Went in today and the guy at the register started blaring some political YouTube or radio show as I was digging in the short boxes. I tried to tune it out but it was impossible. I don't particularly care what your politics are, I like comics. If I don't know you I am not going to talk politics especially now and the complete lack of awareness of this guy was really something. Then another employee?/friend? came in and started talking all sorts of nonsense which certainly isn't appropriate for customers to hear. I put down the books I was going to buy and went next door to the Toy Department and spent my money there instead. I don't know if this store is owned by the same people who own the store on Montgomery road but if it is the owner needs to do something bc the store in Montgomery is great and this one is a nightmare. read more

I walked In with a few comics and the staff instantly shouted at me that they don't buy any comics whatsoever before I was able to say anything . I just Came in to ask if they had any value since I'm not a comic expert . He barely looked them over, said they were worth nothing and ignored half of what I said . Will not be coming back. Horrible customer service and very rude. read more

I came across ca comic book store in Fairfield on Wednesday, and although comic books aren't generally thought to be cool I think the store itself was. Queen City Comics, located in the Diplomat Village center along the Dixie Highway, has thousands and thousands of comic books in their store, all of the classics and a large selection of ones the average person--myself included--has never heard of. The extensive collection of comic books is alphabetized, making it very easy to find what you are looking for, but they also have a "This Week's New Comics" section to feature the latest comic books. Queen City Comics isn't limited to just the comic books, however, as they also have a lot of other collector's items. I saw t-shirts, posters/movie posters, actions figures, trading cards, and even a life-size figure of a comic book character (maybe the Green Lantern or someone), although I am not sure that was for sale. I don't read comic books but I think that Queen City Comics is a neat store. I am convinced they have (or have had) pretty much every comic book out there. From classics like Batman, the Adventures of Superman, and the Avengers to even Disney and Simpsons comic books, they have a huge collection of comic books and related collector's items, making it the perfect store for comic lovers. read more

I've been to this store numerous times out of necessity. There isn't a huge selection of comic book stores with good back issues in the area, and while this is probably one of the strongest, the customer service here is severely lacking. I was looking for some specific issues to complete a run of Wonder Woman I have, but I always browse around in every store I go to visit. Each time I'm at this store, the clerk does nothing but sit on his phone for the entirety of my visit. He does not ask if I need help finding anything, he doesn't greet me. His constant complaining on the phone with whomever is grating on any comic fan. There are many other comic stores in the area with much better customer service, and online retailers for whatever else you need. read more

I don't buy or read comics but I do know good customer service and let me tell you this place is totally lacking in that department! When I walked in to see about selling some comics I purchased in and estate sale the guy didn't even let me put them down before he very rudely informed me they didn't want anything I had. I went to QCC the other day for the first time and it will be my last. the guy running the place was not helpful at all and was a total ass to me and my gf. we asked him if he had a book we were looking for and he rolls his eyes and takes 2 steps, then points with his fat foot and says "bottom shelf" he acted like I should know where the book is and acted as if it was to much of an effort to show us. I'll stick with my regular comic bookstore, Mavericks from here on out. read more

Terrible customer service. Their website stated that they buy comic book collections. I stopped in last week with my collection; a stack of roughly 40 books. The jackass behind the counter said he wasn't interested before I could even put them on the counter. I asked how he knew that he wasn't interested and he said that he was only buying 10 or 12 cent cover priced comics. Funny thing about it was I had several in the middle of my stack. Working at a comic book store he should know not to judge a book by its cover. Maybe the lazy bastard should update his website stating exactly what he is purchasing instead of standing around and talking about Superman. You know, real-world kind of work. Not only will I not refer anyone to Queen City Comics but I will let anyone that I have a chance to tell how horrible QCC is. Awful. read more

They have a very big back issue selection, and their comics are well taken care of. This location really doesn't sell key iconic issues. They refer to the other location. Their prices are fair for your everyday back issue, but something of mild importance they'll squeeze you. Most people don't care about the first appearance of Marvel Zombies, which happened in Ultimate Fantastic Four 21 (maybe 22), but it warranted charging me $10 for it. They don't sell all that many gaming merchandise, mostly just comics. As you can assume from another review, 'customer service?' PFFT! I took my brother here once, and he was having a hard time remembering a certain story arc from the Punisher, I didn't know it, so he asked the guy working. He actually cut him off from asking the question, and just said, 'look kid, I'm not an encyclopedia of comics. Go home and research it yourself.' I. Understand his point as it would be near impossible for anyone to remember every single issue,and story arc from every existing comic. I get that, but there is a much politer way of handling that, especially with a kid. The store is ok, if you just go in get what you want, pay for it, and leave. Don't try to talk to anyone, and you'll do fine. read more

This shop provides a great selection of comics, and an open layout, however the staff is incredibly stiff and borderline rude. I went in with an inquiry regarding pre-ordering a comic and was treated as if I had three heads and was told I could come in the day it came out and "try to get it, but good luck". I walked out feeling put-off, as if my request was ridiculous. I promptly called Maverick's Baseball Cards shortly after my visit with Queen City, a comic book store down the street, and was floored by the outstanding customer service. I highly recommend giving Maverick's a chance over this hole in the wall. read more

Old fashioned comic store. Great back issue selection along with the newest books. If they don't have it in stock they will try and find it for you, just ask. Clean and well organized. I can find most anything I need. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Back issue prices are great. They also carry toys, some gaming cards and non-sport cards. I'll definitely come back and recommend this store to others. read more
