    Catch of the day
    Christopher F.

Came here on the recommendation of our B&B proprietors. It did not disappoint. The vibe is rustic with both indoor and outdoor seating. The waiter was fantastic. He made excellent recommendations. First was the complentery bread which was fresh and went nicely with the house salsas. The salsas were superb. Next came the sashimi which was served with apples. Made for a complex, interesting dish. Tuna was fresh. For entree, I had the catch of the day which was yellowtail. This was served with a small salad and risotto. A very hearty meal. For a finish, fried plantains and ice cream were great. Very good dessert. We also had the chocolate cake which was so-so. A fine meal indeed.

This was a truly amazing meal during our trip to Valle de Guadalupe. Somewhat of a hole in the wall, but so lovely - the service was great, the fire was roaring (so cozy!), and the food was truly superb (and inexpensive!). Portions were ginormous so we accidentally really over-ordered. However, everything was so amazing we couldn't stop eating. The appetizers were lovely - I highly recommend the wonderful ceviche and the tostadas (rabbit, fuck, and tripe). Our entrees were also exceptional; our favorites were the sublime lamb ribs and the pork shank in mole!! Yum!

Stopped by after going to the wineries nearby. Absolute quality Mexi-Cali cuisine Very attractive rustic aesthetic with a friendly environment - the entrees are presented/decorated beautifully- highly recommend the smoked octopus and tripe with the white wine sangria - definitely a place to stop by more than once

What a hidden gem this place Wife and I enjoyed dinner st this restaurant yesterday and what an amazing experience. This restaurant has s very old rustic look from the outside not very impressive but once you walk inside the experience is unreal. Our server, which I am bad with names, was so attentive and helpful. He provided a complete list of foods in detail and suggested a wine to pair with it. We ordered their special that night a three course meal. First, the appetizer wife enjoyed a cream of carrots with local crema, amazing flavor. I enjoyed the ceviche de callo, scallops, with this raspberry and guava dressing. The server brought out chips made from their house bread for the ceviche. What amazing flavors. I can't even explain how amazing this ceviche is. For the main course/Plato fuerte. Wife enjoyed roasted perdiz/partridge accompanied by local veggies. I enjoyed the smoked lamb on a bed of mashed potatoes with local veggies and mole sauce. Wow the flavors on everything was just perfect. For dessert we both ordered the guava tart. Amazing flavor from their local guavas. What an amazing experience. What flavors with the local foods and what a mix. Thank you to Ann at Vinophiliac for recommendation and reservations.

We have visited the valley many times and this little gem is one of the best restaurants We've ever visited. Having hit the usual high end tourist spots etc... we we're looking for something off the beaten path. No view as it's tucked into a small town at the south end of Guadalupe. My girlfriend and I walked into the restaurant after a recommendation by a local bed and breakfast host. We wanted to try a local "under the tourist radar" spot that served local fare like rabbit and quail. The food was outstanding and you could tell the owner (Frederico) was passionate and knowledgeable about the ingredients and execution. The shredded rabbit tostada is amazing along with the oysters. Pic attached. He's very generous with the wine pours and his prices are very reasonable. We can't wait to go back. Also, we loved his Olive oil and bread. Frederico gave us the name of his olive oil supplier and we were able to go buy a gallon the next day for $20 dollars! The location is a little out of the way from the heart of the wine country but well within range and worth a visit. Food - 5 stars (Oysters and Rabbit) Service - 5 stars (owner will visit your table) Ambiance - 4.5 stars (no view) Price to Value - 5 stars ($52 for 2 entrees, 2 glasses of wine, and 2 appetizers) Bottom line: enjoy the sunset from your hotel or winery then visit Federico for an amazing meal with personal service at a great price.

Absolutely incredible find!! My family and I happened to discover this beautiful, rustic restaurant on our way to the wineries (thank you fellow Yelpers) So happy we found this place! The food as you can see is uniquely presented with exquisite tastes. I ordered the tuna ceviche- mixed with mangos and cucumbers and it was delicious!!!! I would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area!! It's worth a visit!!

Best food I've had in all of Baja!! Highly recommend anyone who's looking for super amazing food. The cauliflower salad is really good as well as their grilled octopus. The desert was the greatest desert I've ever had so much flavor in each dish and ever bite. The presentation is beautiful. There isn't one thing here I wouldn't eat because everything is good! 5 stars all the way! Give them the business cause they deserve it. Super friendly and wonderful service!

6 STARS IF I COULD! Extremely artistic and aesthetic presentation. Appetizer 1 was a homemade Mexican home smoked sausage. Perfectly spiced with a natural smoke flavor. Appetizer 2 was seared ribeye with a medley of sauces that I think came from heaven. Salad was a seasonal plate, with grilled fruits and fresh greens sprinkled with glazed nuts, tossed in a light vinaigrette. Main dish was a smoked Octopus and smoked Tripe platter, served with fresh salsa and guacamole. The smoked Tripe was the most incredible tripe I have ever tasted. The smoked Octopus could win awards anywhere. I love octopus to start with, but the Smokey flavor gave it an extremely special taste. Dessert was a composed plate of lavender infused Flan ,date jam with nut brittle, sweetened yellow radish paste that made me smile, tangerine marmalade and tangerine homemade ice cream. Probably one of the 10 best for my entire lifetime. Do yourself a favor and try this place!

Loved my experience here super friendly and the food was very good I would highly recommend the cauliflower salad I didn't take picture because it was so yummy ! The service is very well it's super fast but you can tell they take there time with how they present there food ! Definitely will be coming back thank you !

