Per Doctors orders, went in to drop off a sample. After waiting around ten mins was told I needed to make an appointment to drop off. Made appointment, returned early, was told there was no requisition in their system to submit to. My doc said had sent. They resent. They could see my account. Had another way to submit once I showed them order I had. Since I had captured a clear example of the parasite they told me 2-3 days for results. It has now been over a week. Health continues to deteriorate. Staff and manager on-site told me data accuracy was not their responsibility. Gave me their general number to call and ask for help getting my data updated. Please tell me I am not alone in wondering what a manager does in a data based business if she is not responsible for data accuracy and reliability? Confused and, oh yea, riddled with parasites and bleeding. Hope this prevents suffering for someone. read more

Nice folks and easy scheduling. A lot of doctors have, switched their phlebotomy work out of the office. It is rather annoying, especially if you've reached that age of "I don't give a flying something." You have to drive in bumper to bumper car, for a procedure, although it is what it is. From what doctor said, less young folks are phlebotomists. Tis a shame, so young men and women, please get paid well to drain blood from others. All kidding aside, I like this one. They work with your schedule and doctors office well. Also their techs won't have the "I can't find a vein" excuse. Yes some try to pull this baloney, but that won't be going on here. It's clean, organized, and parking is a cinch. Everything is explained simply, and while I wish this could be handled in practice, am grateful for this service. read more

Came in to draw blood for our 4 year old. Nurse kept yelling at our child to stop moving when he wasn't moving at all, actually held down by both parents and a nurse while she struggled for 5+ min to find his blood vessel. I get it, it's hard but don't yell and blame the child while already scared and not moving at all. After all of that, and taking 6 tubes of blood. the nurse failed to complete one of the two orders we came in with. We worried that she wasn't paying attention when we specified twice that there were two orders and she assured us she got it. She didn't. We have to release this and there is no way to call in and asked what happened with the blood work or the order. No way to call in. Inept nurse. read more

The rude snotty witch at the desk wouldn't take me for my appointment bc I was 9 minutes late.... even though you have to wait outside for her to take her sweet ass time to let you in. She is unprofessional, slow, dumpy. unkempt and clearly hates her life. She also doesn't have a name tag of course. Caridad is such a wonderful lab tech... otherwise I wouldn't be back. Please let go of this minimum wage front desk loser. read more

The phlebotomists here must have little training. The one that took me back took over half an hour to process the paperwork. Then, she wasn't able to draw blood from either of my arms, but took her time painfully poking me unsuccessfully. A more experienced person eventually came to help. I have had better luck at other Quest Diagnostics. I think I'm going to start going to LabCorp because this experience was bad enough that I can't ever go back there. read more

Currently writing this while in the waiting room. I was a walk-in and the estimated wait time was 17 minutes. I've now been here for over 75 minutes. While I understand my mistake for not making an appointment, I still would have appreciated a more accurate wait time. I assumed that if I came at 10:30, there would not be a considerable wait, unfortunately, I was wrong. I would not have wasted the past 75 minutes being here if I knew it would take that long. Even more interestingly, the current board says I only have another 3 minutes to wait, however it has said that for 30 minutes. A more updated scheduling method would be greatly appreciated. The wait room is fine, although the door bangs loudly every time someone leaves and comes. read more

URGENT!!! Managers of quest - please note: Got my labwork (blood tests) done on June 15 2022 from quest lab at arlington boulevard fairfax va. Submitted lab test result request online twice till now. I had an appointment and the person who drew my blood did an ok job but not an awesome job

Unfortunately I have had to use this location because of its proximity to my OB office. The first time the receptionist verified my gestational date and said I was within the window to get the blood draw. When I got the bill it said that the results were inaccurate because I had the blood drawn too early! I had to go for a redraw AND they had the audacity to bill me twice! Next I went for a 3 hr glucose tolerance test. This involves a fasting sugar and the rechecks at 1,2 and 3 hours after I drink a sugar solution. I was not allowed to leave the premises in between. I arrived at 7:15 am and did not have an appointment. I understand that people with appointments need to be checked in first but do they really have to check in people who are 30 min early for their appointments? The phlebotomist and receptionist were constantly chit chatting and then instead of drawing blood the phlebotomist started helping with check ins! It is now 8 am, 45 min since I arrived for a 3 hour test! I am still not checked in and the lab closes at 11. Unfortunately my insurance only covers quest but it may be time for a different location. read more

The technicians that do the actual "testing" are very good, friendly and skilled. Never had a bad one. The problem is the receptionist staff. I know it is the time of Covid but they are rude, condescending, demanding, almost to the point of aggressive. I use a walking stick (age and healthy issues) and I felt so threatened that I almost used stick to push her away. These people would be right home at a concentration camp. Maybe Auschwitz or Dachau. read more

