NEGATIVE 5 STARS!!! I ordered lamp chops and picked the order up. The young guy kept telling me "5 more minutes and it will be ready." Only for me to get home and see this note. WHO DOES THAT?! I've never seen a restaurant do anything so shady! After I called the restaurant about it they refunded my money. This was my favorite restaurant in Memphis until now. I'll never set foot in your restaurant again and I'm making it my mission to leave this review on EVERY platform. How dare you?!

Hummus, bread and labnah
Dianna S.

Went with friends to try this place. It was nestled behind some other businesses on Summer Avenue. The hummus and bread were delicious. The hummus is very creamy and had a really good taste. The appetizers we ate were very good. It had a variety of items served with naan like bread. My main meal was chicken gallaba. It was too salty for me. It is similar to a chicken tomato based stew. We had some hiccups when ordering our food. One of friend's food was never brought to our table. Our waitress had a hard time understanding English. We had to remind her multiple times to bring water or try to explain what we needed. We waited a long time for our food. Food is made when ordered so that is why it took a little time. Not sure I would return for other dishes. I would go for the hummus and bread again.

Definitely one of the more popular Mediterranean places in Memphis. When we went there, the service was quite lacking. The waiters had to be called multiple times to provide any service. It could just be that the restaurant was understaffed that evening but definitely detracted from the experience. The interior of the restaurant is modest but the food packed a good amount of flavor. The lamb hanneth was fantastic what the meat cooked to perfection. The meat literally fell off the bones!! The chicken ghallaba was seasoned very well and had a unique peppery flavor that I enjoyed quite a bit. Overall, the food was very solid. Service was inadequate. Still top 3 Memphis restaurants for this genre of food.

Very good food. Everything was clearly made fresh. We mostly just split the appetizers, hummus, baba ghanoug, tabouli salad, falafel, labnah and grape leaves. The hummus and baba ghanoug didn't have as much flavor as I like, but they were all good, fresh and creamy. I'd never had labnah before, and it was a huge hit.

Veggie soup (hair to the left on plate). It was inside the soup.

(Germantown and Cordova Rd location) Ordered many items and most were good but vegetable soup had a hair in it and it didn't look like a hair from your head. This is the reason for 1 star. Prior to seeing the hair, I ate several spoonfuls and it was very oily and not much veggies. Mostly just liquid. The other items we got: samosas, veggie platter, chicken shawarma were all pretty good but not great. The good was overshadowed by the hair incident that happened at the beginning. The waiter said sorry but then came back with another cup of soup. I refused it. A cook or owner never came out and apologized. It felt like a "my bad" vibe and now let's go on like nothing happened. Servers were friendly and very attentive but didn't seem like experienced wait staff. For eg 1) She would not clear away the empty plates and platters unless you asked. And then she would only take enough for one trip and not come back and get the rest unless you asked again. 2) She told me to serve myself this Yemeni tea they have in canteen far away from our seat but I was inside a booth with someone on the outside so that would be very inconvenient to keep getting up for these very small styrofoam cups they had for us to use. She did end up bringing it to me 2x but it was like I'm doing you a favor. Not rudely at all but it was like this is how we do things there. 3) She never explained we are supposed to get and pay the check ourselves from the reception desk/register. We had to figure it out. Overall, the ambiance felt like a medium-clean lunch room rather than a really nice restaurant. For example, the napkin holder was in a tray that has a compartment for condiments like bottles of hot sauce or whatever. The compartments were all empty and there were lots of crumbs in there. So it seems like they are just not wiping things down regularly and diligently. The bathroom was the same - not dirty or very clean, somewhere in the middle but no paper towels. This place needs more attention on cleanliness (hair in food is not ok) and training staff a bit more. I will say there seemed to be a slight language barrier with our server so that caused some confusion with our communication. However I think she did the best she could and we tipped her.

I visited Queen of Sheba for breakfast with my family this past Saturday, and the experience was a little all over the place. BUT THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD I DO NOT CARE. We arrived around 9:30am for breakfast on Saturday. According to Yelp, they open at 9:00am. BUT they didn't really seem like they were open? It took a while to get menus and then it took a REALLY long time to get our coffees and food (at least 40 minutes? and the coffee came last, weirdly). A few minutes before we left, a woman showed up who seemed to be very service-oriented. It made me think that the gentleman taking care of us until she got there might be more kitchen staff not used to service? Service was definitely not strong. BUT THE FOOD. I love Middle Eastern food. And I LOVE Middle Eastern food for breakfast. But it's a bit harder to find a Middle Eastern restaurant that serves breakfast? If you are reading this review, the most important thing to take from it? QUEEN OF SHEBA SERVES BREAKFAST, Y'ALL. For the four of us, we ordered Egg with Foul (mashed fava beans with garlic, tomatoes, onion, and spices), falafel (2 orders, since it was 4 pieces/order), eggs with fassolia (white beans with garlic, tomatoes, onion, and spices), and hummus. The fresh bread was FANTASTIC. The foul and fassolia were amazing, and I would eat them at least monthly (weekly?) if I lived in Memphis? THIS IS WHAT I WANT FOR BREAKFAST. The falafel wasn't my favorite falafel ever, but it was good. And the hummus was very good as well. I really enjoyed every bite of food we ate at Queen of Sheba, which is good, because we waited A WHILE for it. The restaurant is definitely a bit of a dive with some mixed up decor and wall materials. And we were the only table eating breakfast (I think there were a few to go orders). But who cares? Because the food was amazing. When I'm back in Memphis to visit my brother in law again, I will want breakfast at Queen of Sheba again. But I probably wouldn't show up until after 10?

