Even my New York guests say it's better than their local shops! Great chew and nice crisp exterior. Lots of varieties and they are generous with their toppings. Great whipped lite cream cheese, plain and several flavors like scallions and whitefish. Also full case of egg salad, tuna fish and of course smoked salmon. They have a couple of sweet choices too, but I've never tried those. You can eat on their patio if you can't wait until you get home, and they will toast to your preference. I always get a dozen (one free with every dozen you pay for)! Go early because they run out of nearly everything by late afternoon (they close at 3pm).

I honestly challenge anyone to find a better pizza, not just in the neighborhood, but anywhere in Los Angeles. Yes, it's made on a bagel base, but don't let that throw you off. It tastes like the most incredible sourdough-Neapolitan hybrid you've ever had: super crispy, airy, with a nice sturdy body and incredible flavor. The ingredients are top-notch, just like everything else they sell. And the fact that this big, delicious pizza is only $10? Unreal. It's an absolute MUST-TRY. Seriously, go get one.

It somehow tasted like if a French dip and a bowl of pho had a baby, which sounds insane, but it was so so good. The Wagyu was ridiculously flavorful, and with the onions and jalapeños, every bite had that perfect mix of richness & freshness. I have to say, it was a little messy to eat, but I inhaled it in like five minutes. It comes with a pho broth on the side and that's what really sent me over the edge. Dipping the banh mi into that broth was so rich and flavorful...seriously one of the most unique and delicious things I've eaten in a while!

I got a combo with two chicken tenders, white rice, and garlic green beans. I was so disappointed with how salty the chicken was. Tried to offset the salt with the sauces we got which were spicy mayo and Chinese bbq, those ended up being super salty too! I ended up basically destroying my chicken just to get salty breading part off. Without the breading the chicken was honestly pretty good. It's just way too salty with it on in my opinion. I did love the mini mart side to this place. They have all kinds of snacks, alcohol, and non alcoholic beverages to choose from. I ended up getting an apple soda drink from Taiwan and it was so good! Might be back to check out the other food they offer but after this experience I'm honestly kinda scared that I'll end up with more super salty things.

Parking here is free and easy in a private lot, which is a rare win in this area and makes stopping by way less stressful. The food is solid and consistently yummy, with generous portions that actually leave you full. The sandwiches and salads are fresh, flavorful, and are high quality California comfort food. There are tons of vegetarian options as well as easy to customize sandwiches and other deli style offerings. The sides are so good too, and my favorite is the curried cous cous! I always upsize to a larger side and take the leftovers back to my hotel. I ordered a veggie sandwich with cous cous. My sandwich was stuffed with ingredients and was absolutely delicious. I ended up taking half of my meal back to the hotel to enjoy later (the leftovers were just as good, too)! The sandwiches travel especially well, making Mendocino Farms a terrific choice for a picnic on the beach. Where things got a little strange at this location was the service. The employees were polite but noticeably awkward, and interactions felt a bit "off" and disorganized. They weren't rude, just very weird. They also straight up stared to see if you would leave a tip, and then if you did they'd ring a loud cowbell. This made me feel really uncomfortable, and it felt extremely passive-aggressive. It was a quiet Sunday morning, but the restaurant was busy. Seating here is extremely limited (there are only a few tables and spots to sit), and a good half of the restaurant was taken up by catering bags and to-go orders placed on chairs and tables. It made the space feel cluttered and not very welcoming if you were hoping to sit and eat. Really wish they'd put the catering orders somewhere else instead of taking up valuable real estate for paying customers who want to dine in! Overall, this location of Mendocino Farms seems great for takeout thanks to the food and parking, but not ideal for dining in. If you're grabbing a meal to go, it's a good choice. Just don't count on a comfortable sit-down experience.

Just a heads up, they only accept card payments. Card payments includes Apple Pay as well as Google pay, in case you were wondering. I was impressed by the large dining area the natural light that comes through and how clean everything was. The menu is tough for me to read because I am a little bit more visually impaired these days. But they are located on three large TV screens above the register and ordering area. There are printed menus available as well. Most of their sandwiches look like they are anywhere from about $15-$18 each. They have quite a variety. I really love and appreciate that the person who took my order not only was very familiar with their sandwiches and could make some really good recommendations, but they were very mindful in letting me know if I were ordering a sandwich that were cold versus hot. Sometimes I've had the experience where I order a sandwich and I get it and it's cold. I didn't anticipate that. So, there was one sandwich that I thought I was going to order from here and the employee who is taking my order let me know that that was a good selection, but that it was a cold sandwich and not a hot one. Thank goodness. A dodge bullet on that one. I also really appreciate the fact that the employee let me know that with certain sandwiches, if the bread type was not one that I cared for that I might be able to substitute it without any problem. I ordered food for my kiddo, and I mentioned that she has a little bit more bit more difficult time with breads that are crispy or hard or tough, like a French roll. So she made it very clear to me as to which bread varieties they have that might be good for her situation. I also really like the fact that the employee knew what was in the different spreads that they use on their sandwiches. That was very helpful. I also mentioned to the employee that I am allergic to olives and cucumbers. And so, if there were any items that we were ordering that were inclusive of cucumbers and olives, she would put cucumbers on the side, but olives were not a worry because they don't use them in house at all. I was honestly just really impressed with your service and the knowledge of their staff. She said that a lot of their repeat business comes from their in-house spreads that they use on their sandwiches. I believe it. My family and I we ordered about five different sandwiches. Each sandwich comes with a side salad unless of course you go ahead and decide to order an upgraded side. Some of the examples of upgraded sides include things like french fries or a goat cheese and tomato soup. Another option was a turkey chili or a side of coleslaw or a kale pasta salad. Those are all pretty good seeming sides. Personally, I ordered pretty blindly. I didn't really look at the cost of each of the sandwiches that I ordered nor did I ask about the cost for the upgraded sides. But all in all, five sandwiches and upgraded size for each of them was a total of $100. I figured, 20 bucks per person really isn't bad these days.
