From the front desk, to registration, to security, to nurses, and the MRI Tech, everything went so smoothly. Especially for us, who had no clue where to go... everyone helped and smiled. It felt so nice even before they took my son back. Strange to say how comfortable we felt sitting in the ER. Imaging staff was great - I pray you don't need any imaging in the future but if you do - HCG is highly recommended

By 6:00 am, we were brought to the prep area and the nurse helped with preparation and patiently explained everything. The anesthesiologist arrived on time, followed by the doctor. Everyone explained the processes and timing clearly. Patient was taken to surgery room at the time it was scheduled - 7:30 am. I waited in the waiting area and cafeteria (decent coffee and oatmeal) and the doctor snd nurse had taken my number down. Doctor called at the end of the procedure and I was notified when my patient was awake and ready to go home. Everything worked well and smoothly.

When I got checked in they asked for a pee sample. I explained that I had walked there and was parched and needed water. They said "ok be right back." Never came back. Another person came to give me IV. I asked him for water. Same story, never came back. A woman came to give blood test results, asked why I had not done pee test, said she would be right back with water, never came back. They really seem to go above and beyond at this place. For example, after the medical assistant took my vitals and exited the room, I started coughing / hacking uncontrollably. She heard me and came back in and proactively offered me one of their free bottled waters, which I very much appreciated. Also, when the PA/doctor later came in and I told her my symptoms and how I had tried to self-treat with some old Rx meds I had on hand (on the recommendation of my mom, who is also a nurse), she actually commended me for doing that, re-upped my Rx, and told me to keep going. Although it was no fun to be sick right before the December holidays, this place made treating that sickness less stressful than the typical urgent care. I give this place 5 stars -- maybe even 6!

Pre-op nurse Kristen; OR Bernard, Ricardo and Linda Vincent, Recovery nurse Melissa. All OR MD's and reps. From my initial orthopedic care through surgery and postoperative recovery, I felt that I was in extremely capable hands. Dr. Ilario is an exceptionally skilled surgeon. He may be quiet and understated, but his surgical expertise, professionalism, and attention to detail speak volumes. My surgery went extremely well, and I am very grateful for the quality of care and the outcome. The surgical-center staff was phenomenal. From check-in with Desethrough pre-op, the operating room, recovery, and discharge, every person I encountered was professional, organized, compassionate, and attentive. They helped make what could have been an intimidating experience feel calm, safe, and remarkably smooth. I was equally impressed with the preoperative preparation and postoperative care. Instructions were clear, my questions were addressed, and I felt that there was a coordinated plan for my care before, during, and after surgery. The follow-up and support during recovery have given me confidence that I am progressing exactly as I should. Having worked in healthcare myself, I appreciate the teamwork, preparation, and professionalism required to provide this level of care. It truly takes an entire team to produce an excellent surgical experience, and this team delivered. We've taken our baby boy to this urgent care center twice in the past seven months. And I have to…read moresay, this facility is pretty good. In December of 2023, we took our then 18-months old to the facility because he was having a 99-100 degree fever. We waited for about 60-75 minutes (it was 2am in the morning). When it was finally our turn, the nurses and doctors provided quality care. We did some testing and later found out that our baby did not have COVID or the flu. Last week, we took our baby boy again for diarrhea and diaper rash. We only waited 15 minutes this time because I registered and checked-in online. The doctor was careful in her examination and explained our next treatment steps. Overall, I think this urgent care center is awesome.

During my daughter's appointment, I clearly explained that she has a penicillin allergy and told the doctor which antibiotic she had done well on in the past. As her mother, I know how she reacts to certain medications, but the doctor chose to prescribe a different one anyway. Unfortunately, that antibiotic is now giving her a reaction. When I called to explain what was happening and asked if they could please call in a different antibiotic, the one she has safely taken before. I was told they couldn't do that and that we'd need to come back in. I don't understand why we would need to pay another $175 just to be told what I already explained: that she needs a new antibiotic. It's upsetting to feel like my concerns as a parent weren't taken seriously. Update - I reached out to their corporate offices with my concerns and was never contacted.

My beef was about why I was billed and the bottom line it was SOP for the healthcare industry. It was not about EMA. I may not like it, but I have to admit the team was doing a good job. I got accurate billing, standard collection notices and (finally) some action from EMA. I can only say it would have been better to resolve this on my first call and letter.

I received a response (letter) from and individual by the name of Thankam about a grievance that I filed with Patient Relations.  I had a horrible experience at the Shady Grove Emergency room. I due to a sudden abdomen pain. I felt yet again disrespected by this organization with the response provided by Thankam. In his response, the timeline and situation is written in a way that appears that I was at fault and disregarded medical care. This is incredibly inaccurate and disrespectful. First, it is written that the timeline about medication being administered to me within 90 minutes of my arrival is not entirely accurate. This happened after I asked several times to the front desk in the ER lobby to get medicine. By the way, I arrived to the ER before 6am and went to a room around close to 9am. Second, the way that Thankam wrote in response; "Investigations lead to a specialty consultation and recommendation for admission which the hospitalist concurred. You denied the admission offered and left our facility." This is INCREDIBLY INACCURATE. At no point whatsoever did a Doctor come see me in the 14 hours that I was at the hospital. Which most of that time I was in a room without an emergency button. Which I needed due to high pain levels. Only when I asked to be discharged after waiting 14 hours for proper attention was when a nurse started making calls to Doctors to see who would come see me. Only after I told her that I wanted to leave because I was concerned for my well-being. Only at that point was when my situation became 'important'. Only after I said I wanted to leave.  To have received such a letter from Thankam without this individual calling or even attempting to reach out to me is very frustrating because I am still being charged for this horrible experience and this individual did not reach out to me to clarify any details or to get any other facts from me. It seems like they don't care that they did a horrible job with a patient that showed up to their ER with major abdominal pain. The interesting thing is that the major abdominal pain was due to a sudden internal bleed that in the proper hospital that I went after this place, found a malignant tumor which needed to be removed. I highly recommend this doctor. The office staff is very friendly and keeps things rolling smoothly. Update: I feel I should update my review because after my last review, during the summer of 2018 I became very ill and had to be hospitalized for 9 days. The Sunday night I was so sick I had to call and Dr. Julia Korenman was the doctor on call that night. She called me quickly and spent a lot of time very patiently convincing me to go to the hospital. She was 100% right because I was very ill when I arrived at the hospital. The doctor from Capital Digestive Care on call during my hospital stay was Dr. David Jager. He was extremely kind, compassionate, and I felt he truly cared about me. After I my discharge from the hospital for my follow up exam I saw Dr. Korenman and have seen her a few times since. She is always very kind, understanding, and caring. I never feel rushed with her. I can now recommend any of the 3 doctors I have mentioned from this group.

My concerns began when a PA associated with the practice recommended a colonoscopy without ever performing a physical exam. The lack of care continued with Dr. Cohen, who provided no instructions regarding my blood thinners. She failed to coordinate with my hematologist, and after the procedure, when I had bleeding issues, I still received no guidance on stopping my medication or when to restart my medication. I felt there was a disregard for my physical health. I made it clear before the procedure that I had an Achilles tendon injury that was almost healed. Despite this, I left the procedure with a new complication to that injury, requiring me to wear a boot for at least three weeks. When I expressed my concerns about all of these complications, I felt she completely shrugged them off. I left feeling unheard and disrespected. I would not recommend seeing this physician.
