Getting blood drawn is a nightmare for me since I have some of the worst veins ever as I've been told by many phlebotomists.

I visited the Cooper City location of Gastro Health as a patient of Dr. Adam Lessne. He was…read morerecommended to me by a work colleague and I am very pleased with my experience with him and Gastro Health. Screening for colon cancer is recommended at age 45. If detected early, colon cancer has a 91 percent survival rate. Starting as polyps, colon cancer grows slowly over 10 to 15 years. It often presents with no symptoms in the early stages which is why screening is so critical for early detection. Getting a colonoscopy is something I have been putting off for years. If I knew how easy and painless it actually is, I would have done it much sooner. I was able to see Dr, Lessne for a consultation where he went over my medical history and decided if I was a candidate for the surgery center next door which is South Broward Endoscopy or if I needed to go to the hospital. Fortunately I was given the go ahead for the surgery center which is much more convenient and cheaper, He prescribed me the prep and about a month later I went for the procedure at South Broward Endoscopy. The night before the procedure I took the prep starting at 6 PM and the second half at midnight. I didn't get any sleep but I could have worked the day I started prep. I arrived early in the morning, checked in, and waited a short while before being taken back. Everything was explained to me by the nursing staff in a caring way and I was visited by the anesthesiologist who told me they would be using propanol which I was happy about. The IV was started and I was wheeled back to the procedure room. The last thing I remember was feeling a little fuzzy and then I was waking up less than 30 minutes later. I had no pain and I remember nothing of the procedure. I actually felt great. Dr. Lessne stopped by to tell me everything went as well as it could possibly go, I didn't have any polyps, and see you in 10 years. I got dressed, they gave me crackers and juice, and I was on my way. Even though I felt fine I still had to have someone drive me to and from the procedure. I am so glad that I had my colonoscopy performed by Dr. Lessne. I felt like I was in skilled and caring hands from start to finish. I know some people choose to use Cologuard but the high error rate was not for me. As many as one in ten tests will not detect polyps or cancer. Of other concern was the fact that my insurance only covers a preventive colonoscopy. If I needed to have one for diagnostic purposes I would have had to pay a portion of it. With the colonoscopy scheduled as preventive I could have any cancer causing polyps removed for free. I feel really fortunate that my colon was completely healthy. Dr. Lessne's office and South Broward Endoscopy were great about communicating with me leading up to the procedure and checking in with me after. The few hours out of my life and one night with no sleep was easily worth the peace of mind I now have. I highly recommend Dr. Lessne and the caring staff of South Broward Endoscopy. Thank you for the positive experience.

The coordinator only called me the day before the procedure, telling me I needed the clearance--completely last minute. I immediately went to the office to get the form myself since my cardiologist's fax machine wasn't working, and within two hours I had the clearance ready. Despite all the effort I put in, I was told my procedure was still canceled. There was no apology, only attitude, which made the experience even worse. This was a total lack of communication, professionalism, and consideration for the patient's time and effort. Completely unacceptable!

Exceptional Care and Compassion from Ms. Augustina!…read more My husband has a severe phobia of needles and medical facilities, so just getting him through the door is a massive hurdle. We had an appointment at noon, but due to a system glitch, our mobile check-in didn't register inside. When I went up to inquire, I met Ms. Augustina, and she was an absolute angel. Not only was she friendly and accommodating about the system error, but she was incredibly understanding when I explained my husband's anxiety. To make matters worse, I realized we had left the doctor's lab order at home. Instead of turning us away, Ms. Augustina kindly told me to hurry home, grab the documents, and come right back. When I returned, her patient and soothing demeanor completely put my husband at ease. She went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable, and because of her gentle approach, she was able to successfully draw his blood. We are quick to leave negative reviews when things go wrong, but incredible service like this deserves to be recognized. I am immensely grateful to Ms. Augustina for turning a highly stressful situation into a smooth, positive experience. This location is lucky to have her!

You can schedule an appt ahead of time online or do a walk in. I scheduled my appointment online. Once inside you check in at the kiosk. I was waiting less than 10 minutes when I was called in. Carroll was great! I always bruise and I didn't with her! She found my veins easily. Not everyone has the talent to find veins, insert the needle in the correct place and be able to draw blood fluently, but the whole process was painless with her. I was in and out in no time!

I walked up to the reception desk. Two ladies were working. One was on a personal call and ignored me after seeing me. The other one after noticing it assisted me. She was professional and attentive. My wait time was not very long. I was then asked to move to another waiting room. This second waiting room had a door. This door was heavy and when you have back pain, painful. It was hard to open. It took my two hands to keep it from closing on me. My wait time in the second room was brief. I was taken to get the X-rays. The technician was very nice and professional. I had some difficulties getting on and off the hard X-ray table. I completely understand that is not the technician's job due to liabilities to interfere unless trained but I struggled. I was awkward, like a turtle in pain on its back. I wish they had rails or something on that table to make things easy for patients to get on and off. The customer service was good. I did not have to wait long. Sometimes is the little things we take for granted that make a difference.

To be very frank, bare minimum professionalism as well. I do think there needs to be some type of training and structural revamp here throughout every role. I will not be returning to this location and possibly going to another type of diagnostics center.
