I think the whole staff at Queen Creek Chiropractic provides an excellent "healing environment." They're friendly, professional, and experts in their fields. When I asked the receptionist why was it that only the dog, Freckles, wagged it's tail when it saw me enter the office & no one else there did that, she wiggled in her chair imitating Freckles, reassuring me how happy she was to see me. This made me laugh & helped me get better prepared to get the acupuncture treatment afterwards.
I went to Dr. Gunderman for neck/thumb/arm pain, edema, insomnia, and fatigue issues due to being diagnosed with hypothyroidism, lipedema (chronic bilateral cellulite) & lymphedema (water retention). I received acupuncture, massage & one foot bath. The acupuncture totally relaxed my neck & helped alleviate the body pain I had, with my insomnia now gone.
I received one foot bath and was shocked how much better I felt afterwards. I was tired before & not after getting the foot bath, & it left me feeling physically stronger. Afterwards, at the gym, I did 40 sit-ups where I usually did only 30 & pushed/lifted 10 pounds more weight on some of the machines than usual, as a result of getting only one foot bath detox!
At a different appointment, Dr. Gunderman did muscle testing on me using kinesiology that no one else in this area does who I know of. He alone, helped me separate my "ton" of nutritional supplements I previously purchased for various health problems, where I muscle tested weak on about half of them. This will save me money on future purchases. Due to my health problems, I did my own research online to buy the supplements that I now know need to be muscle tested for to see if my body tests strong or weak holding them, even if the bottles are unopened. My only medication I'm on is NP Thyroid & as one knows, Medicare isn't going to pay for any nutritionist to guide anyone with nutritional supplement purchases. Therefore, I do all my research online & look at the reviews before purchasing them. I now have more energy & feel better. I left my supplement list to be put in my file at his office. I found that simply drinking cranberry juice helps dissolve cellulite & acts as a diuretic BTW, with 1 cup to be mixed with 8 cups of water & drunk daily. Eating fresh pineapple is also helpful.
The massage therapist, Jose, at Dr. Gunderman's office, is better than any I've been to in this area. However, I think it would be more helpful to clients if there was a brochure up front that explains that Jose, the massage therapist, has about 800 hours of training & is skilled using multiple massage techniques to include lymphatic draining for edema. Jose found nodules under my neck that I wasn't aware of where later, I got the Dr. to do acupuncture on, which completely relaxed my tight neck muscles. Chiropractic care can alleviate symptoms of pain in the body, but it doesn't really address directly taking care of the nodules (muscle knots), that acupuncture & massage can help alleviate. I would like to see a little bit more literature up front that not only explains the benefits of massage, but how the massage therapist can be used to find the muscle knots to inform the Dr. on where to focus acupuncture treatments on. 1 in 9 women suffer from either obesity, cellulite, or a lymphatic drainage problem with symptoms of edema (water retention), that gets worse in the heat. Jose can help alleviate swelling caused by water retention using lymphatic manual drainage massage. A combination of acupuncture & massage also, helps the body heal faster from pain or injuries.
Even though Dr. Gunderman isn't a nutritionist, he does offer certain supplements for sale in his office he can muscle test a person for to see if they would be helpful.
The only "complaint" I have is that the office could use some "screens" to hide some of the clutter in the back rooms, or get some cabinets installed with some doors. The worst room is the massage room which could easily be remedied by putting a screen in front of the sink & the hamper with the sheets in it, and/or put an armoire in to hide the "clutter." The lighting could be adjustable w/full spectrum to suit individual tastes, along with some warm, amber soft light, with aromatherapy. A humidifier or aromatherapy machine with some Eucalyptus oil would be helpful for people with breathing or conditions that would also, help make the room seem a little less "stuffy." Of course, clients would need to be asked ahead of time if they'd like the eucalyptus oil to be used.
Queen Creek Chiropractic provides a combination of healing modalities that other chiropractor & acupuncture offices don't have. My body pain is much less, my stamina & physical strength has improved, I'm able to save $ on supplements, & Jose, the massage therapist, is the best! I always look forward to getting well taken care of by the Dr. & staff at Queen Creek Chiropractic to include being welcomed by "the office greeter," Freckles! read more
