For some reason they wanted me to pay prior to her (maybe because they were going to do her pedicure). I paid and waited for that customer to leave behind me. Never happened. Let's just say she most likely received all her services she requested. I won't return because this was my first time not getting all the services I requested. I don't want to say they were bad but what's right is right. Had I gotten all my requests I would've given them another chance. I must say the price was reasonable and there were many nail polish colors.

They weren't rushed or annoyed about it either. The whole staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in, and I could tell right away that they take pride in what they do. Heidi, my pedicurist, was exceptional. She was kind, attentive, gentle and thorough, and she took her time with every step. I left absolutely (and literally) tickled lol. Clean, professional and really caring service. If you're anywhere near Meriden, this is the place to go, and ask for Heidi. I'll definitely be back.

Not too pleasant when you're sitting there for nails, and wearing fairly warm shoes. Two - the "quick dry" spray doesn't dry. Not to put your coat on isn't an option in the winter in New England. Having a place to dry your nails needs to be in place or atleast communicating to your client just sit here for x more minutes then we can check them. And lastly a smooth looking nail is expected when you pay for nails. I do my nails all the time at home the only different is that smooth finish you hope to achieve by a nail technician. The simple nail art did come out beautiful. Honestly, the salon itself is a no for me altogether with a less than average experience. I don't recommend it. I can be more specific of other issues but I honestly don't like leaving these kinds of reviews. I think the salon owner needs to pay more attention to details while there are far too many nail salons to choose from that capitalize on one of these issues. I was happy to try Peony- when I walked in I was immediately greeted by smiling faces, and very polite staff. The inside is nicely decorated, has very nice gray colored walls with white trim. The basins that they use for pedicures are nice, and I especially like that they use throw away, 1 time use plastic covers- so you don't have to put your feet into a basin that is just "wiped down." The polish selection is good, and they have all of them labeled with numbers, so it would make it easy to find "your polish" if you write down which one you used the last time you were there. I went in the middle of the day and I am currently VERY pregnant. The woman who took care of me was fabulous, I believe her name was Esther. She was polite, talked to me and engaged in conversation. She was especially nice when she painted little flowers onto my toes in honor of my "baby girl!" It was so sweet, and my toes came out great. Not only is the place clean and inviting, the staff is polite and they also are respectful. I also want to comment on the music- I am unsure what music they play but it is SO RELAXING. Not your typical "nail salon" music, it was so calming I almost fell asleep. They also give you a complimentary massage at the end while your nails dry. The staff always seems rushed just to get clients in and out quickly, which shows in the final result. For example, trying to remove your fingernail polish when getting a pedicure, how unrelaxing is that?! They also use a strange brush-on product to remove gel polish instead of foil and regular acetone, the process felt rushed and extremely harsh on my nails. The most disappointing experience was before my wedding. I had called in advance to schedule my appointment for my wedding nails, and when I arrived they even greeted me by saying, "You're the bride!" Unfortunately, just two days later, two of my gel nails chipped and another one chipped the day after that, which is unheard of for GEL! I ended up having to get them completely redone the day before my wedding, which was incredibly stressful and frustrating. Sadly, chipped gel nails had happened to me here once before this incident too, but I brushed it off at the time. Unfortunately, I gave them the benefit of the doubt when I shouldn't have. For the prices they charge, I expected much better quality and longer-lasting gel manicures.
