    Chipotle Chicken

We stopped here for dinner before a show at the Athenaeum right up the street. Our Friends, who made the rsvps, had been here before but it was our first time. It was a little strange that what I expected to be the entrance, wasn't, and what looked like an employee entrance towards the back on the right side, was the customer entrance. Started out snacking on a really nice salsa & chips. The menu was innovative and I had trouble deciding; however, I decided to try the Mexican meatloaf which is one of their most popular dishes. It was a huge plate of food with a big slab of meatloaf & veggies over mashed potatoes. It really was good, but I would have liked a smaller portion size. My hubby ordered a Chipotle Chicken that was also a huge plate of food. Would recommend

Was driving home and thought about getting fast food but drove by Que Rico and after years of passing and never going in, decided to pull over and dine in solo. I arrived early before the dinner crowd around 5:30 and sat down in a lovely dining room that made you feel like you weren't in Chicago. Complementary chips and salsa was fantastic to munch on while looking at the menu. Speaking of the menu, SO MUCH to choose from. I was about to order a traditional meal but then looked at the chalkboard that said "Mexican Meatloaf: Most Popular Dish!" and decided why not. As you can see in the photo, WOW! Tasted very similar to a traditional meatloaf and mashed potatoes but it definitely had a Mexican flavored kick to it. Highly recommend coming back. Good spot for a date night!

We are back for the second time, first time we got the queso and the brisket tacos and the tacos brought us back again. This time we tried the tortilla soup and the empanadas, absolutely amazing. The soup was BY FAR the best tortilla soup I've ever had, same with the empanadas. This will now be our GO TO place! 10/10 staff is always amazing, ambiance is fantastic, drinks are perfect, great price, and strong. Que Rico will NOT disappoint. THANK YOU THANK YOU

5** highly recommend. Patty is so personal and a total Rockstar. This should cover my 85 character minimum.

I have been wanting to try this place ever since they were featured as part of the barstool sports fund. Finally got a chance to enjoy and was pleasantly surprised by the service and portions!! Went with the steak burrito based off the servers recommendation. Not very authentic from a flavor standpoint but this thing was full of meat and no fillers!! If you're looking for a great local Mexican spot with great service and a friendly atmosphere... This is your spot! If you're looking for something more authentic and spicy there are other options. Will definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

Popped in last night not realizing it was Cynco de Mayo, and the place was hopping. Despite this, the staff was most accommodating and friendly, made us feel like the only table! The food was fresh, delish, and large portions! A funky, fun atmosphere to enjoy a great meal at reasonable prices.

Wanted Mexican cuisine and didn't want to travel too far and we ended up finding this place. It's super cute, on the inside it looks small and cozy we thought that was it but, when we spoke to our waitress she told us there was more space in the back and when it's not snowing there's it's open and sometimes there's live music. Our waitress was super friendly and great I'm really bad with names and all I can remember is V. She was very informative. To drink we went for the premium margarita, we over heard a lot of people order the strawberry drink, but the margarita was good. There is chips & salsa good salsas a little sweet but balanced out with house made chips. It's not spicy at all so we asked if the had a spicy salsa. They have a habanero sala and I will say it is delicious! It packs heat but it's so good. To start we had the: pollo empanadas- The empanadas we're one of my fav. Apps I will say. The empanada shell was crispy and the filling had all the right ingredients, it went so well with the habanero salsa. I ordered the Combo que rico - it come with chile relleno(stuffed pepper), mole enchilada(pork), carne asada in chimichurri. This dish does NOT disappoint. Out of the 3 my favorite was the chile relleno. I don't remember what kind of chile it was but, it wasn't spicy, it's stuffed with a lot of cheese and the salsa for it was absolutely yummy. The mole enchilada was very good and carne asada had chimichurri under it, wish it came with as side of the chimichurri instead of it being all under one part of the carne asada. In all a very great dish. My partner had the Beef steak tacos- the meat was good but he said that he felt like the tacos were lacking something. He did try it with the habanero salsa and said it was slightly better. There was no lime that came with the tacos so maybe that was it, but they were still good. Didn't have enough room for dessert. I definitely recommend this place all the staff is friendly and the food we have was great I would definitely eat here again.

Time to be seated was less than five minutes for a party of four around 2:20 PM on a Sunday; busier times or days enforce their 90 minute time limit policy per table. The food was well seasoned, wish I tasted it a little more on the meat itself, yet all the vegetables tasted crisp and fresh. If you are looking to have intimate conversations be prepared to speak a lot louder, the DJ booth by the front keeps it pretty lively, but difficult to hold conversations across the table. Open authentic Mexican soda is always refreshing, and if you're looking for a place that has soft serve margaritas this is one of them. If you notice and unusual wait time or slow service please make your choice accordingly as I started to notice it was a case by case basis like some of the previous reviews had mentioned.

Both adults and the VERY picky children in our group all enjoyed our meals. I ordered the green chicken enchiladas and the other adult ordered a chile relleno combo, which I also got to try. Everything was delicious and devoured by all! We were so full but the owner talked us into the chocoflan, and we did not regret trying it. It was soooo good! Speaking of the owner, the service was great. We really enjoyed how he and the rest of the staff were very courteous. It is a small establishment, and it gets a good amount of people, so I assume that there are waits during peak hours. I highly recommend Sabroso! And we plan to return the next time we are in the area.
