Yall, this place is really good! My first visit and I told the guy I was thinking about the chicken shawarma or the gyro, he said the chicken shawarma so I went with that. And it was definitely the right choice for me. Filled with chicken, garlic, lettuce, pickles and it was yummy goodness. I ordered a side of fries, they weren't anything special, but they were made right as I ordered. My friend ordered the falafel sandwich and the Fattoosh side salad. The salad is pretty big and can be shared and the Lebanese dressing was light and refreshing. She enjoyed her sandwich. Everything was prepared to order and made right in front of you. You can order to go or eat in. Service was quick and the place got busy quick. They also serve breakfast, but I didn't see a menu for that. If you haven't visited please do! This food was so good so much flavor, very tasty, very generous portions. My first time here and for me, it was definitely a hidden gem. I can't wait to go back and try more menu items, I was very impressed with the food and the hummus was the best hummus I have had here in Memphis, the rice was really good too. I ordered service for Delivery. I ordered a gyro plate and only received one pita bread. I decided not to order extra pita bread because I read on the site that it came with 'plentiful ' pita bread. I just had to send my husband to the store to buy store-bought pita bread, which is delicious probably better than theirs if this kind of negligence happens often. I tried to call the number provided multiple times and either it is not in service or I was hung up on, the email is also invalid. I'm seeing no way to contact the establishment. It sounds like a small problem, but when it happens to you and you have multiple people to feed, trust me, it's not a small problem. The food is awesome, that's why I hate to leave a bad review. Awesome find! Small, family-run Lebanese(?) restaurant. They were doing a brisk carryout business, but there are about 10 tables. Order at the counter, they bring it to you. Friendly and welcoming. I had kofta kebab plate. Two kofta skewers, hot, juicy delicious, rice, garlic potatoes, hummus, salad and garlic sauce, served with pita. Excellent, fresh and flavorful. $20 for dinner, not bad pricing. I travel to Memphis for work several times/year. I've seen Cedars before. Delicious . We tried the chicken shawarma and beef kebab plates. All parts were done like we like flavor wise hummus, yogurt, tzatziki sauce etc. many others around Memphis over or under season. Meats were cooked perfectly. Portions are large enough for sharing. The only downer was the bread didn't taste great. Bland and very thin. $53.00 for 2 plates and 2 drinks. I wanted to book a special luncheon for our interviewing applicants traveling in and wanted something besides BBQ. I went and sat down with Ashraf at the Cedars restaurant in Cordova. We planned out the menu and he assured me it would be good and he would bring it himself and on time. He communicated when he was on his way and helped me set up this AMAZING lunch. Everything, and I mean everything was so incredibly good. Our applicants, residents, and faculty raved about it and asked over and over "Where is this from"? I encouraged them to go try it again. Our plates arrived stacked high with rich, flavorful meat, the greatest garlic dipping sauce, delicious hummus, and the widest variety of bright yet vigorously seasoned vegetables I've had in Memphis to date. Straight from the top of the pile, dragged through every sauce, or beautifully arranged with veggies in a pita, every combination I made with the beef shawarma was fantastic. And so plentiful, I enjoyed two lunches I looked forward to each day. I cannot say anything negative about the food; however, the manager apparently cannot count or is forgetful in preparing the food. I live an hour away from Cedars, but was in that area today and stopped to purchase TWO sandwiches. After driving ONE hour back to my home to feed TWO people, I discovered I had only ONE sandwich. When I called to report their negligence in not properly filling the order, I young gal answered the phone. No matter what I said or how I said it, she could not understand what I was talking about. I asked for the manager and was hung up on. After finally getting my call through again, the same gal came on and said she would make me another sandwich. I suppose she wanted me to make a two hour round trip to get the sandwich. I guess dinner will be sparse tonight. Went for a walk at Shelby Farms and then had an amazing and very substantial lunch at Cedars. Got vegetarian plate which looked even better than pictures and was delicious! Eggplant was next level. My husband and I decided to try Cedars recently. Upon walking in, the front patio was covered in trash and garbage. We were the only customers at that time so not sure why someone hadn't cleaned it. It looked like garbage had been there a while. There was a faint smell of toilet deodorizer when we walked in so I was getting concerned but we were there so we trudged on. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The interior of the restaurant was clean. We were served our food in a timely manner. My falafel platter was delicious and I have no complaints. My husband had the chicken shawarma sandwich. He liked it but felt it was too heavily seasoned for his taste. Also, his potato's were cool and needed to be heated up. I'm on the fence about returning. While it was good, there are other restaurants,serving the same food, that are better maintained. I took pictures but didn't get the full extent of garbage on the patio because I didn't want to call attention to myself taking pictures. read more

We stopped in for a somewhat late lunch at Cedars and I must say I was impressed with both the service and the quality of the food. Since I had never been there before, I had asked what the man behind the counter would recommend. He gave me a sample of the beef schwarma, chicken schwarma and yhe gyro meat. All three were very good, but I ended up opting for the chicken shawarma. The plate, which was twelve dollars, offered a serious amount of food. I was impressed with both the quantity and, more importantly, the quality of the food. This dish would be something that I would recommend. However, next time I am there, I will probably try the gyro plate. All three of the meats are on Spitz slowly rotating and offered a very tender and juicy finished product. As I had said, anything you go with you really can't go wrong. I would definitely recommend this place. I will also say that I will be returning. read more