When I came here, my boyfriend and I were getting blood work done on the same day. After about waiting close to an hour, his name was called. I was excited because that meant I was next! After about another thirty minutes passed and he was done and we were still sitting there, I knew something was wrong. I went up and talked to the nurses, saying I came at the same time as he did but was yet to be called. They told me to sit back down, that they would call me in just a moment. After a few more people, I realized this was not the case. So I went back up, and the nurse looked back over the previous sign-in sheets, realizing they HAD skipped me. Not even apologizing she called me next and before getting blood work done they told me there is an error finding my doctor on their system. After about 10 minutes of them calling different places they finally believed that he existed, and drew my blood. Then they were confused about the handwriting on my lab slip. Instead of approaching me they approached my boyfriend, asking what medication I was taking. Of course he was kind of confused since I had just switched medications (both starting with the letter T) and he gave the old one, not the new one. If I wouldn't have looked on the paper casually, I would have been tested for the wrong thing! I don't understand why they wouldn't ask the patient these questions...? COMPLETELY unprofessional. Rude. They don't understand the idea of being nice even when they are completely busy. To top it off, they NEVER sent my doctor the results, after I signed the release so they would. You could not pay me to go back to that place. I now go to Lab Corp, located in the next building over. read more

Summary: The staff are rude, the facilities are dirty and appear to be under staffed. The experience: I had to have routine blood work done and made an appointment for 11:30 on Saturday. I showed up 10 minutes ahead of time and waited 15 minutes at the counter for one of the nurses to acknowledge me, despite making eye contact and calling out, "excuse me." When the nurse finally did acknowledge me she was abrupt and rude. Making things more awkward was an argument she was having with a family over a stool sample they had provided from their child. The "sample" was in a container and the nurse kept waving it around. The contents were visible enough and I was terrified the lid was going to fly off. The waiting room was absolutely packed. All the seats were taken and I was one of about a half dozen who were standing. After about another 10 minutes I was called back (now 15 minutes after my appointment time) by the same nurse who had been so rude to me at the front. I then sat at an information booth for another 10 minutes where the woman who had been waving around a stool sample and had been so rude to me took my essential information. She then abruptly got up conferred with a co-worker who pointed to another co-worker and the three of them started having a yelling match over which door to let the patients out of. The front or the back. Then the stool sample woman directed a patient to hold the front door closed so that no other people could come in. The patient erred in letting a person in and the stool sample woman yelled at him for ignoring her orders and that she would make him leave if he didn't hold the door closed. The stool sample woman then turned to me and started complaining about not only the man who had let the additional person in, but her co-workers. Finally I was taken back to have a single vial of blood taken. The floors were dirty, the chairs were dirty and the tables where the supplies were kept were dirty. The stool sample woman didn't take my blood, however, the nurse who did was pleasant and professional. The entire experience was bizarre and creepy. I can't get the image of the stool sample in the container rolling back and forth out of my mind. You could not pay me to go back there. read more

I visited as a walk-in at Quest in Fairfax, signed in via the automated Kiosk, which was very user friendly. My wait time was approximately 1hr. I made an appointment at 8501 Arlington Blvd #120, Fairfax, VA 22031 for Tuesday, May 26, 2020-10:45 AM EDT to avoid other people because I'm high risk if exposed to COVID. The COVID Quest solution was to have people, 15 in my case, wait in line outside the Quest waiting room. I guess this avoids responsibility. Nobody observed social distancing in the hallway. One person complained about being in line for an hour. It took 25 minutes to call my appointment so I got in at 11:10. I was told that they did not do the test the Dr. ordered and would have to call the Dr. for a substatute. I walked out. Totally unsatisfactory. read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS LAB Donnie Mason was very helpful on 12/30/16 when I dropped off my sample. But unfortunately, as of 01/30/17, I have not received my results. I have to say that after having a horrible experience in McLean at the Safeway's Quest, this was a breath of fresh air. This was a disaster of an appointment. Staff was rude, wait time was long (over an hour with an appointment), I didn't get answers to my questions, and there wasn't the level of cleanliness one would expect at a clinic during covid (nobody cleaned the chairs after different people sat in them). I asked what my testing entailed when they drew my blood but I did not get an answer. I had to call a number to have them send paperwork even though I made the appointment in advance. This was the most frustrating experience and I would not return. read more

WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, one of the ladies in the back collecting information and specimens is mean, rude and just has a nasty way of treating patients. I was told to get blood drawn on the third day of my cycle. If your cycle is unpredictable, you won't be able to make an appointment too easily. If you can manage to go on a weekday, I highly recommend using the online scheduler, it's great. If you have to go on a weekend and cannot get an appointment, like I had to, you should show up 15 minutes before they open and hang tight. When they open (on time, and not a minute sooner) they'll get to you quickly. Please, thank you, and smiles go a long way here as the folks who are taking blood probably feel like vampires taking blood from a sea of people who come through every day. I had no issues and am happy to use this place again. read more

