I walked in before another walking patient. I checked first but they took person behind me walked in later. Both of us are walk-ins and don't have a prior appointment. Staff needs to be trained on first come first serve for walk-ins. My test needs to be done before 9am and I missed it because of the meetup by the front desk staff. read more

It took 1 1/2 hours for a simple fasting blood draw for a diabetic. They say the computer didn't read his ID card at check in. People don't do anything,, you check in yourself. That is a ridiculous amount of time to wait, causing difficulty. Would NEVER recommend. read more

Went here because of the good Yelp reviews and also because this place checked all my boxes unlike a few other test sites (closed, unresponsive on phone, couldn't perform all tests, bad reviews, etc.). Cons: ended up waiting 25 minutes even though I had an appointment and showed up and checked in minutes before the appointment time. No one ever answered No one ever called me back after leaving 2 messages, that was over a week ago Didn't know they took appointments With that being said I was surprised. I must admit my visit went well and smoothly today. In and out in fifteen minutes. Employees were helpful and friendly. Mark was my technician. He was very attentive, pleasant and skilled. We were engaged in conversation and I hadn't really realized he had already drawn one tube of blood. If you make a reservation online, this is typically a great location with a super smooth and efficient experience. But they do take walk-in's as well. Once you check in, you can choose to wait elsewhere (hall, your car) and they'll text you when they're ready, or you can take a chair in the waiting room (albeit now sparsely furnished due to Covid rules). I have thin veins and I've never had a bad draw here, and I've taken my kids with autism here since they were very young because the phlebotomists are typically very skilled and get their draw on the first stick (even for wiggling babies and kids). It's my preferred family blood draw location for good reason. Can't go wrong here. read more

I have really scarred veins from cut down-IVs. The last 15 attempts to draw blood with multiple highly experienced providers failed. Blood draws for me are often traumatic and disastrous. I rolled into labcorp and Mark was like, "I have got this." To my utter amazement he got it on the first try and it was the least painful blood draw I have ever had. He also took took Time to teach me about needle gauges so I know what to ask for in case he is not there next time. He was kind considerate, the facility was really bright and inviting. The process was convenient and easy. If you have a needle phobia this is the place to go. I really didn't feel anything. I can't talk about the technicians behind the door but the front desk staff was extremely rude, especially the guy covering the front desk. I only needed to bring home a specimen kit. I didnt need to see anyone or leave anything. Instead, he points to the Sign In kiosk & directs me to sign in. I did & sat down with a room packed full of patients. He didnt even listen to what I needed or look up to acknowledge me. Extremely rude & disrespectful. I waited a few minutes & walked back up to the front desk. Again, he tries to dismiss me then says have a seat, 30 min. I had to wait 30 min just to grab a kit?? I left fuming. My husband was waiting downstairs & when I explained what happened, he took my doctor's order & went back up. He walked right up to the desk & sure enough, the guy directs him to sign in. My husband firmly yet politely told him, "my wife already signed in." The guy responded, "yes I told her she had to wait." My husband looked at him & said, "I'm going to need you to look at me when you talk to me. And I'm not waiting 30 min for a kit. Here's the order, I'm not coming back. I need the kit now, thank you. VOILA!!! The guy reached down under his desk & produced a specimen kit!!! How long did that take, 30 seconds???? Lab Corp, I understand it can get hectic. Please advise your staff to be kind, respectful & simply LISTEN to people. Some folks in there are sick or worried they may be sick. An act of kindness can make someone's day. **Warning for weekend visitors** I did go on a Saturday so can't speak for what this place is like on weekdays, but today was an absolute nightmare. Lab work isn't supposed to take more than maybe 10 minutes per person, and yet I never saw more than 5 people go in during the 90 minutes I was there. The waiting area was crowded with easily 30 people in the chairs and squished between the counter and the wall. Rude employees at the counter and overall horrible wait times. A woman even came up to the counter TWENTY minutes after they had called her name and demanded they see her. Won't be going back here. read more

