I hate to leave negative reviews, but I felt like I needed to say something. I come here occasionally on my work break and I never had an actual problem until today. I bought a bottle of soda and when I opened it, it was flat. I opened it right after walking out, and came right back in within 1 minute of buying it and asked to exchange it. The clerk said he couldn't exchange it because it was open, buuuuut the only way to know something is wrong with it is when it's open...right? He seemed like he didn't care and I felt like he just wrote me off. As far as his usual service, it's just very flat and cold and unfriendly. Come here only if you want to be insulted. My most recent experience: The clerk (who I believe is the owner) tells me there's a $5 credit card minimum on my purchase of $4.35. Thinking I didn't have cash on me, I said "Well that's a bummer" and walk out the front door. I notice he roughly grabbed my item and threw it to the side. Upon walking out, I realized I had $10 cash so I walk back to the counter. He said to me, "Well what a surprise" very condescendingly. I responded, "There's no reason to be rude; I didn't realize I had any cash on me," to which he retorts, "Well just a minute ago, you said you didn't have any cash and now you do. Who would have thought??" "I thought you weren't allowed to have a minimum on credit card transactions," I responded. "You can have a minimum of $10. You think I don't know that??" The conversation only went downhill from here until he was nearly yelling at me as I walked out of the store. This store has a decent selection and is conveniently located, but from now on, I'll go out of my way to avoid this place. Even if you're having a bad day, there's no reason to treat a customer the way he treated me. I've honestly never been talked to that way in my entire life. read more

Absolutely terrible service, and overpriced. The only place I know in the are with a decent beer selection though. They have some Alagash and White Rascal. I only come here when Im staying in the area. The Ralphs down the street has a much better selection at much better prices. read more

Don't go here. There are plenty of better liquor stores nearby with nicer staff members and fairly priced products. In all fairness, the store itself is fine. However, I have never had a pleasant experience with the cashier. All of the other yelp posts about him are accurate. For example, last night I went in to buy some snacks. There was a loud ringing that I was curious about. So I asked about it, at which point I was condescendingly asked if I thought a bomb was going to go off? He continued to freak out while aggressively swiping items from my basket and said "better get the fuck out before it goes off!" So I did. Immediately. Updating my review to go with the new store. They shut down and gutted this place a while back, updating it to modern times. In the process, lots of the prices went up, but then I'm sure the rent did too. It's a reasonable trade-off because they now carry some specialty items that they never did before. And...they keep Dom on hand now. Enough said. The guys running the store are really nice. Thing is: you have to be nice to them. read more

There are not many options near by but I won't go there until the staff has changed or I hear they have improved there customer service skills. I would give it zero stars if I could. this guy has been an assh0le for half a decade at least. I'm gonna have a party when this place finally closes. overpriced and rude. once he kept my $14 change claiming i gave him a 5 not a 20. and I had to demand it back while he stood there ignoring me. he had a big dude in the back of the shop that triedo bully me. instead I got my phone and started calling the police! yesterday I go in there (I try to avoid it) for a kombucha. it was very expired and I had to fight for my money back again. he says it's the consumer's responsibility to check the date! I said it's unpasteurized and you can kill people. someone needs to shut this place down. I don't know who they pay off at the city, but there's no way they should pass any inspections. read more

Do not buy Puff Bars here. They consistently sell fake ones that do not work. After I bought my first fake one here, one minute after I had bought it, I went back in to tell them that it wasn't working and they got annoyed with me and said they couldn't do anything about it. I was annoyed but I moved on, the next time I asked to try it before I purchased and once again they got annoyed and refused. I purchased anyways and after going home and registering the serial number with Puff Bar's real website, I found out it was another counterfeit. read more

This owner was a huge asshole. My friend came in to buy wine and asked if he had a gift bag and the owner said yes then proceeded to bag it up using a regular bag. Not sure why everyone is hating on this place. I've been coming here for years and never had any issue with the staff. Selection is adequate and the prices for booze are what you'd expect from the only liquor store on Abbot Kinney. It's called a "convenience store", not a "friendliest and best prices in town store". Yup- they're assholes. But the really incredible thing about this local shop, aside from the fact that they have survived the gentrification of this neighborhood with a ONE STAR rating on Yelp.... Is that they are CONSISTENT. If you need Tylenol, they are out. They never smile. Even the sign on the door that lets you know what hours they're open is somehow an insult. But this store is the only one in the game- they're like the Mafia, and they know it. So good luck trying to defer business with your crappy reviews- these Koreans know what you need (booze, soft drinks, and cigs) and they know you can't get them anywhere else within walking distance. Somehow through the years, my acceptance of their unwavering lack of customer service has given me comfort. This is the worst store I have been to in years. i went to go buy something and the jerk at the register was yapping on the phone on a personal call and wouldn't get off even though I asked him multiple times. he mistook my order multiple times and still wouldn't get off. Then he had the nerve to tell me his dad just died and that was why he was on the phone, yet he was laughing the whole time. Guess what MY MOM JUST DIED. This place is the worst. I went in this morning and purchased a pack of cigarettes and some snacks. I left and realized i forgot to pick up the cigarettes off the counter. Went back in and asked the gentlemen behind the counter if i had left them there- knowing i had. He started yelling at me, telling me i was a liar and getting aggressive with me. I tried to reason with him but that was impossible. This guy is a shitty-shitty-shitty business owner. If he doesnt realize your community is what keeps you up- he soon will. I've never had worse service in my entire life. The Asian guy working business hours during the week is rude and acts like he doesn't want to be there. I normally give people a pass, because everyone has bad days, but I've been in this spot several times and every time this same guy has been horrible. This last incident was enough for me. I asked him one question and answered me in a yelling tone saying "what". After I said "wow, broh" he began mocking me repeating "wow broh" in the same tone as I said it, as to antagonize me. I've witnessed him be rude to other customers as well. I have never experienced a more scarier freak of a clerk/cashier in my life. I went in and purchased a pack of cigarettes and asked the man behind the cash register for a book of matches. He looked at me and said "do you want a bag with that", In which I replied no thank you. Strange question, but I proceeded to grab my cigarettes and he asked me again "if I wanted a bag with that" in a heightened aggressive tone, In which I replied"no, thank you. He then grabbed a baseball bat from behind the counter and started screaming some pretty homophobic bull. I was wearing reading glasses which probably gave me away. but everything else I was wearing was pretty standard Friday night attire. Daddy should fire his son or at the least teach him some manners.
