Came here for an MRI. When I arrived half the parking lot was under water. There was no place to park. I finally found a spot next to the water and I assumed it was receding. The office was packed , however the checkin process was fairly fast, considering the number of people ahead of me. I was not taken in until one hour after my appointment. The staff notified me that they we're running behind. When I finally got my test, the staff was friendly. The office and equipment seemed a little old, but everything worked out. read more

One word: AMAZING. I have a touch of the claustrophobia (maybe more than a 'touch')...and when my first attempt at an MRI failed elsewhere, I was directed to these folks - because they have a larger machine. It's not an "Open MRI," but it IS bigger and it's lit up in a way that makes it feel larger - it's the step between a regular machine and an 'Open MRI.' Knowing my issues going in, I asked if I could see the machine first, as I didn't want to waste anyone's time. Granted, I medicated up beforehand to help me relax, but the staff could not have been more kind. Not were they great, but they DID let me view the machine in advance..and the tech checked on me throughout the exam to make sure I was okay. Would HIGHLY recommend - especially for those, like me, who don't care for small spaces. read more

I have been trying to make an appointment for a CT scan for the last five hours, having heard that my physician sent in the order immediately after my appointment. I've now called seven times. First I was told that my doctor hadn't sent in the orders (but she had, she sent them in immediately). After my 2nd call, I was told to call back in an hour, because maybe the doctor was late sending them in (she wasn't). When they finally answered my 3rd call, they told me to wait another hour, because actually they may have received it, but there were not enough employees at Whitney Imaging to enter the doctors orders into their computers to be able to find my orders. It is now 5:08 p.m., hours and hours after the orders were sent in and I began calling and with my most current call, I've been on hold for 40 minutes. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING IN A BUSINESS THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE HELPING SAVE PEOPLE'S LIVES?????? read more

The most pleasant imaging experience I've had thus far. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted very nicely by the lady behind the counter. She's was fast and straight to the point. I did not expect to be called out that quick ---barely no wait time at all! I came in little bit earlier than I should have but I was accommodated nonetheless. The procedure itself was so quick and straightforward. I waited for my results as I was told they'll have it ready within 30mins. I sat by the waiting area and the place got crowded pretty fast but the 2 ladies behind the counter were working at lighting speed and yet were uber nice! Patient turnover was very efficient based on what I observed while waiting. Oh, true enough, the final read/results were ready in 15mins! Simply the best center to get all your imaging needs done! read more

Being A cancer survivor I have had numerous MRIs with contrast. Yesterday was the worst experience of my life. The female could not get the line for contrasT into my vein. So after playing around with that hand she goes over to the other hand and thinks she has it in and it rolled and the saline went into my hand. it hurt so bad and she proceeded to squeeze an already hurt hand to get the saline out. I almost cried it hurt so bad. So in comes her cohort and he says I'll get it in the other arm and stabs the inside of my arm and guess what? He rolls it. This was the third try and I said that's enough so they decided to do the MRI without contrast and made it clear that if I had to come back for the contrast I would have to pay again. Oh really? You think so? Why? Because you both were incompetent?? Then when it was over they practically pushed me out the door. I was a little shaky for a minute but they said " the locker is over there and there's the exit ". Now this morning my hand is killing me and swollen and the inside of my other arm is purple. I will NEVER go there again. I know it's difficult to find good help but send them back to wherever they learn how to put a line in. And teach them good patient care. Send them to Smilow for training. I worked for AMR for 21 years and those Paramedics can get a line in while traveling 70 mph. Needless to say I will never step foot in that door again . read more

Awesome service - affordable pricing!!! My insurance company provided the valuable service of contacting me to let me know there was a more cost effective imaging center - Whitney Imaging. My doctor automatically scheduled my MRI at an imaging center that's part of the Yale Ne Haven Health system. Whitney Imaging's cost for the exact same type of MRI was almost 50% less!!! This is a huge benefit for me since I must pay the cost out of pocket until I reach my annual deductible. I experienced some of the best customer I have experienced from a medical facility. Everyone smiled, was friendly and was extremely welcoming. My technician explained the entire procedure from putting my belongings in the locker, through the procedure and to gathering my belongings at the end. Amazing service! read more

I came for a CT scan yesterday, and the machine to burn a disc onto was down. I received a call yesterday afternoon saying it was ready, and that I could pick it up today. Today, I made the drive, which isn't exactly next door, only to have no disc be present. Miscommunications happen, but I expect a certain amount of professionalism and competency in matters of medical stability, and with the amount of runaround one goes through anyway with regards to this, I found any additional headache to be unacceptable. read more