I typically go elsewhere for blood work but had to go to Quest this time. Their website said it allowed for walk-ins so I went there right when they opened after lunch on a Friday. I tried logging into their kiosk and their front desk tablet gave confusing information. (If you say "self-pay" there are no walk-in appts available, do it again and say you have insurance and then it tells you to wait to be called. What the heck??) Two women were in the back and never came close to the front desk window. They let their male friend in through a side door but patients in the waiting room were never addressed. I tried unsuccessfully to try and get someone's attention to find out if I was actually on a waitlist for walk-ins. There was only one other person there and she said she had an appointment that had already passed and was hoping to be called soon. I sat down and made an appointment for another Quest site while waiting. The staff there were pathetically sneaking around the front desk area to avoid any patient interaction. I wouldn't be surprised if they were crawling under the desk to avoid being seen. It was the bizarre. After 30 minutes I left and drove to another site. read more

I didn't have a yelp account before but this experience was so bad that I had to make one. I just got a new job so my healthcare changed, I used to be covered by the military. I came here because the location was convenient and in the same building of the doctor that put in my monthly blood work order. My first visit was nothing extraordinary, I made an appointment was seen in a reasonable amount of time and the nurse was pleasant. My second visit was AWFUL, if I could give 0 stars I would. I had an appointment for a Friday at 3:00pm and wasn't seen until 3:15, after that it all went down hill. First, they didn't have my standing blood order on file, even though I watched the nurse on my previous visit copy and file my order. The lady was very unhelpful and didn't seem to care at all. Luckily I was able to run upstairs to get a new blood work order. I came back down and the nurse (different than the first one I had seen that day) was on her cell phone taking a personal call the whole time she was checking me in and getting the labels done for my tubes. She was very nice while she actually took my blood, stuck me on the first time and helped distract me from the whole thing (I am absolutely terrified of needles). I thought I was all set and could proceed to get my prescribed meds that required the blood work. I used the restroom on my way out only to find that the water in the sink was not working. It was very apparent that the nurses had only been using germx to wash their hands! The rest of the office wasn't very clean either. These meds are required to be filled in 7 days or the blood test has to be redone again. My doctors office had not filled my prescription on the following Monday or Tuesday after the test. I come to find out that this is because Quest did not fax over my results to my doctor. I called the location and it was the same nurse who couldn't find my paper work that answered the phone. I calmly explained to her that the first time the results were faxed over no problem and I was wondering why it was not done so this time. She was very rude and standoffish saying that they don't fax over the orders and that she couldn't help me. She refused to even print a copy of the results for me to give to my doctor (just two floors up), e-mail, or call them. She gave me their customer service number and hung up. I gave the customer service number to my doctor to call to get my blood work faxed over, she said they didn't pick up and left a message. At this point I only had two days left to get my prescription filled. They didn't get back to my doctor until 24 hours later on a day that she was out of the office (this is a whole new terrible doctor experience in itself). Now I am locked out of the seven day window to get my meds and have to go to the same location to get new blood work done because of their mistake. I will never be going back here. read more

Quest Diagnostics - Laboratory Testing Near Me - Fairfax, Virginia

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience!! The employee DIOSDADO was RUDE, CONDESCENDING, MEAN, ARROGANT, DEMEANING, and so full of his own expertise that I was APPALLED!!! He first said that my doctor wasn't in the system so he would have to add her manually. I explained that she sends all of her patients here and she moved recently, so maybe it was a different address. He insisted that he was an expert and knew everything. She is not listed and he just added her so she would get the results MAILED (snail mail) and (maybe) faxed too. Would she get the results before my appointment? Who knows and clearly they don't care. Next I politely told him that my doctor manually added a VERY specific test that needed to be handled a special way. I believed it was an antibody test. He said that HE KNEW EVERYTHING and was condescending. He angrily said "Look, let me do my job!!!!" I politely asked him if he should ask someone else just to make sure and he replied "These people ask ME, I don't ask them!" Meaning HE KNOWS EVERYTHING. So this African American lady comes in and he finally asks her about one test he can't find. She notices that he put in my doctors info manually and she says "You know that this doctor IS in our system, but she moved and has a new phone number so you have to search for it" I asked her (so that I know in the future) how to find her and she meanly says to me "I don't know it and it's the doctors responsibility to contact their Quest rep and get it straightened out!" I explained that I'm sure they need to do that but IM THE ONLY ONE WHO IS GOING TO BE HURTING when I get to the appt and she doesn't have my results. Is there anything I can do. Both employees' attitudes were "NOT MY PROBLEM!" This is THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!!! I cannot believe Quest runs their operations this way! read more

I went to this Quest Lab yesterday because I was unable to reach anyone online and did not have a good experience. The reception walked away from the front desk for about 20 minutes, when I inquired as to whether Quest could do my blood work, I was told they needed to check with Baltimore. After waiting another 10 minutes, the receptionist (Christina) called Pat in Baltimore and was informed that Quest could not do the test. I asked to speak with Pat, who was identified as the "Customer Service Rep" and was told "No, you can't talk with her. She has no other information to give you". Needless to say I was surprised by this response and hoped Pat or the receptionist could direct me elsewhere. I walked out and went next door to the Inova testing lab. It was light night and day. I'd never been to either lab before, but Inova (Rebecca at the front desk and Grace) were unbelievably helpful. I would not recommend Quest...the reviews are accurate. read more
