Take the stairs up to get to the entrance of the Urgent Care Center. The other way to find a place is to park in the garage and then walk around on the outside of the garage to find the stairs that lead to the entrance of the Urgent Care center. There are signs on the walls that will indicate the Urgent Care Center. Cons: First, they give you forms that are copied from an original that was obviously highlighted so you can't see some of the words. I don't understand why they can't get a clean copy of the forms. Second, the forms are outdated and do not have a lot of room for you to write your medical history, medications, etc. Third, the medical assistant needs more tact in communication. She opened the door and pointed in my direction, but I was sitting around a group of people, so it wasn't clear who she was pointing to. She should have announced the last name of the person. It's rude to point fingers at people. I tried to clarify if she was asking for me to come up, and then, she says yes you. She has very poor communication skills. She does not greet you at all. She doesn't explain the process or what to do after the visit is over. I have managed medical clinics, so I know what I am talking about. Pros: The receptionist seemed proficient. The place is clean and seems organized. The wait is usually not that long, but you can always call ahead to see how long the wait is. The physician assistant seemed proficient and was friendly. As with any medical visit, always call ahead to confirm if they take your insurance and bring your ID and insurance card(s), a list of your current medications, medical conditions/history, and other names of your other doctors to make it easier. I would visit them again to give them another chance if I ever needed Urgent Care again. I hope they use this feedback to improve.

I found the larger organization called Quest Diagnostics as unethical. I had a series of blood test…read moreand a laboratory test drawn for the anticipated visit to a cardiologist and got back a bill from quest diagnostics that stated certain tests were denied and most tests not remunerated by the primary Insurance organization this time called Medicare. I am a physician and thought that there was some miscoding as a cause of these non-payments I absolutely could not check though I called the billing center ( (844) 750-4024) for this organization in Baltimore to determine if there were miscoding as a basis for nonpayment by Medicare. I was informed that they could not see this type of information in their system which is an absolute lie. I know because I am a licensed physician and virtually medical billing systems have the information available in irder to be able to bill any insuring organization. There was some miscoding that I had to find this out in an extremely circuitous, time consuming way. I consider this unethical behavior. Ultimately no ordinary patient could get this type of information to discover that a reason that they were being made to pay a bill which was not legitimate was because of a clerical error was involved as the basis for these denials. I was told that they could not even check to see if this had occurred in their billing system which again was a bold faced lie. All medical billing systems have this type of information available. This cost me many unnecessary man hours to find what the problem was which in some cases was incorrect billing information i.e. incorrect ICD -10 coding problems. Therefore no ordinary patient could find out that the source of a non-payment of a laboratory test by an insuring organization was due to clerical entry errors by Quest. I consider this highly unethical behavior for one of the country's largest laboratories. Dr. S.

This practice seems to be all over Virginia, I found them after my original rheumatologist of…read morealmost 20 years Dr. Rosalia Lomeo retired. No one will ever be a good replacement for her, so I went in with low expectations. So far the Willow Oaks office has been ok, they did change the major treatment, but luckily they didn't do the nightmare scenario of changing everything, or making me start at the beginning again. I'm irritated I have to see a separate pain specialist, pain is part of a rheumatology diagnosis for most, so forcing patients to make separate appointments for chronic pain seems part silly, part taking financial advantage of patients. But I guess this is part of the new chain style of medicine in the U.S. Dr. Lomeo was old fashioned, and treated all symptoms of her specialty, and left specialists for areas outside of her expertise, of which pain is included for ALL rheumatologists, can you tell I miss her yet? The office staff is largely quick and efficient, they do their best to navigate my insurances that try to get out of paying. I admit I prefer dealing with some, who are friendlier. But they're all decent. Seating is comfortable, and appointments are mostly on time, but as with all rheumatologists, you may find they run late because sometimes patients just need more time at their appointments. Have patience, and bring a book just in case. Parking is easy because the office is between free car parks, beware though, because the carpark elevator often breaks down. The infusion center is at the same office, which is convenient. The nurses here are very nice, normal Geri-chairs to lay or sit in. Be prepared to make future appointments well in advance. And they do blood draws here and in the office, which almost makes up for the pain clinic nonsense. So far, the patients that come here are also pretty chill as well. The doctors and PAs are professional, and do try to ensure you have the right protocols. I'm not looking for a cure, just stability and they're getting there. I love Alisha the PA, she's good natured and answers all my questions. Dr. Bodadi is quiet, but thoughtful and seems kind. I've dealt with my diseases since childhood, and was a nurse; so my experiences may be much different than someone else who's looking for a miracle. With the disappearing population of old fashioned practice, that treats the whole person; this office is probably as good as it gets unless you can find a concierge rheumatologist. Don't know about the other offices though.

Once you enter and check in, they tell you to have a seat and fill out paperwork. They call you, introduce themselves and tell you where to go and change. When it's time to enter the scanning room, it's sorta erie. To be honest - the process is slightly uncomfortable, but I try to focus on good thoughts and and maintain proper perspective. The scanning takes about 10 minutes. Typically, you tell them who your Primary Doctor or Obgyn is and they send the results to them. Then you're supposed to check back with your primary care or obgyn doctor to discuss the test results. I never do that step because I forget. They will mail the results directly to you within 1 month of the appointment so you can get results that way as well. Service at the check-in counter is sort of chaotic or hit or miss. - 2 stars In my personal opinion, I felt as though the overall attitude of professionalism has a lot of room for improvement. I got the sense some of the ladies were either not quite awake, bored, or lacking enthusiasm in their job and did not want to be be there. Not super welcoming. I felt like a number because they lacked warmth and hospitality. Smiles go a very long way during a medical appointment that causes many people anxiety. Nevertheless, stay on top of those mammograms! Encourage a friend to stay on top of theirs! Go with a friend or relative if they're sorta anxious about going by themselves. Schedule an appointment the same week or day with a friend to keep each other accountable. Once you get into the routine, it's completely doable.