I would go elsewhere if you need imaging done unless you have a litigious mind and like being sued by your doctor/medical facility. The service they provide is alright, but the headache and hassle they give you after is not worth it. The techs are kind. The waiting room is crowded. My experience is as follows: I called the number on my bill a few months after my scan and was told I had no balance. I didn't receive anything else, but a few months later, still less than a year after my date of service, I received a lawsuit from small claims court that I was being sued for $300. I called Whitney Imaging again to pay and they wouldn't accept payment and referred me to the collections agency. The collections agency they use is nasty, condescending and refused to accept payment and told me my bill increased by $95 and that I would also have to pay legal fees for going to court. It seems unethical and like an unnecessary shake down. I don't understand, if the office miscommunicated to me when I tried to pay my bill, why the collections agency never sent me further bills. You think they would fed ex me a letter for $3 or confirm my address before going the extreme route of hiring a lawyer and filing in small claims court, but this is not the case. I have private insurance that paid them their contracted rate. I attempted to pay my co-pay on date of service and called a few months after receiving a bill and tried to pay the amount I received a bill for, but was told I had no balance. Here I am- ultimately I've paid 32% more than I owed and am facing a day off work to go to court and legal fees....and it took many phone calls- like an entire afternoon- to get them to take payment for my amount plus the 32%....and the headache isn't over because I still have to show up in court or else it will be settled in their favor. I'd pick another provider because going here is not worth the headache! read more

The center is convenient, with plenty of parking. Scheduling and billing/insurance were easy. Make sure to ask about what prep is required for your procedure. The check-in/reception process was a little convoluted because of Covid precautions, so plan on extra time for that. The front room staff were competent and friendly. I haven't actually been to this facility. I had an appointment arranged and was quite surprised at my reminder phone call I received. The gal reminded me of my appointment date and time--and then continued on for 60 solid seconds about the monies due! It wasn't just "we've checked with your insurance, and your portion is "x" amount". She droned on and on about my portion due, that my insurance company requires that I pay said fee, to make sure I was prepared to pay said fee AT the appointment, and that if there was any issue paying monies due, I was to call them. I called them. And canceled my appointment. Not because I didn't intend on paying my co-pay, but because the money due was more important to her than telling me that my procedure was on a fast. No....she never mentioned the "no food or drink after midnight". Guess that $100 was really important to her. read more

I've been going to Whitney Imaging for over a decade now. A long time ago I said "good bye Yale and all the money you want to charge for every little thing you do and hello Whitney Imaging". This place is great. The staff is super friendly, hours are convenient and I love that they don't nickel and dime you like Yale does. I did read the one star review from Lauren L. and I have to say that has never been my experience with Whitney Imaging. Whenever I had a question about my bill they were always there to explain it to me and help me. ****Bonus is their MRI is not claustrophobic at all. The appointment itself was smooth. However, trying to get medical records was...difficult. I wanted to have my medical records sent to another hospital. There is no information about how to do this on the Whitney Imaging website. I finally had to call to ask for a release of records form. Whitney Imaging said the other hospital needed to contact them directly, and there was no way that I as a patient I could give permission for Whitney Imaging to send out records. What?! It works this way at every other health care organization! The rep got kind of testy. I finally had to just request a form sent to me directly...which she said could not be sent via email or fax, only via snail mail. read more

I went through the registration ok. It was rather rushed and impersonal. No smiles or friendliness. Then, I expected to be called soon in the rotation of the others that came in with me. However, everyone went in before me and I was still waiting for over 1/2 hour. The woman who performed my procedure was having a problem with getting it right. She told me it would take 5 minutes; it took at least 20 minutes. It was painful at times. I have been here before. I will never go back. read more

I am never going back to Yale again! Not only are the hours of operation outstanding (7 AM - 11 PM M-F, and all day on Saturdays and Sundays for MRIs) but everyone was very nice and helpful. They also have plenty of free parking. I am extremely claustrophobic, and would normally have been sedated, but my ride canceled at the last minute, and I had to get into the MRI tube without any Ativan. Nicole was wonderful and I had no issues whatsoever. I do see the other reviewer's point about the waiting room. It was very crowded and the energy was frenetic. There are other waiting rooms, in other areas of the practice, that had nobody in them. It would be so much better if they could somehow direct some of the patients to the space that is not being fully utilized. Not a deal breaker, but it would definitely make for a much more pleasant experience. I highly recommend the Whitney Imaging Center. read more

