For years I had refused to pay for any sort of pool service and wanted to do it myself. Unfortunately, I am terrible at pool maintenance and the pool went green for the nth time a couple of months ago. I decided to look around at different services and settled on Quan's Pool. I wish I had hired these guys years ago. They do good work. In less than a couple hours, they had gotten rid of all the algae and had fixed up the plumbing(the pump was not keeping prime). The pump now works great and the pool has been crystal clear ever since. They have good communication. John is responsive with texts, lets you know exactly what he's going to do, and is up front with the costs(which are very reasonable). They are knowledgeable. My wife booked Quan's pool to service our horribly neglected "in ground" jacuzzi. The pool was a mess. After traveling extensively and leaving it without a cover or enough chemical it had basically turned into a swamp. We called Quan's pool on a saturday morning and by 1pm he was there fixing our jacuzzi. It needed to be completely drained, acid washed and scrubbed top to bottom. The pump filter also needed servicing. He was done in about 3 hours and our jazcuzzi looked good as new. He was extremely nice, professional and offered some very helpful tips for preventative maintenance. His service was also very affordable. After reading the overwhelming positive reviews of pool service by Quan's I called them on a Friday afternoon with a leaking (more like a gushing) pool motor. John answered immediately. I explained my problem, he asked me what city I was in (FV) and then asked me to text photos of the area around the motor (for access), the motor ID (seal and gasket info) and where the leak was relative to the motor (some confirmation of the problem). I've had many encounters with pool repair types over the years and not ONE has asked for this info before coming over. I'm thinking this guy is on the ball. Why waste time? Then he scares me. He said they don't guarantee the work. I'm thinking what is he saying? Who does this? He then explains that if the motor's shaft is bent, changing the seals will not solve the problem. You will need a new motor. OK, I get it. I asked and received an estimate for the job of changing the seals and gasket, hoping that I won't need a new motor ($$$)! We agree on the following Monday afternoon. John shows up as promised and gets to work breaking down the motor. About half way through the job, I get a knock on the door. Oh shoot, I'm not going to get the shaft am I? He shows me the shaft and spins it. I see that it's slightly bent. But, he tells me not to worry, even with the slight wobble, the motor should last awhile. He said I will know the motor is going when it begins to make loud noises. OK, dodged that bullet, for now. He replaces the seals and gasket in about an hour. Ran the pump for 8 hours with no leaks. It's quieter with the new seals, no doubt about it. I'm very impressed by Quan's and will not hesitate to call him in the future. Thanks, John! read more

Just getting around to this although the service took place a while back. I had what I thought was a very complicated issue as there was no pressure registering at the gauge on top of the filter canister. There had been some strong winds and in the process of cleaning the pool I found some plastic sheets/bags that had blown in and the bottom of both filter baskets (pool side and between the motor and pump) were torn through. I assumed I had plastic sheets/bags and additional leaves, etc. clogged in the water line going back to the pump from the pool as well as probably a clogged impeller. I had Leslie's out (bad decision) on a previous occasion and they basically had to disassemble the motor, blow air through the lines, etc., etc., and charged a lot. I decided to call Quan's. He came out and literally solved my issue within 15 minutes and even took the time to show me exactly what happened and how I could fix it myself the next time. His cost was pennies on the dollar compared to Leslie's and he is so much more competent at the job than anyone from Leslie's that we have ever had out. I couldn't be more happier with the quality of service and value I received for the price. I highly recommend this company. They are busy but Quan will keep in contact with you via text messages on your phone. You won't be disappointed! read more

I have a pool which I barely have time to maintain and wanted to hire John to do a weekly clean and balance to ensure the water was safe enough for my 2.5 y/o son to swim in. He came by, gave me some great tips and pointers and reassured me that I could handle the pool maintenance myself. I was happy to pay him for his very well priced monthly cleaning fee but he insisted I didn't need him. I told him I'd try it out for a while but would definitely call/hire him if things got dicey. Unbelievable customer service! I spoke to John on the phone for about 20 minutes today. Here's the thing.. it's a Saturday morning, and he's on vacation. John gave me excellent advice on my new pool. I'm a new pool owner, and I've been maintaining my pool on my own, mainly to teach myself how to adjust the chemicals, filters, troubleshooting, etc. But, I am realizing it is a considerable amount of work, and there are some things I don't quite understand. He gave me a lot of really practical advice on controlling algae during these hot sunny summer days, and he was very honest about some things that he just didn't know (mainly because he would need to actually see my pool to figure it out). His monthly maintenance seems very reasonably priced, but I haven't really asked around to get other quotes. My pool has excellent water movement and flow, but the filter pressure seem a bit high. This despite me completely changing out my filter grids with new ones. He immediately suspected what the issue was, and gave me advice on how to set-up my pool to redistribute the water flow more evenly and lower my filter pressures. Being a new pool owner, I'm not quite sure how to make those adjustments. Since he is on vacation, he couldn't come over to help me now, so he gave me the phone number of another local pool professional that he trusts. Wow!! I'm sure it's a competitive business, and not a lot of people would potentially lose a customer to the competition. I appreciated all his help on the phone today. Service like that is (sadly) very rare nowadays. I'm sure he has plenty of business, and doesn't need mine. But, I'll give it to him anyways! I have had a pool man for 12 years and up until recently I had to find a new pool service because the pool man I had suddenly stopped returning calls or accepting any contact, (he also wasn't cheap). I then got someone from Quan's Pool to service my home and I have never been so satisfied with a pool service. The person who serviced my pool arrived just when they said they would, was polite, respectful, very courteous, and got to work right away very efficiently. He began by explaining to me what he was going to do, and what sort of work should be expected from a good pool service. He explained to me very clearly, and detailed in a way very easy to understand. He finished his work very quickly and had done an excellent job. He walked me through what he did and showed me pictures of the differences. I last pool man had left my pool green and moldy, and I can not recall the last time if ever he cleaned my pool filter but Quan's pool left my pool looking brand new and showed me my cleaned filter and explained to me the importance of it. Before the man left he even gave me expert advice on how to maintain my pool and take of it. But he is kind enough to explain many things about pool maintenance over the phone. I explained my situation. He listened. Based on my plan for renovation, he gave his recommendation, including asking for pool contractor to provide discount. He mentioned what price I should be able to get from other pool cleaner, and many other details, without rushing me, even though he himself knows that he is not going to do any regular maintenance due to distance.
