I love Queens Market! I got my first cellphone from here. That's right. My parents would not buy me a phone. I got a job and went to queens to buy a boost mobile phone. I bought it from Nick ! Who's no longer there but his brother G is such a nice guy. And of course, Alfonso! They know our whole family and we're so supportive when my step mom passed away. I realize the first part of this review has nothing to do with the store. But the customer service is so outstanding. As far as selection ! Wow ! They have so many craft beers! The clerk working at night is rude, uses fowl language and insults his customers, and has a power trip. The clerk was upset. I brought in my service dog and cursed at me, and then decided not to sell me the items I wanted to buy. Then he had the opacity to escort me out. This store clerk does not care about customers and doesn't treat them kindly. This is how you lose business. Don't waste your time buying from this convenience store. Also, their items are way overpriced as well. There are plenty of other stores nearby to shop at who actually care about their customers. read more

I've been going to this market for five years. I have always brought my service animal with me. 16 year old corgi never an issue. I until one day. The kid started freaking out about my dog and told me to put them outside. I understand if you want to keep animals out of your business. The attitude was so rude. I can't believe it considering there's a market equally as far from my house. I will never go back to Queens market. I never save this type of stuff but the people who run that store are flat out horrible people. read more

I've lived across the street for about 5 years now. I pretty much go there everyday for beer or food or candy. Whatever. I've given these dudes my patronage over every other close by convenience markets because of how nice it is seeing the same folks. Saying hi. Maybe a quick visit or a joke or two. I'm not typically the naive type to think that we're best buds or anything, but a little respect shouldn't be much to ask for. Dude is like a teenage girl on his phone all night with someone. ALL night. Never stops. And now closing up shop earlier and earlier than what their posted hours are. Some people rely on the accuracy of posted hours. And stores to get medicines or other supplies. Turned away 10 minutes before they're supposed to close. Acting like the customers that showed up the same time as I were a holes for trying to get into a place that's typically honored posted hours. Don't even get me started on the lanky goofball that works one day a week. Dude has the personality of a door knob. The guy who is the owner ( I'm assuming) and is always there during the day, he's cool af. Tells folks how it is and is great to every day patrons. Get rid of these children working there at night. They hate their jobs and most likely the people more. Save the at home relations and hot gossip for at home. P.S. I've let it slide a few times because I liked the guys. But YES, I've been overcharged quite a few times by the night time clerks. Especially the one that's only there one night a week. Seems like he makes up the price on the spot. read more

I have lived next to Queens for two years and go every single day. Sometimes even twice. The workers are extremely kind, and attentive to their regulars. Once they even made Queens market t shirts and they sold out almost immediately I will miss this place greatly when I move. read more

The only word I can really use to describe this market is "convenience." The guy who owns this place will overcharge you if your are not a local on top of already overcharging. Plenty of liquor stores around here that won't do that. Can't even buy lottery tickets cause he's too cheap to fix the machine. So I just went to this market for the first time to grab something quickly on my morning walk. There are signs on the store that day "only service dogs". My dog is a service dog, so we walk in. The person working tells me she is not allowed to which I respond she is a service dog. He told me I need paperwork next time, I said fine. He also proceeded to tell me "how am I to know" and that my dog should be wearing a harness that says she is service. I told him that actually the law does not require she wear any type of identification. He told me he "knows the law" and was quite rude. In an attempt to educate about said law he clearly does not know, I repeated myself that it's not the case. I left and then went back inside with my documentation that specifically states my animal is a service animal. He asked again how he is supposed to know she is service and I said because I'm showing him the paperwork right now (which frankly, he is supposed to just take my word for it). He told me I'm banned... stellar service along with discrimination here at Queens Market. read more

I have never left a review for a market or grocery store (or really anywhere ) before in my life. But I would give Queens a NEGATIVE -10 star review if I could. Born and raised in Venice and having gone to Queens market since it opened and since the days of Sunny and Alfonso who were the most amazing guys ever. The new guy's that they have working there are the most awful, sexist, rude and unfriendly people I've ever encountered in Venice in my life. If you want a local liquor store I definitely recommend Night and Day market on the corner of Venice and Lincoln. These guys have been there before Queens market, they are open until two and are the coolest people ever. The prices and customer service are reasonable and they cater to locals. They're always friendly and happy to have your business. The new guys at Queens are horrible and I will never spend a dime there again. read more

These people steal. One of the clerks overcharges on each order. Ive been there a couple dozen times and just found out that I have been overcharged by 20%+ on 6 different occasions. Great store and service! One day I was cooking lasagna, which was a horribly challenging recipe then realized I didn't have cheese! I called them to make sure they had it, went on down to pick it up and told the guy working what an idiot I was for forgetting. ( I wish I knew his name, he's there all the time, might be the owner) He actually said that he would've brought the cheese to me and I should let him know in the future if I'm in a bind. This spot is so quintessentially Venice. The best convenience store Beer & Wine list on the West Side, these guys really pick some rare and good stuff. If you like craft beer or need to load up for a BBQ/house party gift, they have it all. Decent chance or surfer, homeless guy, and wanna-be movie producer all in line together. Nice little liquor store on Venice near Walgrove...kind of kitty corner from Venice High. Discovered this during the supermarket strike, and was surprised to find that, unlike most little neighborhood liquor stores, the prices aren't bad at all! And it's got a pretty decent selection of beer, a surprisingly good selection of wine, and it even has a humidor for them that smokes. Not necessarily a place you'd go out of your way to find, but if you just happen to be in the neighborhood, and you feel like picking up a quart of Arrogant Bastard Ale (motto: "You're Not Worthy!"), this is one of the few places in L.A. that stocks it. A great little market. They have some beers that you cant find for miles around. I like to get the "Golden Monkey" and get my girl smashed.

Great prices and a wonderful wine selection. It is cheaper than Ralphs and they call you by name.

I've been going to Queen's market for over 40 years. I won't be going back again. The guy behind the counter was very rude and I told him so. He told me "I don't need your business!" It was an ugly scene and, frankly... I don't have time for that. It's sad to see my neighborhood convenience store go down the drain with unhelpful and disrespectful employees. I stop by here pretty often to grab beer when I run out late at night. They have a pretty good selection so you don't have to make the miller or bust decision. Moved from beach to east up the street- and have found this GEM of a market across the way! I had gone to munis (corner of pacific/venice) for over 4 years and I have got to say-guys n dolls if you got a few minutes to make that hike up venice past lincoln (I know I know ;) so tough) do it! I have got to say I think they have the coldest beer in town with a great selection to choose from... Not to mention there vast amounts of different wines to choose from- it is definitely worth the walk/drive/ride with your DD of course. And of course the crew they have-warm and welcoming and they take the time to help you if needed- so all in all I'm a happy camper and I've found my new late night BEER king! No offense to the queen-never never say anything bad about THE QUEEN! Anyways totally worth it!
