Awesome local comic shop, and the new ownership is a good guy. Reasonable prices, and a clean store.

Parker's Records & Comics

Came across Parker's while trying to kill some time waiting to meet some friends for lunch in…read moreMilford. I'd have to say overall I was impressed. Now first off, there are a lot of records here..a whole lot..they're completely stuffed into the bins that stretch up and down the length of the store. There is a huge amount to go through here. I would have to say that how stuffed all of these bins are with records makes it pretty difficult to browse. And if you're looking for anything past the 70's or 80's era..this isn't the place for you. The guy working there the day I was there..who I assume was the owner..was very personable and was quick to ask if I had come there because of their website or not. Apparently the store's website catalogues this plethora of vinyl and allows you to search for specific titles you may be looking for. He was very adamant about wanting to show me their site before I left so that I could know how to navigate through it and find any specific titles I was looking for in the future. I appreciated the info and it did seem to be a lot easier than trying to browse through this crazy collection. I still spent some time looking around and was able to find a title that I had been looking for. Prices here are on the higher end for used vinyl, but they really do put a lot of effort in only offering records in the most prestine condition. Most records are even graded on their condition and it's listed on the price tag. I was satisfied with my purchase, with the level of customer service I was provided (by someone who obviously know a whole lot about vinyl), and was impressed with the immense collection they had. I will definitely take the owner up on the option of searching their website for anything I might purchase here in the future. That way I can walk in and have my selections waiting for me..instead of having to search for hours to find records that they could have or not.

An interesting little shop on the edge of Milford. The owner is super into 45's and spent most of…read morethe 45 minutes I was there telling me story about buying and selling them, and about how he was recently robbed of several dozen rare ones. He apparently does 80% of his sales via his online store, and mostly sells the 45's. I hate flipping through 45's but there are a few rare ones I'm after, and lo and behold he had one and it was a reasonable price. I flipped through a bunch of the LPs there. Many of the shelves are so packed with records that you can't even physically flip through them, a huge pet peeve of mine. The LP stock is nearly all 50s-80s material, mostly in the classic rock, jazz and soul formats. He also said he would be selling the store and retiring soon, and that a new owner was buying all the LPs and opening a new record shop in the same location. It will be interesting to go back in a few months and see what's become of it under the new ownership. All in all a decent record shop. It didn't align with my tastes overall, but for those most interested in classic rock or old soul/R&B 45s, it's definitely worth a stop (or a search on their website).

Future Great Comics is a new local comic book shop in Hamilton. They opened up almost a year ago. I…read morecould not be more excited about it because the last time we had a comic book shop in Hamilton was when I was a small child, and then that quickly turned into a tobacco store of all things! It's so great to not have to travel at least 30 minutes away to get some fresh comics. The owner, Brian, is super very friendly and helpful. He is one of the nicest, coolest people you'll ever meet. He's not at all stuck up or rude like at other comic shops... *cough* Queen City Comics *cough cough*. They sell new comic issues and some back issues as well. If you don't see something you want, Brian will be more than happy to try to order it in for you if he can. He started carrying Invader Zim just for me and my husband. They also sell toys and collectibles, they have a good selection of Funko Pop figures. They sell graphic novels, manga, table top gaming supplies and t-shirts too. He is always getting some good rare stuff into the store that he found at flea markets or auctions. They also regularly hold costume contests, signings by artists, and other such events. They have a table top gaming space in the back of the store. I know he is trying to get a program started where people can come in, sit down, chill out and try out a table top game, and afterwards he will start selling the games in the store if people really take to it. Indeed, this is a godsend and a lovely, wonderful gem to have in Hamilton. Do yourself a favor and stop in, chat with Brian, buy some of his awesome merch, and maybe sit down for a game or two. This store deserves all of your business!! Don't let another comic book shop get away from Hamilton! Especially not an amazing one like this.

My daughters (7 & 9) are both very into Pokémon and are always specifically looking for V-Stars, VMaxs, cards that catch their eye, and especially cards that feature Evee Evolutions. They're really inquisitive on certain cards, prices, and which ones fit into their budgets and every time we've been the employees at Time Warp have been so. patient. to pull singles, flip 'em over, and provide prices for my girls. They're really helpful and very knowledgeable, especially when they find out what my daughters are looking for. The prices for singles are very competitive and the stock is pretty good. The unopened packs are a touch high, but they also have quarter machines you can take your chances with to wind up with decent cards. Big fan of this shop and I'm glad we found it!

Decent selection of cards, competitive prices compared to TCG and eBay. But be careful when buying…read morethe common/un common cards. Been there a handful of times and the way it's always worked out is any cards in the boxes are either marked with a price and if not the guys charged .25$ which is reasonable cause majority of those are damaged cards. Last time I went in the girls waited on me and was unsure on how to price them, I explained in the past if it wasn't marked I was always charged $.25 and her response was " I love that for you" then continued to make me sit there and wait 10 minutes as she price checks every single card like I was a liar. she then charged me $.50 - $1.00 each for damaged cards. There's tens of thousands of damaged cards behind the counter, it's very obvious they're just trying to get rid of them unless they're decent and price them out as they should, but making people sit there while you try and nickel an dime them out over common damaged cards is insane to me. I'll only buy something from now on from the guys that work there.

His style screams New York mixologist, but his drinks land like a blockbuster hit. Then there's Jamie--running the show with the calm command of a five-star general who traded the battlefield for a barstool empire. Brian himself said it's a dream to work with her, and after seeing her in action, I get it. She crafted a martini that wasn't just good--it was "call your ex and brag" good. Hands down one of the best martinis of my life. Now let's talk Highball itself. Tucked into Over-the-Rhine, this place oozes cool. Brick walls older than your great-granddad, art that whispers instead of shouts, lights that make everyone look ten years younger, and music that makes you want to stay way too late. This isn't just a bar. It's an experience. Between Brian's movie-star vibe, Jamie's masterclass in leadership (and cocktails), and the sheer atmosphere of the place, Highball deserves all the stars Yelp will let me give. Pro tip: order whatever Jamie recommends. Trust me--you'll thank me when you finish that martini.
