I went in and got my blood drawn a month ago, and they did fine. While I was in there, I weighed myself and found that I was a little bit overweight. Today I went back in to use their scale so I could have a good baseline of where I'm at in my diet. They refused to let me stand on their scale and weigh myself. They said I needed a doctors prescription. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! The scale was sitting there not being used. When I went in the first time and got my blood drawn, I did not have a prescription to get weighed and I told her that. They were courteous enough to let me use it, but not this time. read more

2/24/25 New year, new results needed! Made appt. Fo 3/5/25 for blood draw. They were really booked. Best I could get. They sent a text as soon as I made it for proof. 3/05/25 Can't believe it's already here!! Received notification to check in upon arrival. You can only check in 10 minutes before arrival. It won't allow it any earlier. Waited until then and checked in. Waited to be called back. Short wait and called back. Really great worker! Chatted. Kind, welcoming and easy to talk to. Stuck me without any problems and got 5 vials of blood, bandaged, told I can take off the bandage in 30 minutes, wished a good day and left! Great service & blood draw! I usually love going to the quest on N. West and Herndon. but the last 2 times have gotten a very rude and inconsiderate tech. She acted like I was at fault for her rudeness. If this were just once I would right it off but this has happened twice now. She didn't tell me her name but you will know her when you see her. Completely automated ok not problem with that, however the staff that if there well are as unpleasant as anyone I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. I was told they take my insurance but the computer system says it does not. I asked why the staff doesn't call corporate and someone in billing and inform them if the issue. Betty looked at me and said she's not in charge of billing and she doesn't call peoples insurance companies for them. I looked back at her and explained to her that's not what I was asking her to do. Usually have most of my blood draw done here. And usually they very nice but this morning everyone there had attitude. Check in was different AGAIN. I made my appt about 3months ago but I usually receive notices, emails or texts that my appt is coming up and when to check in etc. I received nothing. So when I went in I asked a tech that I have an appt, which I showed her on my phone, but received no texts. She says "I don't know, sign in over there" and points to a check in kiosk I guess you would call it. Never had to do this before. So anyway it asks for ID driver's license, insurance cards etc. then it responds that I have an appt DUH. So I sit but don't see my name on there next patient screen. A tech calls me back after about 30 seconds. Seats me then asks for my insurance cards. I said I just did this out there. So I told her it's different every time I come here. Just no response at all. I visited this location to get pre-employment testing. It was at least 80 + degrees there, and many people without proper masks crowed into the waiting room. They were able to do the drug screen collection, but lost the order (that I had given them an hour previously when I arrived) for the blood test. They were a chaotic mess. They finally found it - and drew the blood. I noticed the other blood collections were just tossed into a bin. The red tops were centriguged, but rbc were leaking up into the serum. These tests are not supposed to sit at 80+ degrees all day - and there were very many tubes in there. Then they are sent hundreds of miles away for testing - are they properly taken care of for the hours long drive in the heat? I suspect not. I am a specialist in laboratory regulatory compliance and a frequent CAP inspector and I was appalled. I advise you to find a place with a local lab - maybe a hospital? read more

So....unless you have certain unusual...hmmm...let's call them "preferences," having to get your blood drawn is not usually a pleasant experience. I'm really not a fan of getting poked and prodded but on occasion, I've been ordered by a doctor to go get some blood work done. In Fresno, nearly every doctor I've had has sent me to the Quest Diagnostics of my choice. Of course, Quest has a great appointment system (with appointments made online or by telephone), but that requires you to plan in advance. Usually, I get the order from my doctor and then forget until right before my next doctor appointment. That means no time to properly schedule an appointment, leaving me to wait in line with all the walk-ins. Depending upon which location you visit and what time you go, you can end up as frustrated and tired of waiting as you would if you went to the DMV without an appointment. I've been to this location on Herndon and West three times now. Each time, I've gone without an appointment, and each time, I've gone at slightly off hours (with peak hours being right before work, during the noon lunch hour, and right after most people get off work). I am sure if you go during peak hours, your experience will not likely be like mine. This last time, I went in a few moments after 9am, and there were only three people in front of me. I had a timed test, so I had to sit for a while--but other than the time of the test, I was in and out like a bandit. The staff was friendly. I really don't care if I get a grumpy phlebotomist because I'm not there to make friends. But friendly is always a positive. What I care more about is the skill that my person demonstrates when sticking me with a sharp object to remove my blood. I tend to be a tough draw. I always warn the phlebotomist ahead of time. Usually, even with a warning, I end up getting stuck five to ten times before success is reached. Here, the average is about two times. This last time, they succeeded on the first try, and there was no residual bruising afterwards (also unheard of!). In all, the place was clean, quiet, and the staff was efficient, skilled and polite. I'm surprised that this Quest has such low ratings. However I came here bright and early in the morning at 6:30am as I had to get blood done at the request of my doctor. Already taking time off for appointments and if you know me I hate missing work so this Quest accommodated my work schedule...5 stars automatically! But the staff was friendly and prompt...even chatted with me about my favorite breakfast foods as I was starving. Usually when I get blood work done the Techs usually use my left arm as my veins are bigger compared to my right arm. This tech decided to use my right arm and it hurt like a biscuit! Usually I don't feel any pain on my left arm....on the right side i felt everything. I am not a fan of seeing blood so I couldn't wait for the process to be over. Overall, I had no problems with the blood drawn and fingers crossed that I won't get an outrageously large bills like others complained about! Terrible service! requesting an appointment on the phone took forever as you have to listen to everything (even though it doesn't apply to you) . There is no "person" to talk with and the button that is supposed to get you a representative only gets you a recording saying this button is invalid. When i finally got my appointment i was relieved that my ordeal was over! But I did get the location, Appointment time and appointment number. I Went to my appointment the next day and could not check in because the appointment number was invalid. There is no receptionist so i had to wait till someone came out. The lady i talked to, said since i don't have an appointment id have to come back another day, and turned around and walked away. If you don't want to be there and don't like your job than you shouldn't. This staff needs serious training on customer service and professionalism. Specially Sandra the office manager! Your employees are not happy, you are not happy and you pass it on to your patients. I'm not willing to pay for your poor services. Your place is open and you have jobs because of your patients, so treat them right. There are plenty of others who have the skills, the passion and deserve to have your job and will do way better than you. Retrain or remove! Treat ALL patients equally! I hate anything to do with needles, but we all have to deal with them eventually. I went to this Quest location because they open early. I arrived 15 minutes before opening and was the first one seen. I was out within 10-15 minutes and it was about as painless as a blood draw could be. The staff I interacted with were all friendly and the lady that drew my blood was great. I've had people in the past take up to 10 tries to poke my vein (some have even wiggled the needle around after poking in hopes of catching one), but she found it easily and got it on the first try. Have gotten my blood work lots of times and NEVER had anything like this happen after. This past Monday got bloodwork drawn by Alice. Developed a hematoma because technician went through vein so blood pooled in that location. It's feels like a large know is under my skin. Has been really really sore and have hardly been able to use my arm since then. Never going there again. read more

