Update: I feel I should update my review because after my last review, during the summer of 2018 I became very ill and had to be hospitalized for 9 days. The Sunday night I was so sick I had to call and Dr. Julia Korenman was the doctor on call that night. She called me quickly and spent a lot of time very patiently convincing me to go to the hospital. She was 100% right because I was very ill when I arrived at the hospital. The doctor from Capital Digestive Care on call during my hospital stay was Dr. David Jager. He was extremely kind, compassionate, and I felt he truly cared about me. After I my discharge from the hospital for my follow up exam I saw Dr. Korenman and have seen her a few times since. She is always very kind, understanding, and caring. I never feel rushed with her. I can now recommend any of the 3 doctors I have mentioned from this group.

My concerns began when a PA associated with the practice recommended a colonoscopy without ever performing a physical exam. The lack of care continued with Dr. Cohen, who provided no instructions regarding my blood thinners. She failed to coordinate with my hematologist, and after the procedure, when I had bleeding issues, I still received no guidance on stopping my medication or when to restart my medication. I felt there was a disregard for my physical health. I made it clear before the procedure that I had an Achilles tendon injury that was almost healed. Despite this, I left the procedure with a new complication to that injury, requiring me to wear a boot for at least three weeks. When I expressed my concerns about all of these complications, I felt she completely shrugged them off. I left feeling unheard and disrespected. I would not recommend seeing this physician.

There were two entrances to get into the parking lot and once you are parked, the building is right there. The entrance to the building faces Observation Drive. Once parked, enter building 20410, walk up the stairs, go right and WRA will be the 2nd entrance on your right (glass doors). Enter, check in and have a seat. The employees I interacted with were very pleasant, especially the lady at the front desk. Had a great conversation. Once your name is called, you will get the opportunity to check your items into a wooden locker (you are in charge of the key during your appointment). As you check out and retrieve your items, you then just leave the key on the outside of the locker (how you saw it before accessing it). There is signage providing where to dispose of your gown after your appointment. This location has been opened for a year (shared by one of the employees) and just based on service, experience, and location, I will definitely be back for sure.

At this point, it's been 35 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, and I'm still waiting. This raises an obvious question: what is the purpose of making appointments if patients are expected to wait this long? If the office is running behind or unable to accommodate patients as scheduled, the responsible thing to do would be to notify patients or offer to reschedule. We are all busy. Patients make an effort to arrive on time and usually extend a reasonable grace period--but there is a limit. Respect for patients' time matters. We are clients, we pay for these services, and basic communication and courtesy should be a priority. Very disappointing experience.

I have been working for PVOAC for over 5 years as a physical therapy aide who has worked in a…read morevariety of clinical settings/locations during my career. This has to be one of the most efficiently run clinics I have been a part of given how many PTs, PTAs, and PT aides they employ. They do their absolute best to have 1:1 ratio of patient with PT which is manageable on most days with the exception during busy hours. Even during the busy hours, they have enough assistance from their coworkers as they use a team approach to provide the best patient care possible. Patients are given undivided attention by the employee during the entirety of their treatment session and they even have bilingual staff which helps reach out to more people in need of assistance during their treatment sessions. The clinic handled the pandemic phenomenally with closing down as soon as possible early in 2020 and only opened once the local government lifted restrictions. They opened following COVID-19 policies and restructured the clinic to abide by these policies as well as created a staggered schedule for the PTs so that not too many patients were being treated at the same time/risking overcrowding. All employees and patients MUST wear masks and have their temperature taken every visit with no exceptions and they've continued to be strict about that to this day (Mid-September). Machines and equipment are constantly wiped down with disinfectant wipes, patients are treated on tables more than 6ft apart, and PTs use the private treatment room as often as possible to aide in flattening the curve in Maryland, especially since the patient population comprises of "at risk" individuals during the pandemic. All in all, I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone in or near the Germantown area if they wish to be seen promptly by knowledgeable staff, want to work with employees that feel like family, and are a fan of a healthcare establishment that puts patient/employee satisfaction and safety on the forefront of their company's mission.
