I stopped in with my two children to grab a quick snack while we were shopping and purchased a MrBeast Feastables chocolate bar and a small bag of Fritos. To my surprise, the total came to nearly $9. When I asked about the price, the clerk explained that the chocolate bar alone was $5. After checking prices elsewhere, I found the same chocolate bar selling for under $2 at other retailers. Marking up products that dramatically feels less like convenience pricing and more like taking advantage of customers. Businesses are free to set their own prices, but consumers are free to decide where to spend their money. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression, and I won't be returning. It's disappointing to see a business charge such excessive prices and seem perfectly comfortable doing so. read more

!!!SCAMMER ALERT!!! I have been charged multiple times now for something I purchased four days ago!!!! Place is an overpriced joke

Scammers!!! Overcharged me still trying to get it back a month later. Bring cash and know your prices

This. is. a. LIQUOR STORE. Not a pop up. Be happy this place still exists on Abbott Kinney. Get over yourselves. These reviews are nuts. read more

Such good staff behind the counter. We recently moved in the neighborhood and this is my goto spot for alcohol and just quick groceries. They are always ready to help customers without miss. Everything is always stocked up, fresh well organized and worth the price. Ambiance is good too! read more

Stay away! Very aggressive man working the counter. Went in to buy some drinks and something set him off about my friends and I that he started questioning us and telling us to pay and get out. I've been in here before because it's the only mini mart in the area but always regret it upon check out. read more

This place is awesome. Placed an order through a delivery service that wouldn't be able to fulfill it for HOURS. Got a personal text from the employee and they made sure it was fulfilled on time by engaging a different service on my behalf. Unprecedented customer service from a liquor store!! HELP KEEP THIS SMALL BUSINESS OPEN! read more

I hate to leave negative reviews, but I felt like I needed to say something. I come here occasionally on my work break and I never had an actual problem until today. I bought a bottle of soda and when I opened it, it was flat. I opened it right after walking out, and came right back in within 1 minute of buying it and asked to exchange it. The clerk said he couldn't exchange it because it was open, buuuuut the only way to know something is wrong with it is when it's open...right? He seemed like he didn't care and I felt like he just wrote me off. As far as his usual service, it's just very flat and cold and unfriendly. He's been the only person I've ever seen working there, so I assume he's the owner. Guess I'm gonna go drink my flat coke! read more

What a rude A-hole. Wanted to use the ATM more than anything in life, then easily changed my mind with first sense of the owner's cocky attitude. read more

Come here only if you want to be insulted. My most recent experience: The clerk (who I believe is the owner) tells me there's a $5 credit card minimum on my purchase of $4.35. Thinking I didn't have cash on me, I said "Well that's a bummer" and walk out the front door. I notice he roughly grabbed my item and threw it to the side. Upon walking out, I realized I had $10 cash so I walk back to the counter. He said to me, "Well what a surprise" very condescendingly. I responded, "There's no reason to be rude; I didn't realize I had any cash on me," to which he retorts, "Well just a minute ago, you said you didn't have any cash and now you do. Who would have thought??" "I thought you weren't allowed to have a minimum on credit card transactions," I responded. "You can have a minimum of $10. You think I don't know that??" The conversation only went downhill from here until he was nearly yelling at me as I walked out of the store. This store has a decent selection and is conveniently located, but from now on, I'll go out of my way to avoid this place. Even if you're having a bad day, there's no reason to treat a customer the way he treated me. I've honestly never been talked to that way in my entire life. read more

There are new owners who are lovely! They have redone the store and are kind and helpful. Ignore the old reviews.

