Extremely Frustrating Billing and Customer Service Experience In 2024, I had an incident at my dentist's office where a dental technician was accidentally exposed to my blood. For the technician's peace of mind, the dental office asked me to have a blood test completed at their expense, and I agreed. My dentist provided me with paperwork to take to Quest Diagnostics, including specific instructions on how the testing should be billed and where the bill should be sent. Unfortunately, Quest apparently sent the bill to an address that was not associated with either me or my dentist. As a result, the bill was never received or paid. Nearly two years later, I was shocked to discover that the $1,000 bill had been sent to collections. The frustrating part is that no one is disputing the bill. My dentist simply needs a copy of the invoice so they can submit payment for the testing, as originally agreed. My dentist even contacted Quest directly in an effort to resolve the issue, but Quest refused to work with them and told me that I needed to call. I have now contacted both Quest and the collections agency, yet Quest has still refused to provide me with a copy of the invoice. This is incredibly frustrating. I was never sent the original bill, yet Quest allowed the account to go to collections. Now, when my dentist is willing to pay the bill, Quest won't provide the documentation needed to process the payment. I have made every effort to resolve this, and I simply cannot understand why Quest won't provide a copy of an invoice so the bill can be paid. This should be a very simple issue to resolve, but Quest's customer service has made it unnecessarily difficult. read more

Do not expect to be seen in a timely matter with a walk in. I came soon after they opened and the standby list for walk in was 30 minutes minimum and goes up as more people with appointments are trickling in. Even with an appointment I still had to wait about an hour. Once I was seen, the lady who did my work was fast and informative. She makes up the 2 stars. There is no front receptionist, just a check in kiosk. Very poor experience compared to other places i've been sent to for pre employment reasons. read more

I can't say this location is looking to serve customer. So I read on the website they take walk-in appointments. I show up and there is no one in the waiting room. The attendant says they would prefer me to leave then schedule an appointment. Since I am a repeat customer, I have their app on my phone. So I pull it out to make an appointment. She then says I cannot sit in the empty waiting room to make the appointment. I would need to make it from my car. I am masked up and being as courteous as possible at this point. So I look at the website and it tells me there is an 11 minute wait for walk in appointments. I would love to say they had a sign on the door that they are not taking walk in appointments but it did not exist. Of course even though I make an appointment here, I am choosing to go to a different location. If I can't trust them to follow simple rules, I cannot trust them with my health. Next time I think I will look at transferring to Labcorp. read more

I went to have lab work they wanted my credit card immediately to have on file and also to pay immediately which was over $100 something in the range of $168. I informed them no I did not have my credit card and I did not want to have my card on file, they said that was the new procedure. I come to find out that all I owed once my health insurance kicked in was $7.28!!! I don't think this is a good practice to take someone's credit card and have it on file and pay for immediately for any lab work done not good practice. read more

This is the first and last time we will schedule a lab appointment at this location. Very unprofessional. Don't understand why they have not replaced the person at the front desk yet. I'm pretty sure she (girls at the front desk) reads these messages about her and just loves the negative reactions. Clearly, there is no organization so appointments mean nothing. My wife had to schedule at this location because the location she normally goes to was closed today. It is very apparent that the two locations that she has been to now are extremely different, like night and day. Wife is writing a letter directly to QD about this incident. I wish we had read the yelp comments before committing to this Quest location because the review are true. If Quest Diagnostics actually cared about how customers felt about this location, they need to replace management and staff ASAP. Super quick, super efficient and made it very easy! I was surprised when arriving at 8:20 that they weren't busy and they got me in, took care of drawing my blood, had me verify the information like my name, DOB, address, etc.... and then finished quickly. Great location and much improved from back in 2012 when my insurance last allowed me to come to Quest to get my blood drawn for lab testing. In the past, I remember it being so inefficient, slow, and took forever to get through. Not anymore and I'll be back to this location whenever I need to get blood drawn for lab testing. read more

The people here are very nice, Mai was very kind and did a great job drawing my blood. The office and lab area however are in TERRIBLE condition. This is my last time using Quest Diagnostics, they are clearly ultra low budget with a core focus on drug testing. The blood drawer was unable to read a printout by the Doctor she was unsure what she was doing and she had to read all information several times. she also asked me for money upfront which is never done at quest. First time going to this location today. For those that had bad experiences, here is what I did. I scheduled an appointment on a Monday morning to avoid any rush. When arriving the parking was very limited but the check in process was quick and easy at the check-in kiosk. There will not be any person at the desk because they are inside all the time. The test started on-time and the technician, Kayla, was friendly and accurate in handling the screening test. I'm guessing folks that don't make appointments probably have a tougher time. The appointment system does not send emails or texts as reminders as far as I know, so don't expect that much. read more

