Very impressed by this place. We had our company party here. We had over 100 people there. The space was accommodating with room to spare. They dressed it up got put party. Staff was extremely courteous. The appetizers were plentiful and delicious. The wine was great too. We had many options. I didn't try the beer. Parking is street or in their lot. I had no issues. I think most people ubered to the event. It's centrally located but off the Main Street, so I never knew it was there! They've got wine tastings during the week and they're always at local events. We got the red flight as the reserve flight which I normally would of had due to it having a Cab, had wines that were mostly tobacco or cigar, which I don't care for. The red wine flight was only ok, I wouldn't go back based on them; or the girl that helped us. Plus, it was weird to be standing at a chest height bar top to taste. Came here recently for a school fundraiser benefit and am very impressed by my experience. I had never been here before but had kept hearing wonderful things about it from friends who have visited. As soon as I turned the corner, I was greeted with the bright, lit up sign. I had no idea this place existed off of Mills. Parking filled up fast but there is plenty of it off street. Just make sure not to block any driveways. The inside is huge. While I am in no way a wine expert, I can appreciate a nice glass of wine. I love the big bar in the middle and there also several hightop tables towards the back. There is some beautiful artwork on the walls for purchase as well. I loved the outdoor area with the seating but beware of the steep drop below. Would be a great spot for girls night out. Looking forward to checking out other future events here with friends. Quantum Leap Winery is located off of Virgina in the Ivanhoe District. The tasting room is open to purchase room by the glass and by the bottle. I recently popped in to pick up a few gift items for the holidays- they had a nice assortment of premade gift baskets and cool wine accessories. I also sampled through their current wine offerings, which were delicious. Especially great if you are a fan of red wines, but there are some lovely white wines to please everyone. Like their Facebook page for current events- they have a food truck night, spa night and offer lots of tastings and classes. Quantum Leap is a hidden gem in the Mills 50 district. And when I say hidden, I quite literally mean hidden. Your first visit to Quantum you may find the winery difficult to locate. (Hint: It's just off Mills and Virginia across the street from The Fresh Market plaza) I've been to Quantum twice now. Each time for very different reasons. But both experiences left me thoroughly impressed. My first experience attending one of their Friday night Wine Downs. The second Friday of each month, Quantum keeps it's doors open later and has a food truck come on location. It's a fun evening of delicious wines and awesome noms from local food truck. Plus live music Good times for you vino lovers and foodies alike. I attended with a few friends and we had a blast. Will definitely be back for that event. I recently found myself back at Quantum for a Christmas party for several local organization, one of which I am a part of (Ad 2 Orlando). They had the back room wine cellar opened, which I didn't have the opportunity to check out what I was there previously. The location is absolutely gorgeous. They even hold weddings back there. Very nice setup. A little about the wine: Quantum has some amazing sips. I don't consider myself a wine expert, but every variety I've tried there has been delightful. A gem in the hip neighborhood of Mills near Downtown Orlando. We had low expectations, as we weren't sure what it would be like, since wineries and Florida don't seem to go together. Boy, we were wrong. The grapes are grown in the West Coast, and brought to Florida to be made into wine. The tasting fees are super cheap ($5 for a flight or $1.25 per pour). We tried most of them, our favorites being the Pinot Noir on tap and the Chardonnay. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and gave us great food recommendations. Would definitely come back. They also mentioned it was dog-friendly, so we'll be taking advantage of that once it's cooler. read more

I love this winery! While they may not have the largest selection of wine, the ones they do have are delicious and cover a wide range of taste. Also, the staff is very knowledgeable about the product and super friendly. What I love most about this place though is their love of animals. They are dog friendly, which is always a plus for me, and they also pair up with the pet allowance to raise money for animals. Would highly suggest stopping by for a glass it two with friends. I love the concept behind this place. Really decent wine without the carbon footprint in one of my fave Orlando neighborhoods. Be warned, their tasting room hours are VERY irregular. Stopped in for a quick flight of ciders before heading to the botanical garden about a mile away. Sampled the original, strawberry, and bourbon barrel ciders. All three were delicious! The original was more of a semi sweet and finished so nice. The strawberry was almost a little smoky, not overly sweet at all! Finally the bourbon barrel was definitely barrel aged but very tasty. My husband and I have wanted to come here for years and finally got here. The staff here did a really nice job educating us on their process and wine tasting. Their wine flight samplings are $5 for either a red or a white wine where you get to sample 4 different wines. I am SO impressed by this place! What a gem! My wife and I are admittedly wine snobs. We try not to be too annoying about it, but sometimes we can't help it. So when she found this place randomly on instagram we decided we HAD to go, but also had quite low expectations. We went last Friday on their monthly "Wine Down Friday" which is on the last Friday of every month. They have extended hours, live music and a food truck outside for this event. When we arrived we were shocked to see how big it was! We were expecting a small, bar sized establishment. But this place is massive with a huge tasting room, long patio and good sized barrel room. It was also PACKED. But because the place is so large, it didn't really feel it. You had plenty of room to walk and it was no problem getting a spot at the bar. The room was loud thanks to the live music, but the band was good and it was easy to escape outside of you wanted to give your ears a break. At the bar we spoke with Chris (I think) who gave us a run down of how they make their wine. It was very interesting and worth the listen. Then he gave us an overview of what they were pouring that day along with the flavor notes. I started with a glass of the Panthers Tale which is an excellent, medium bodied red. The wife had the Syrah, which was also quite good. Over the course of the evening we tried a few more reds and we enjoyed everything we tried. Good wine, good ambiance, good band, nice people - there is nothing bad to say about this place. We will be back many times over!! read more

