded. The trick is to make an appointment and you'll get in very quickly. Getting your blood drawn by Ben is painless. He's great! read more

Many of the people who come here are elderly but you have made it complicated for them by taking away the person at the desk and putting an iPad for them to figure out. Shame on you for causing the elderly and others who are not tech savvy, to save a buck! read more

Don't expect a warm greeting when you come here. This place is busy and the receptionist at this place is rude and unprofessional. The phlebotomist that drew the blood was nice though. This place gets packed so i would definitely recommend making an appointment online first. read more

Not at all polite or professional...and most certainly not friendly. I receive more courteous service when I get my car tires rotated at my auto shop. Employees at Quest seem not to realize some people are there because they have real health problems...some basic compassion would greatly be appreciated. read more

I have never had a problem with this place and after coming there this past Saturday, I reiterate my comment. It was listed on Google as being open at 6am, so I hurried along and got there at about 7:45. When I got in, I noticed that one of the phlebotemists, who I know, was telling one of the other patients to sign in utilizing the IPad that was in the waiting room. I did that, which took all of 30 seconds, was called within 45 seconds after that. I was greeted by a light skinned phlebotemist who was EXTREMELY FRIENDLY and polite. Took my information, explained what I owed, took my payment, gave me my statement, and drew my blood. I was probably in and out with 5 - 7 minutes from the time I got there. Call it a coincidence that I was able to get in and out in such a timely fashion, but I have absolutely no complaints. Oh, and when I had told her about my condition and that I needed to work out like I used to when I was in the Army, she thanked me for my service to my country. That's customer service! read more

The Worst customer service ever!!!! Rude & slow!!! The comments from the girls in the back are noticeably loud! Why would anyone use this Quest location???? Does this place have a manager? Who monitors this behavior? read more

Terrible. This was the first time my preschool-age child was having blood drawn, so when making the appointment online i selected "pediatric specialist'. I scheduled the appointment so we could get in and out quickly before my daughter had time to psych herself out. Well, they apparently pay no attention whatsoever to appointments here. There was no one present at the check to have told face to face that I had the appointment, nor did they check anyone in, take insurance information or check for orders in the system at that time. There's a space to write in on the sign in sheet that you have an appointment and what time, but this is disregarded and they took everyone in the order they signed in, appointment or not. So, instead, we waited almost 45 minutes after our appointment time to be taken to a room. After that there was further red tape because they only now looked in the system and found that our doctor's test order was not there, so we had to get it faxed over and go back to the waiting room. By the way since they did not acknowledge we had an appointment we didn't get any kind of "pediatric specialist" which they didn't seem to have although Quest's website indicated it for this location. All told by the time we were done we had been there over an hour and a half. When I asked the phlebotomist why they hadn't honored the appointment times she blamed me, saying I should have complained when it was past my appt time. It's not my responsibility to complain about it, it's their responsibility to look at their own sign in sheet and scan for people with appointments (or better, have an actual receptionist to check in with like other locations). Very rude to blame the customer for their own poor service. Definitely avoid this place if at all possible. I'm not sure where the next nearest location is, but it's probably worth the drive. read more