Absolutely terrible service, and overpriced. The only place I know in the are with a decent beer selection though. They have some Alagash and White Rascal. I only come here when Im staying in the area. The Ralphs down the street has a much better selection at much better prices. read more

Don't go here. There are plenty of better liquor stores nearby with nicer staff members and fairly priced products. In all fairness, the store itself is fine. However, I have never had a pleasant experience with the cashier. All of the other yelp posts about him are accurate. For example, last night I went in to buy some snacks. There was a loud ringing that I was curious about. So I asked about it, at which point I was condescendingly asked if I thought a bomb was going to go off? He continued to freak out while aggressively swiping items from my basket and said "better get the fuck out before it goes off!" So I did. Immediately. Steer clear of this place unless you are cool with being insulted for no reason. Will not be going back. read more

Updating my review to go with the new store. They shut down and gutted this place a while back, updating it to modern times. In the process, lots of the prices went up, but then I'm sure the rent did too. It's a reasonable trade-off because they now carry some specialty items that they never did before. And...they keep Dom on hand now. Enough said. The guys running the store are really nice. Thing is: you have to be nice to them. read more

Worse customer service on Abbot Kinney Blvd Overpriced. No friendly. No Hello, bye or thank you in most cases. There are not many options near by but I won't go there until the staff has changed or I hear they have improved there customer service skills. If you don't like your job just find something you like to do. read more

I would give it zero stars if I could. this guy has been an assh0le for half a decade at least. I'm gonna have a party when this place finally closes. overpriced and rude. once he kept my $14 change claiming i gave him a 5 not a 20. and I had to demand it back while he stood there ignoring me. he had a big dude in the back of the shop that triedo bully me. instead I got my phone and started calling the police! yesterday I go in there (I try to avoid it) for a kombucha. it was very expired and I had to fight for my money back again. he says it's the consumer's responsibility to check the date! I said it's unpasteurized and you can kill people. someone needs to shut this place down. I don't know who they pay off at the city, but there's no way they should pass any inspections. read more

Do not buy Puff Bars here. They consistently sell fake ones that do not work. After I bought my first fake one here, one minute after I had bought it, I went back in to tell them that it wasn't working and they got annoyed with me and said they couldn't do anything about it. I was annoyed but I moved on, the next time I asked to try it before I purchased and once again they got annoyed and refused. I purchased anyways and after going home and registering the serial number with Puff Bar's real website, I found out it was another counterfeit. read more

Great place. Unbelievable range of beers wines and alcoholic drinks to meet expectations of all types of customers. Must visit..

This owner was a huge asshole. My friend came in to buy wine and asked if he had a gift bag and the owner said yes then proceeded to bag it up using a regular bag. My friend asked if he could change it to a gift bag and the owner kept insisting he said a regular bag to begin with so we took our business elsewhere. Don't support this guy read more

Yup- they're assholes. But the really incredible thing about this local shop, aside from the fact that they have survived the gentrification of this neighborhood with a ONE STAR rating on Yelp.... Is that they are CONSISTENT. If you need Tylenol, they are out. They never smile. Even the sign on the door that lets you know what hours they're open is somehow an insult. But this store is the only one in the game- they're like the Mafia, and they know it. So good luck trying to defer business with your crappy reviews- these Koreans know what you need (booze, soft drinks, and cigs) and they know you can't get them anywhere else within walking distance. Somehow through the years, my acceptance of their unwavering lack of customer service has given me comfort. In the massive wave of trendy Gjelina hipsters and sorta celebs hitting up Rag and Bone and Hourglass... There will always be the Lucky Stop guys who are relentlessly refusing to kiss anyone's ass. For this, gentlemen... I love you and GIVE YOU ALL THE STARS. read more

Lucky Stop Liquor - the reflection of a man in a shop window - Convenience Stores Near Me - Venice, California

Management is extremely unfriendly. Overpriced. Terrible service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Not sure why everyone is hating on this place. I've been coming here for years and never had any issue with the staff. Selection is adequate and the prices for booze are what you'd expect from the only liquor store on Abbot Kinney. It's called a "convenience store", not a "friendliest and best prices in town store". If you need a hug and a bigger selection, walk over to Whole Foods. read more

Ignore old reviews. I come here all the time for my lunch breaks and am always treated kindly. Huge wine selection & they are more than willing to help you out finding the right wine/beer/etc. Love this place! read more

