I arrived five minutes early, checked in, and then waited 25 minutes before anyone even acknowledged my presence. At this point, it's been 35 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, and I'm still waiting. This raises an obvious question: what is the purpose of making appointments if patients are expected to wait this long? If the office is running behind or unable to accommodate patients as scheduled, the responsible thing to do would be to notify patients or offer to reschedule. We are all busy. Patients make an effort to arrive on time and usually extend a reasonable grace period--but there is a limit. Respect for patients' time matters. We are clients, we pay for these services, and basic communication and courtesy should be a priority. Very disappointing experience.

They rudely abrupt whatever you are asking them and redirect you to the kiosk or they "have to use the bathroom" (Black Lady at the front with glasses). After I asked them for more help, following my attempts with the kiosk, they forgo what they are doing to question if I'm able to "read." Then gets up and teaches me how to use such kiosk. afterwards, calling me up. To then go through the whole process the kiosk initially did. At the point of this incident there was no more than 4 people in the waiting room, "in front of me," if you will. All waiting to be called back or called up to the window where they can assist you, vice versa. I can count 15 chairs in this waiting room. So their excuse of being "busy with others" as they are having the time to come out and instruct me on a kiosk is contradicting. They also both left the window, as I'm writing this review. Unsure of what they could be doing as I'm sure they are not tending a lingual contact point with patients... along with working the back... if so, that is a problem in itself.

This has to be one of the most efficiently run clinics I have been a part of given how many PTs, PTAs, and PT aides they employ. They do their absolute best to have 1:1 ratio of patient with PT which is manageable on most days with the exception during busy hours. Even during the busy hours, they have enough assistance from their coworkers as they use a team approach to provide the best patient care possible. Patients are given undivided attention by the employee during the entirety of their treatment session and they even have bilingual staff which helps reach out to more people in need of assistance during their treatment sessions. The clinic handled the pandemic phenomenally with closing down as soon as possible early in 2020 and only opened once the local government lifted restrictions. They opened following COVID-19 policies and restructured the clinic to abide by these policies as well as created a staggered schedule for the PTs so that not too many patients were being treated at the same time/risking overcrowding. All employees and patients MUST wear masks and have their temperature taken every visit with no exceptions and they've continued to be strict about that to this day (Mid-September). Machines and equipment are constantly wiped down with disinfectant wipes, patients are treated on tables more than 6ft apart, and PTs use the private treatment room as often as possible to aide in flattening the curve in Maryland, especially since the patient population comprises of "at risk" individuals during the pandemic. All in all, I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone in or near the Germantown area if they wish to be seen promptly by knowledgeable staff, want to work with employees that feel like family, and are a fan of a healthcare establishment that puts patient/employee satisfaction and safety on the forefront of their company's mission.

I paid $2500 dollars to find out which specific phenotypes I might have that have been documented in the medical community. I cannot believe my medical provider and the genetic specialist recommend this company. What I received was a report that said negative, there was no reference to which genes where. The report had a reference to a scientific paper that the customer had to read & decipher to figure out what was sequenced. Find another company, and question the physician/geneticist that recommends this company.

Dr. Natalie Hauser confirmed no cost will be incurred for the appointment and testing since I have already met my deductible. Received a $400 bill in the mail in March 2022. Contacted Dr. Hauser and she stated, "Yes, even though your deductible was met, there was an expected OOP when GeneDx checked on your benefits, but they should have reached out to you to let you know the amount and ask if you were okay with it before proceeding with the test". Please note, GeneDx NEVER called me about the expected out of pocket pay, and if I known it would cost me $400, I would not have taken the genetics test. Called GeneDx on March 18th, 2022 and spoke to Lee. I asked why GeneDx did not notify me of the cost before testing. Lee mentioned Aetna responded to the claim on February 24th, 2022 (after testing was done) and received an explanation of benefits explaining my responsibility is $400. Lee also mentioned this is because I did not meet my deductible as the testing was done on 1/20/2022. Proceeded to call Aetna on March 18th, 2022 and spoke to Chloe. She confirmed Dr. Hauser submitted the claim and did NOT explain as to why I was tested and hence why there is a $400 out of pocket expense. Aetna needed to know why there was a need for the testing and Dr. Hauser should have included in notes for this claim. Chloe then proceeded to submit a claim and in turn the Aetna Claims Department will reach out to Dr. Hauser to provide an explanation as to why I needed genetics testing done. Chloe mentioned I should hear of an update soon and should be corrected in two weeks. Aetna will then contact GeneDx of the correction and eliminate the out of pocket expense. Based on the negative experience, misinformation and bad business practice from Dr. Hauser and GeneDx, I strongly recommend potential clients to research and seek other legitimate and credible genetics doctor and testing services. If you have no other option but to go through GeneDx for genetics testing, I highly recommend you take the initiative to call GeneDx to confirm the out of pocket expense. Please note, there are similar reviews posted by former patients that experienced the same issue and fraudulent tactics from GeneDx.