Had to bring daughter here for heel stick. Her bilirubin was borderline high before getting discharged from the hospital. During a follow up with Dr. Nobu a couple of days after, my daughter presented with jaundice so a bili recheck was ordered. A few days later, result was back and was extremely low, way below normal. Dr Nobu thought it was botched since my daughter still had jaundice. We agreed not to retest since the yellowing is clearly subsiding but extremely disappointed that they can't be trusted to correctly test something as simple but life threatening if found high and left untreated as bili level on infants. The person who was sitting at the window happened to be the manager, would not help us register and being so rude by lecturing that we did not register right. She was pointing fingers although we asked her to stop. She asked us if we do not want their service. Seems like the workers don't care for the patients and just want to treat them as a number coming through the lab. I came here yesterday for my Glucose Test which is a timed test. The PIR at the desk was so helpful and explained to me that I had to drink a solution in under 5 minuets and that they would draw my blood exactly one hour from that. She handed me a cold drink and after I drank it, I gave it back and she wrote down the time and I waited. Just before an hour the phlebotomist called my name and brought me back into the room ( they make sure that they take you in exactly on the hour ) the phlebotomist was professional and efficient. This location opens up at 8a. I arrived at 8:30a and there were upwards of 10 people waiting to be seen. It went by quickly however, and I was out an hour later. They require a credit/debit card at the time of check-in even with insurance. This is in the event insurance does not pay for something. This was a first for me, usually a bill is sent in such an instance. I just had simple blood-work (CBC, etc) yet the total was $1,100.00 if insurance does not cover it I am screwed. The location was clean, but not state of the art. The front desk rep went through the list quickly. I did not like that they collect all our documents AND credit card then ask that you have a seat. Everyone knows you credit/debit card should never be out of sight. The urine samples are placed in regular disposable cups, where the patient personally writes the name onto it. This is different from the twist cap clear containers with a preprinted label with patient information. The technician who drew my blood was not the most joyous, continued to repeat "ma'am" in an odd tone. She manipulated my arm in various positions before it was time to draw the blood, as opposed to telling me to shift my arm from A to B. Lastly, the tourniquet was placed tightly on my arm before the rep selected her needle, gathered her containers, prepped my arm, and finally collected 3 tubes of blood. As a phlebotomist, I know personally that this goes against standard practice, as the max time a tourniquet should stay on is one minute. All-in-all, it was not a disastrous experience. Super easy experience. I came in after the assistant at the doctor's office couldn't find my veins after trying on both arms. Thank goodness they sent me here. I went straight from my doctor's appointment (no appointment made at LabCorp) and was seen immediately after signing in and giving them payment and insurance info. I told the tech I was a hard stick and she went and got another tech after seeing the bandages on my arms. They got me on the first try. I came here to get my lab work done for a physical. The reviews had me a little nervous but they were quick and extremely nice and accommodating! I came first thing, 8 am and the front desk girl very accommodating, I only had pics of my new insurance card and she allowed me to email it no problem. It took 25 min total. And the nurse who took my blood found the vein first try, when people generally stick me SO many times. Her name was Rhonda- she was very nice and made easy conversation with me as she took the blood samples. As far as the reviews about the number- I asked about it and she said they actually have to wrong number online for them & they're working to get it fixed. This man driving a silver chevy SUV tried to run me off the road with my 10 year old in the vehicle. He was tail gating me & got upset when I hit my brakes. He followed me for a good few miles and then came up next to me & tried to run me off the road. When he failed, he drove off (other vehicles were honking at him as well.) After I told her the rubber band around my arm hurt she readjusted it while grumbling and the result was not any better. Then she poked around for my vein to fill three tubes. After I left Labcorp my arm started hurting, was swollen and I had a 4" bruise. I could not use it for several days and it took two weeks to completely recover. read more