Take your business elsewhere! Avoid this store like a plague. I don't go out of my way to write bad reviews but every interaction I have ever had at this place has been awful. The gentlemen behind the counter go out of their way to be rude, unhelpful, and berate the customers. Prices and selection are terrible. Please boycott this business. Although I am only a block away I will go several miles to purchase things elsewhere. read more

I lost my mind when this place was renovating. Super convinient store for people in the neighborhood. Remember y'all need it on First Friday to pre game so no compliants on the store being $$$, better than the bars anyways. read more

Stopped by here 20 minutes before closing just to buy one thing and they had already locked the door. The dude at the register totally ignored me even though I knocked. D-I-C-K. Efff this place. They give the friendly vibe of Venice a bad name. Wish I could give negative stars! read more

This is the worst store I have been to in years. i went to go buy something and the jerk at the register was yapping on the phone on a personal call and wouldn't get off even though I asked him multiple times. he mistook my order multiple times and still wouldn't get off. Then he had the nerve to tell me his dad just died and that was why he was on the phone, yet he was laughing the whole time. Guess what MY MOM JUST DIED. I cannot imagine laughing about that. what an insensitive jerk. i've always hated this store. Now I will NEVER buy anything there ever again!!! read more

This place is the worst. I went in this morning and purchased a pack of cigarettes and some snacks. I left and realized i forgot to pick up the cigarettes off the counter. Went back in and asked the gentlemen behind the counter if i had left them there- knowing i had. He started yelling at me, telling me i was a liar and getting aggressive with me. I tried to reason with him but that was impossible. This guy is a shitty-shitty-shitty business owner. If he doesnt realize your community is what keeps you up- he soon will. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS- they are not worthy of your time or money. These guys are a complete fucking joke. I also want to note- I have never felt the need to sign up for YELP before- after this mornings experience I came straight home JUST to write this review. Literally that's how shitty this place is. read more

Worst customer service ever!! Asian guy in the baseball cap is the worst. Can't even ask a question or you'll be attacked verbally. Won't recommend to anyone. Don't waste your time. read more

This is my first review on Yelp; I downloaded the app just to give this place one star. They're rude. They're unpleasant. And it smells bad. Don't give these a-holes your business. read more

I've never had worse service in my entire life. The Asian guy working business hours during the week is rude and acts like he doesn't want to be there. I normally give people a pass, because everyone has bad days, but I've been in this spot several times and every time this same guy has been horrible. This last incident was enough for me. I asked him one question and answered me in a yelling tone saying "what". After I said "wow, broh" he began mocking me repeating "wow broh" in the same tone as I said it, as to antagonize me. I've witnessed him be rude to other customers as well. Needless to say, I WILL NEVER GO BACK in this establishment again and if I had the free time, I would stand out in front of the store and protest. read more

Go here if you want to drink expired beer. 4 times 4 different months and each case of beer was expired. Guy behind the counter said it's not his fault because they have so many products they can't watch to see when to pull expired ones. Why over pay for expired beers. Take your business somewhere else. read more

The main guy that works there is the worst... bad attitude in general. Everything is marked up beyond belief.

I came in today and bought some cookies. The person behind the cashier gave me back my card by just throwing it putting it upside down on the counter and from my perspective was just tossed and I asked why the person did that and he just called me an Asshole because I'm an Asshole he said. Worse experience ever. Had an enjoyable Saturday and I was not ready to be offended. read more

I have never experienced a more scarier freak of a clerk/cashier in my life. I went in and purchased a pack of cigarettes and asked the man behind the cash register for a book of matches. He looked at me and said "do you want a bag with that", In which I replied no thank you. Strange question, but I proceeded to grab my cigarettes and he asked me again "if I wanted a bag with that" in a heightened aggressive tone, In which I replied"no, thank you. He then grabbed a baseball bat from behind the counter and started screaming some pretty homophobic bull. I was wearing reading glasses which probably gave me away. but everything else I was wearing was pretty standard Friday night attire. Daddy should fire his son or at the least teach him some manners.