Went in to this location with a sterilized specimen bottle and doctor paperwork as instructed by doctor. Four girls behind counter and no one waiting. The order was from a prominent doctor in town, less than 3 blocks away, and the girls said they couldn't accept it since there was no doctor phone number. Then they proceeded to tell me it had to be a "first morning" specimen. I relayed to them that my doctor told me within one hour of specimen, not morning. She said she would call the doctor and talk to him, but since she didnt have a number she couldn't call. I didnt have the number with me and I had just driven 45 minutes to bring the specimen. I asked her if she could look up the number. She just stared. The 3 other girls just stood there. I asked her if she had internet or phone book. She told me "No." No one offered to help call doctor, or find the phone number. I did not have my phone with me. Their attitudes were to simply "draw a paycheck" but not do any work for that check. A medical office should not have that caliber of people working there! They were cold, unfriendly, and refused to help! I left with my paperwork and specimen and told them, I wasnt there to "play their games." They just shrugged. What happened to customer service?! First, the address. The address should be 7035 N West Avenue Suite 107, not "NW Ave". I switched to this quest office because the office on First Street in Fresno had terrible customer service. When I went in several weeks ago to have my lab work done, the phlebotomist was outstanding. She was friendly and helpful and took time to explain everything to me. One of the tests required me to collect a sample over 24 hours. I was told that after collecting the sample, I need to return to the office and drop off the collection. When I arrived, I experienced the same problem that I found at the First Street. The unfriendly woman at the counter wanted me to sign in and sit down and wait. I explained to her that I was just dropping off my sample, but she didn't want to hear it. When I told her that I didn't have time to wait she simply shrugged. I couldn't wait so I planned to return another day. I returned twice shortly before closing time, which is posted at 4:00 pm. Both times the doors were locked before the posted closing time. On my fourth return, I came early afternoon. I told the receptionist that I was there to drop off a sample. This time I was told that I would have to wait at least 15 minutes before she could help me. I was quite displeased. It's not that I mind waiting 15 minutes, that's not really a long time. It's that it is completely unnecessary. All of the information they need is already with the sample and their new computer system makes it quite easy to match the sample with the order. It just seems completely arbitrary to make patients wait unnecessarily. There are really two issues. The first being that the phlebotomist and receptionist are not providing the same information to patients. The second, and frankly more troubling issue, is the lack of respect and courtesy I experienced and witnessed from the receptionist. It might be helpful if the employees working the counter recognized that this is a healthcare environment and as such they should provide a higher level customer service than one might find at the neighborhood 7-Eleven. read more

The good- short wait times, competent phlebotomists. The bad- They missed a Stat on my lab slip today. I'd had to restructure my week and figure out childcare for my toddler to make it in on time, so this visit inconvenienced me and my sitter only to have Quest drop the ball. I was anxious all day for my results- in a lot of pain and hoping my test levels warranted switching my meds from current ones. No answer, which means at least one more excruciating intramuscular shot, and potentially costing me $$$ due to insurance billing nonsense. All due to their negligence. In addition, their collection attempts are obnoxious. I am in no way delinquent, but have had many lab visits this month. My husband paid the invoices last week. Asking loudly and pointedly "So you won't be paying your bill today?" In full hearing of all in the waiting a room is beyond the pale. Why would I pay double to be treated so poorly?! She didn't want to answer simple questions, she spoke to me in a condescending tone when it's funny how she has no idea I have experience working in the medical field, she couldn't differentiate between a rhetorical question verses a normal one, and she doesn't even say "your welcome". Quest expected me to approve a charge to my credit card for 6 times the amount of my co-payment before the blood was drawn or my insurance was been billed. I called my insurance company and they said that quest has a contract with them and that they could not bill me until the insurance had processed the claim. No thank you Quest. I would give them zero stars if possible. When presented with new insurance information the intake person was too lazy to enter it. When asked if they entered this new information was assured they had. Now after receiving a denial of coverage from insurance that was valid almost 5 years, I can't reach a live human in their billing department to assist me. After various dead ends, where I was assured that a live person would help me, only to be hung up upon, I contacted the prior insurance & was told this happens all the time with Quest. When my husband went to the physical location he was told they couldn't help him. When asked why the current insurance information wasn't in their computer - they had no explanation. They gave him the same number that I have wasted almost 2 hours over the course of 2 days trying rectify. They want us to pay almost $2000.00 for a simple blood panel.