Quest had messed up my appointment 2 times at a different location. They had called this location to let them know i was coming and to see me first. I get there at 7:20am and the lady there was instantly rude to me after I explained what was going on. She acted like nobody called her. She wouldnt call the other place for me. Wouldnt let me to talk to somebody in charge. All she kept doing was telling me she wasnt going to see me unless i wanted to wait as a walk in. She walked away from me and enters through the employee door. I go and wait at the main entrance for her to open it, when she opens it i start explaining again, she tells me shes not going to see me and gave me crazy attitude and then shuts the door in my face. All i can say is clearly if quest screws up nobody there cares they just send you somewhere else and don't communicate even though they claim they do. Lady who opened at 7:30am on July 28th 2021- Dont be mad at people because you hate your job. You were unbelievably rude. If you wanted a better job you should have made better life decisions. I get test done at Quest semi annually. I went there today- the wait area was congested- standing room only, with a heavyset young man sitting right next to the check in kiosk sneezing his head off- not covering his mouth. Regarding the check in monitor- they do not provide an implement or hand wipes to clean your hands afterwards or a screen cleaner so you can clean the screen before touching it to check in. This leaves you with having to use your fingers to check in with and now you are getting every ones germs on your hands. If you have a question to ask there is no one available to talk to. The reception desk is vacant, with a monitor blocking your view to see if anyone is behind the desk. I saw a lady through the reception glass walk over to the fax machine. I tapped on the glass to get her attention-which I did accomplish, she looked at me and walked away as though I was not really there. 1 hour passed and they only called in 1 patient. So, I walked out. Having an appointment really didn't matter. It felt like I was in a 3rd world country. How is this better service? They have a lot to improve on and I am going to look for another lab. I suggest you do the same. read more

I can't believe the customer service here. The ONLY reason I'm not giving it one star is because there was one lady here I've encountered a couple times who was actually pleasant. But every other phlebotomist here is rude, short, and condescending. What the hell, guys? People are just trying to get their blood drawn; it's not their fault you hate your job. It is very, very clear from the moment you talk to the front desk individual that everyone hates their jobs. There's no other way to put it. They hate talking to you, they hate the forms they have to fill out, they hate the phone calls they have to take (and sometimes they just don't pick up--I watch them deliberately ignore the ringing phone), they hate that this is what their lives have come to. One of my friends used to do lab work for Quest Diagnostics, and she said herself that everyone hates that job, and that they take it out on customers and patients. It is extremely unprofessional. Goodness, at least fake the politeness like everyone else does. I always come here with my dad, who has to get blood tests done every two weeks for liver cirrhosis. Almost every time, the receptionist is rude and treats me like I'm a stupid 4-year old. The one time my dad went by himself because I had to work, he had forgotten to bring the doctor's order for what tests needed to be run. My dad called me so I could translate because he didn't understand what was happening, and I could clearly hear her over the phone talking down to my 75-year old dad whose first language is obviously not English. It absolutely infuriated me, and I admittedly snapped and told her to f*** off and stop treating my dad like crap just because she hates her life. Yes, I was wrong for that. But it's almost like she was purposely talking fast with big words so that he would get flustered and angry (which he did), just so she would have some weird masochistic hatefuel to hate her job more. She kept trying to talk over me and eventually threw the phone back to my dad, who was still confused. I could hear her literally yelling at my dad to "get out, I've got other things to deal with right now!" Hey lady--If you were working the front desk on April 25, 2016 at 12:30pm, you need to stop taking out your unhappiness on other people. I came here (on Main Street) a few days ago and was weary based on some of the reviews I was reading but the staff here are amazing. Even with the pandemic and all the extra precautions, check-in was streamlined even without an appointment. I was seen within 10 minutes and the phlebotomist was really nice, efficient, and getting my blood drawn was painless. All of the employees here are super nice and friendly. read more

Had a wonderful experience at the site in Fair Oaks in the Safeway store. This is a very modern Safeway store, and the office is located right next to the Pharmacy. We had an appointment and we were met on time. Sadio was great! She was very patient with my son who was getting the tests, and he said afterwards he didn't feel the needle to draw blood -- (he normally complains). I have been in the chair waiting for the phlebotomist to take my blood for 45 minutes so far. I was told to call my doctor's office multiple times to "prove the information" I have given her is correct. There were no pleasantries. I have been ignored, and spoken to as if I am a child. I came here recently because it was late in the day and all the labs were closing and this one was the closest proximity. I ended up walking in the door one minute before closing. I was pretty desperate to get this blood work done so it would be ready for next week's doctor appointment. I expected people to be annoyed because it was a Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend, but they were not and took me right back. The tech was understanding and kind and I really appreciated that because I was in pain. She did not rush and did everything methodically and carefully even though I'm sure she was anxious to get on with her weekend. When we brought our child for a routine blood test, we were appalled by the staff's behavior. Not one smile, not one second of the small talk. They also got upset and defensive about the fact that they could not draw blood because the 2.5 year old child did not sit sufficiently still. Show me a child of that age who sits still for this procedure and I'll show you a unicorn. Medical staff that accepts children ( and children's insurance) should have adequate skills to get the job done. Dirty and slow. Doctors' waiting rooms never inspire tons of confidence in terms of hygiene, but at Quest, you don't even want to sit in the chairs. Facility is in the lower level at the back of the building--and it feels like you're in some guy's basement. Confidence-inspiring. Appointments seem to be nothing more than a reminder for you to show up at a certain time and wait. The staff certainly doesn't honor appointment times, instead going on "first-come, first-serve" basis. That means you can show up 10 minutes before your appointment time and wait an hour while they serve walk-ins and people with appointments after yours. Staff doesn't understand their computer system, and billing questions are hopeless. Only pro was the nurse/technician, who was friendly and professional. +1 star for her and her alone. read more

I'm a novice when it comes to having blood drawn and I'm not particularly fond of needles. The nurse was very accommodating and put my mind at ease during the process. This was my first time visiting this facility. I did not have appointment. The waiting time was about 45minutes because I had 5 people that came before me and one person who had appointment. There were two nurses/technicians that were working both the window and the blood drawing. This is an efficient setup. The nurse/technician drawing blood was courteous and skillful.