Went here for some routine lab work. Since my Dr.'s office doesn't have a lab, I had to find something close to my house. I wanted to go early in the morning, since I needed to fast before my blood was drawn. I found this location online, I had never been before. 1st plus - you can schedule your appointment online! They don't require an appointment, but it's nice to know that you can make one. I made mine for 9:15am, which was the earliest available that day, but they open at 8am. It's in a nice medical building right off 50 near the Harris Teeter and West Ox Road junction, easy to find. Plenty of parking. I arrived a little early, and the waiting room had about 10 people in it. They were all called up pretty quickly, though. Make sure that you bring your insurance card AND a credit card. Since they are a 3rd party, they will submit your medical claim to your insurance for you, but as a "Plan B" in the event your insurance doesn't cover it, they expect you to pay. They have you sign a paper saying you will pay for it if your insurance doesn't. (Mine was $1300!! Yikes!) If your insurance does cover it, they destroy your credit card info. The technician who drew my blood was very nice. She did an excellent job. I don't like needles and blood so I looked away, but she was very gentle and switched out the vials 4 or 5 times and I didn't feel a thing. I told her that she was in the right profession, she's really good at it! Was seen at 9:18 and I was out the door by 9:23. The only reason I held off a star was that a gentleman in the lobby asked for paper cups for the water dispenser, and they had run out. Worst place to go to get blood drawn. Ester is the RUDEST person I have ever met, Rhonda isn't with the company anymore. All the good ladies are gone. Go downstairs to get your blood drawn in the building. And ask for Bam she's amazing. I watch Netflix on my phone while having my blood drawn because I'm tiny, and have a very hard time with blood being drawn, it is also a 12 hour fasting test so I get dizzy easily. Ester wouldn't allow me to watch on my phone, yet every other time I've been there they have. Ester needs to go, and Labcorp needs to actually care about their reviews and patients. I went to the website to make an appointment and I'm am happy that I did. I wouldn't recommend being a "walk-in" because I'm sure this place is always busy. I made the appointment the night before. I had to enter in all of my info on the site. I went in on a Thursday for an 11:30am appointment. I got there at 11:00am and checked in using the kiosk. All you have to do is put your license (ID) upside down in the holder and the kiosk will scan it and pull up your information (as long as you already registered for an appointment online). If you didn't, then you have to fill out all of your info. There were about 15 people sitting in chairs and 3 people standing. I was checked in pretty quickly by a very nice young woman at the desk. I asked how her day was going and had a nice conversation as she took my blood test mark-up (I was having food allergy testing) and my insurance card. It was very busy there and a child was crying in the back, so, I'm sure everyone was stressed. Sometimes, if you are nice to begin with to the staff, they will be nice to you. I got called back for my 11:30am for my appointment. I went to the first room and the Phlebotomist and I had another nice conversation as she took 2 vials of my blood. I think that the conversation was a good distraction from the needle. The butterfly needle was retractable and she put pressure on it and then some medical tape. I'm definitely happy I made an appointment online first! That is definitely my recommendation. read more

So THIS girl has the WORST time getting blood drawn. It actually drives me crazy that my brain thinks and knows "okay -- I'll be COMPLETELY fine" but a body that that goes off on its own and thinks "PANIC! Black out! Now!" I have a 100% track record of passing out if I'm sitting, and a 70% of being really woozy during a lie down draw - for a period of time after the draw is over (and I'm unable to get up and walk out immediately). I've been twice in the past week, and both times I let the front desk know that I really needed to lie down for my draw. Not a problem they said. Both times I had Maddie as my tech. She is a rockstar and has the patience of a saint. She made sure I was situated, let me ramble on various conversation topics (while I tried not to think about what she was doing), hid the vials and equipment and then picked me up an ice pack for my neck (to help constrict the blood vessels in my neck to prevent passing out). She even waited with me patiently to make sure I was good to walk out safely. She didn't fumble for a vein, and barely left a mark for me to remember it by.