Really fast service! Our favorite was the hummus, soup, and tandoori! I tried the hot tea which was awesome for a rainy day, it was pretty sweet which my boyfriend loved. Overall Reasonably priced as well.

Very good food, very good tea. A Memphis must try restaurant. Ask for the the hot sauce pairs well with all of the good.

So much food! The food was outstanding. The server answered all the questions about the food. The food was excellent and there was so much of it. Minus one star because the table was pretty dirty and covered in spilled salt but maybe it was an off day. I would still eat there again. I didn't take a photo of it, but the hummus appetizer is amazing!

Wonderful food, fresh very hearty portions. Hummus and bread, chicken, beef lamb and rice with potatoes for two. It was enough for 4! Walked in on a thurs night at 8 and had great service . Highly recommend

Lamb fahsa

Ate here on Sunday and was pleasantly surprised! A coworker of my husband had recommended we try it. Our waitress was extremely helpful and kind! I asked her what was good and she recommended several dishes. It's cuisine from Yemen she informed us. We got the hummus which was delicious and the bread that came with it was different than anything I've had before. The soup that came with our meal was one that I would want anytime I'm sick. So filling and warm. Both of our meals were lamb based and generously portioned!!!! We had leftovers for the next day. It was fantastic. We will definitely be back!!!

My sis and I are fans of falafel. The plate came with a bit of hummus but we ordered more separately and are so glad we did! The hummus tasted so good we couldn't stop eating it! They put a little sumac in it and the tweak in the taste really grabbed all of us. Mom liked the falafel so much she wanted to understand what all was in it! We decided to try the fish fahsah and wow were we glad we did! We all agreed this is a must have on the menu for us, though we also want to try the lam version. It had such an incredible combination of flavors! We always like the kabobs and went for the chicken again. The plate includes chicken, rice, pickled vegetables and yogurt. We ordered to go, service as always was great.

Lots of options for parking and you can do a little shopping if you need any of the other shops in the complex! Service is great, the staff was very friendly. I was offered complimentary hot tea upon arrival and even got complimentary lamb broth soup and a small (but delicious!) salad with cucumber, lettuce, tomato with my entree. My first time there I ordered the half grilled chicken plate and hummus. The hummus arrived first and was beautifully plated and came with a huge piece of homemade and FRESH bread. Hummus was delicious and the bread was warm and cozy. The half chicken plate came out and let me tell you, I ate that food for the next three days. It was just little ol' me with a giant half chicken, probably a pint of rice, and a salad of veggies. It was soooooooo good. I love taking a bite of hummus with some rice and some chicken. It makes my heart happy. The next time I went I ordered the chicken kabob plate to try to scale it down. The kabob plate didn't come with the soup and salad, but that was okay because it was still a ton of food! Ten pieces of grilled chicken, a huge serving of rice, and some veggies on the side. I can't wait to eat it for the next few days. This place is easy, right off Perkins exit of the 40, lots of parking, and you can sit by yourself and have a nice long lunch. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing place on the inside, but when the food tastes like it does it doesn't even matter. Bonus it's right next to a cozy Yemeni coffee shop and a Mediterranean grocery store.

The restaurant is beautiful and relaxing inside. The staff were amazing and pleasant. I had been thinking about that wonderful spicy bread and had planned on ordering more to take home with me. I ordered the Kafta Kabob and the mint lemonade. The lemonade was so good and refreshing. My meal was good but the bread and rice was different. Instead of that delicious flavor on the inside of the bread it was split open and hard like a cracker. The spice wasn't there and the rice was also not as flavorful. I know some restaurants are having a difficult time keeping staff and maybe the cook is not as experienced, or maybe the head cook was off that day, or maybe they have to cut costs and instead of serving a full piece of bread with that lovely spice inside of it, they now have to split it in order to cut cost. I will show Grace because the rest of the food was good and I would recommend this place. I will return again and Just Maybe they will be serving that Good Bread! Let's Hope So!