This is a "must go to" restaurant. The ambiance is relaxed and elegant. The food is magical; the presentation is artistic and the complexity of flavors is extraordinary. The selection of wines highlight the premier choices from the Valle de Guadelupe and pair perfectly with the food selections. The staff, particularly César, are attentive, knowledgeable, professional and charming. The experience is as if you were dining in their home and they are serving the best just for you. My fiancée and I loved it, returned for a second evening and can't wait to return again and again!

Quaint and cute, pleasantly surprised. Two fish choices were amazing. I had the octopus and tripas. At first taste I found the octopus a bit overcooked. Well, once I put everything together into a taco, it was a perfect marriage with the crispy tripas and the guacamole. The waiters wine selection was also on point. The cheese and meats appetizer was heavenly, as the bread. I knocked one star because they didn't ask us if we wanted dessert and they never refilled our water.

This is a great local find. From service to Frederico's Caliterranean-style food was wonderful from start to finish. Just one more reason to head back to Guadalupe Valley!

For groups larger than 7, they require a prix fixe menu (5 or 7 courses) with the option to add a wine pairing. We went with the 5 course + wine pairing, which included a welcome drink (gin + cucumber based and very refreshing). The pairing was supposed to include four wines, but we only ended up getting one red and one white with refills which was a bit of a bummer. That said, the red ended up being one of my favorites from the entire trip, so partial win there. Food: absolutely delicious. Everything came out family style, beautifully plated, and perfect for sharing with a big group. No complaints on flavor or execution! 4 stars (and not 5): a few frustrating misses for a high end spot. First... they were out of tequila. In Valle. At this restaurant. What? Lol. Second, we were required to select our main entree in advance (choices were rock fish or suckling pig), only to get a call about an hour before our reservation saying neither would be available. The replacements were a fish (I think salmon?) and pork belly. Don't get me wrong both were good but last min menu changes like that shouldn't really happen at this level. All that said, still a great experience overall. I would come back with a smaller group so I can actually order my own meal and avoid the prix fixe surprises.

Here it goes! I've been coming to this restaurant for years, easily idk more than 6 or 7 y tengo que decir que señor Toni es un chingón and knows how to assemble a masterful beastly team in the kitchen. Regarding the owner and head chef, he's a cool dude and I very much enjoy shooting the shit with him every time I visit. Essentially, the food is always good, no one can deny that. Whether it's the long standing regular menu with the classics or the seasonal specials. I truly love how it's clearly an Italian restaurant that proudly incorporates local flavors & ingredients as well as slightly fuses other types of cuisines. You can definitely taste the Mexican influence in some of the dishes like in the spaghetti con pesto di Serrano e jalapeño. I absolutely love that dish, The flavors just pop and play together so eloquently. MARCA DIABLO as mi abuelito chichi would say. Italian hand emoji unlocked with essentially every dish I've had there. The rib eye I orders on my most recent visit around early November was a true highlight, best execution of any Da Toni visit and one of the best steaks I've had in Baja. Highly recommend this place. Sea urchin tends to be on some Ensenada menus and I'm delightfully speculating that it's fresh from the region. Most diners have enjoyed sea urchin in sushi restaurants, but I've got to tell you, this preparation will expand your palate. If sea urchin isn't for you, there are other wonderful pasta plates, such as pasta with truffles, or main courses such as ribeye, branzino fish, a porterhouse and more. The bartender fixed it with more lime juice and rum and was able to drink after it had been watered down with ice. My friend's Margarita while decent, came without salt, so that too had to be sent back. The pizzas come in two sizes, individual and family. I assumed I was getting an individual as two people were having dinner and ordered different entrees. But no, I am presented with a huge family size pizza. It has been remodeled and it's beautiful and they are accommodating here but the timing of the food and a few more things need some work. The prices have gone up quite a bit but I got a steak it was their ribeye about 15 oz with please french fries mixed with vegetables and extra vegetables on the side. When I got the plate I took a taste at the steak and the seasoning was delicious but it was very lukewarm and I like my food hot. I sent it back just the steak for her to put it on the grill for a little longer and when it got back it was not as tender and it didn't have that same delicious taste and it was only grilled for a minute more which makes me think they probably put it under a broiler because the grilling didn't do anything for it it was slightly warmer but now I'm eating a so-so steak at quite a price. The servers are very nice. There's only me and one other table in here so I don't know why it took so long to get my food they might still be training or something I don't know. The coffee is they're organic Mexican coffee but it seems like it's different from what I remember it used to be darker roast and a little stronger this one seems kind of weak and you can get plain milk or powdered stuff for it and I prefer half and half or heavy cream. I had sparkling water which here is called minerale. Is decorated for Christmas right now so it's very pretty the updated look is nice. The televisions in here reflect the things going on at the restaurant and at the whole park they show the features of the park and the different drinks they make here and such. One Saving Grace is that they let my little service dog come in he helps me with detecting a possible PTSD episode and they didn't give me too much problem even though dogs are not really allowed. Some places in Mexico just welcomed dogs in others don't want them and some restaurants down here don't know about dogs that are therapy or service dogs. So I appreciated that. Though this is not a high rating I still think it's worth checking out because this could be one of those one-time things it is a lovely atmosphere. The kitchen might need a little work the server was accommodating and I appreciate that my family has come here before me and enjoyed it so what I experienced with the kitchen might be an anomaly. I recommend that you at least try it out and maybe if you have particular things you want say it ahead of time like you want to make sure that the meat is warm or hot not served lukewarm that kind of thing. If they have Specific Instructions beforehand they will probably be good if there is any doubt about how things will come out I'm sure people who come here really enjoy it. Again the new name is Serengeti and it is located at the entertainment and animal park called Pai Pai.