Stopped in for a winery tour and tasting. They have a marvelous staff. They are very friendly, happy, chill and helpful without being in your face. It is amazing, they pour your wine, answer your questions, disappear while you savor the section and reappear just before your glass is dry. True magicians. The tour was educational and worth taking the time for. The showroom is beautifully decorated and has welcoming seating. Well, we had no idea what to expect when we walked in here. We were eating at a nearby restaurant and as we walked in, my wife said, "Jeff! Look!" There through the trees and across the parking lot was a sign that said Quantum Leap Winery. Of course, the first thing that went through my head was a bunch of wine named things like "Ziggy" on racks surrounded by a ton of nerd paraphernalia, and all of the people working there regardless of gender or outward appearance would wear name tags that all say "Sam". Hmm. That's a good idea. Well anyway, it's not that place. I also didn't ask why not. When we got there, we were initially taken by its subtle beauty inside. The floor is open and airy, and the large bar area can support a lot of customers without feeling crowded. The people manning the bar are very friendly and of course way more knowledgeable about wine than we are, so we got some great tasting tips. So you know where we're coming from, if someone would have asked us about our opinions on a given wine, our answers would have invariably involved words like "red", "grapey", "good", or "ass" but never would you hear the word "bouquet" escape our lips. Because that's flowers, or something. So we tried a red wine tasting, a selection of three red wines that came with great explanations and notes on what to look for, all of which was appreciated. By the time we were done, we left with 3 bottles of Kaley's Red, a wine named after the resident Australian Shepherd, and a percentage of the proceeds of which go to the SPCA of Central Florida. Then, for buying the three bottles, the cost of one of our tastings was deducted from the bill. Everything about that is fantastic! There is a great looking room in the back for parties that can be rented out, and it looks really nice; it actually makes me want to make up a reason for a party just so I can get that room. One of my most favorite finds recently! On a random Thursday meeting with my best friend we happened to be in the area and decided to try out this (new to us) winery I found. We walked in having no idea what we would find and were so pleasantly surprised. The staff behind the bar is so knowledgeable and friendly, the wine is DELICIOUS, and the atmosphere is perfect. I can't wait to go back for another round and spend more time here. What a great addition to the Mills area and Orlando in general. read more

So I really don't know much about wine. I just know what I like, which is usually reds and anything on the sweeter side. After visiting Quantum Leap I have a new appreciation for other styles. Me and my friends decided to give the mix tasting a try, which includes a 4oz pour each of Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Merlot for $5(!!!!). I was surprised the dry Riesling ended up being my favorite. I even ended up buying a bottle. The employees were very helpful and gave a lot of background information on the wines we were drinking, as well as Quantum Leap's overall process. One of the employees even commiserated with my friends about their diabetic cats over some delicious sparkling rose. As an owner of two rescue dogs, I'm glad to see they support them as well. Quantum Leap is now on my list of must visits when I'm in the Mills50 area. read more

I was invited to a tasting at Quantum Leap Winery last night. I have to admit that I was skeptical. I mean, we all know Florida isn't exactly known for it's great wine. When I think of wine produced in the southern states, I'm turned off. I do not like sweet wine, and that's what you get from the type of grapes that thrive in the southern United States. However, QL is producing some really nice wines. I really enjoyed Kayley's Rescue Red, part of the proceeds go to the SPCA and the Cabernet Reserve, which I would put up against any mid range California Cab. So, how are they able to make such fine wine in Orlando? The secret is they aren't using Florida grapes. The team at QL gets the grape juice from all over the world and then do the fermentation and blending onsite. Why didn't I think of that? Being environmentally conscious is important to the folks at QL. Huge food grade bags are used to deliver the grapes to the winery and then some of the wines are packaged in kegs which offers a lower carbon footprint than bottles. I would recommend this place to anyone that likes wine. I think you will be impressed with the folks and the wines at QL. I suggested that they should call their next wine Ziggy. :) read more

It's so nice to have a nearby winery. Even though there aren't any vineyards onsite, (they do have one in Apopka, who knew!), they have a huge cask room for fermenting in-house. The same room also doubles as an event room for private parties, and you can take a tour through this room as well. Start off with a sample of wines, the owners will explain each variety and what you might like to pair it with, and will also give you a tour of the building. There's a nice outdoor area to congregate with friends over wine, as well as a very large, comfortable indoor area. Wines are by sample, by glass, by bottle, or you can take a few bottles home with you, if you like. A very friendly, gentle collie-type dog (Kayleigh?) will greet you when you come in, she's very sweet. All in all, this is a pretty awesome addition to our area, and they didn't mind us asking where Scott Bakula was. read more

A winery? In Orlando? Quantum Leap is hidden away near the Virginia/Mills intersection, and I actually discovered it randomly when running the Urban Trail. The concept is a little different from vineyards that grow their grapes locally. Quantum Leap imports grapes from other regions - California, South Africa and Italy for example - then does the fermenting and bottling on site. I drink reds and Florida grapes typically make way-too-sweet reds, so this made me happy. I recommend taking the tour as you will get some really cool insights on the winemaking and bottling process from the owner. Quantum Leap's variation on the process is said to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of winemaking, as shipping large cubes of un-fermented grape juice is much more efficient than shipping that same quantity of bottled wine over long distances. Enough about the process, though... the winery itself is a nice weekend hangout, with an outside patio and inside tasting room. You can order a tasting (which works out to be a very nice flight, with generous pours) or a glass of one of their many wines. If you buy three bottles, they'll refund the cost of your tasting. The Kaley's Rescue Red (a red blend named for the winery dog) is an excellent value. Bottles were available between the $10-40 price points. Hours for the tasting room are only Thurs-Sat - I wish they were open a bit later hours on Fri/Sat, but they've had some recent wine-downs and art events that extend the hours. This also looks like it'd be a great venue to rent out for a private party. read more