Whitney imaging is a great facility and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I have had procedures done in other locations but this was more convenient and the staff made it less of a hassle. They gave me headphones to block out some of the machine noise and to communicate with me. The tech that ran the imaging was giving me updates throughout as to how much longer and when they would do certain things. I would def go there again if needed. read more

Fantastic experience! When you have to have a ultrasound or a MRI this place has a great group to handle your most sensitive needs. Recently I was there for 2 issues, ultrasound and followed by MRI, Dr.K ( long name don't remember how to spell) was super! For the MRI Damon took care of me. I was very nervous, as I also had to have a shot to put liquid in my body for them to see what's hong on. Damon had a great sense of humor and continued to make me feel at ease throughout the whole process. A great staff from the beginning to end! You should feel comfortable if you should need to have work done here :-) read more

I know nothing about their service because I was not a patient but the waiting room was HORRIBLE! They seem to be very busy since their waiting room was constantly full and way too loud. The reception desk is surrounded chairs so there is no privacy. You can also hear the very loud elevator constantly! read more

I got a chest X-ray done here and was told that I wouldn't have to pay a co-pay and not to worry about extra fees. I was then billed a month later for almost 70$. That went to an address I wasn't expecting mail for and it eventually went to collections and ended up being a very frustrating experience. I wouldn't have been upset if they were upfront about the fees but i dont appreciate being lied to. So expect extra fees here. read more

I have never had a better experience getting any type of testing or procedure done. From registering and scheduling my appointment over the phone, all the way through the end of the procedure, the entire staff was amazing. The lovely woman who called me to schedule my MRI was extremely helpful and made sure that I had an appointment that was not only within two days of her calling me, but also fit into my schedule. (They're open from 7AM until 11PM Monday through Friday and from what I understand perform MRIs all day on Saturday and Sunday! You can't get any more convenient than that!) She was also kind enough to give me detailed instructions on how to get to the facility, where to park (and there is plenty of convenient free parking very close to the main entrance!), what code to dial to get directly to the MRI center to get buzzed in so that I didn't have to stand out in the freezing cold (I literally only waited outside for ten seconds - no exaggeration), what to expect, and more. She was very, very helpful. When I arrived at the center, the lovely gentleman that checked me in was incredibly kind and courteous, and made the paperwork/insurance process extremely easy. I had informed him that I was both extremely nervous and very claustrophobic, and he told my fiancé that he could be in the procedure room with me, so long as he signed a release form. I have never had anyone permitted in a scan or procedure room before at other places, no matter how much I begged and pleaded. Because of Whitney Imaging Center's incredibly courteous and accommodating staff, my fiancé was able to sit right next to me (though I couldn't see him whilst being in the MRI), and rub and massage my leg to calm me down. The technician or receptionist (I'm not sure of his title - the gentleman who checked me in) also informed me that I could leave with a CD of my scan for my records, and to make it easier for my doctor(s) to view my MRI results sooner! How awesome is that?! After my procedure, I waited not even five minutes and my CD was ready, labeled very neatly, and put in a protective case for me. Now, DURING my procedure, my radiology technician was absolutely PHENOMENAL. He made sure that I wasn't cold by asking me if I would like a blanket, he provided me with a robe to wear over my t-shirt to preserve my dignity because I had to remove my bra - he even recognized that my fiancé was having a difficult time standing for the duration of my procedure because he has very bad legs due to two auto accidents and when he noticed this, he stopped scanning for a moment, came out of his booth with a chair, and set it down right next to where my legs were so that he could sit comfortably and still keep me as calm as possible by rubbing my leg. I was astounded that not only was he paying attention to me and the procedure, but he also noticed that my fiancé was having a difficult time standing and really helped him out - that just blew me away! The technician also provided me and my fiancé with earplugs, and gave me headphones after asking me what music I would like to listen to through his personal Pandora account. Everything that he could possibly have done to make me as comfortable as possible, he did. He went above and beyond. I would highly recommend Whitney Imaging Center to absolutely anyone that needs a scan/procedure done. They are absolutely wonderful, and they even take Medicaid! If I don't ever have to go back to a hospital for a scan or procedure again, I won't - I'm always going back to Whitney Imaging Center! Ten out of five stars for them! :) :) read more

Whitney Imaging was able to schedule me in for an appointment within 48 hours which I was thankful for and the technician was nice and pleasant. She made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure and explained it thoroughly. I also got my results the same day so I appreciate their promptness in contacting my Dr. My insurance didn't cover the procedure (Bummer) but Whitney Imaging was nice enough to only ask for a small down payment up front and told me I can pay the rest later. They seem to value their patients time and try to have you in and out pretty quick. read more
