JC Tefft Oil truly has some of the best oil prices in the state of Rhode Island, which is one of…read morethe reasons I chose them for my deliveries. I'm new to New England--I was born and raised in Minnesota--and I moved into my apartment in November 2025. I scheduled my first oil delivery with Tefft in December and paid $281 for 100 gallons. The process was smooth. A very kind representative (whose name I unfortunately didn't catch) helped me through email due to phone issues at the time. She collected my address, phone number, and payment information, and the delivery went perfectly. However, my second experience was the complete opposite. I emailed a request for delivery on Saturday, February 7th, and later reached someone by phone that same day. She scheduled me for February 11th-- the earliest available date--and told me she couldn't quote a price yet. She mentioned I could call the day before or day of to check the price, but she never said I needed to call back to confirm it. She verified the last four digits of my card, so I thought everything was set. On February 11th, no delivery arrived. My tank was still low, and I spent Wednesday night and Thursday morning playing phone tag. When I finally reached someone Thursday afternoon, the same representative told me she had never scheduled my delivery because I "didn't call back to confirm the price." At no point was I told that I had to confirm the price before they would deliver--only that I could call if I wanted to know it. I had clearly scheduled 100 gallons for February 11th and confirmed my payment information. Because of this miscommunication, I won't be using this company again. I understand the challenges during busy winter storms, especially for one person handling high call volume, but the lack of clear communication is unacceptable. I was able to schedule another delivery with them for tomorrow, February 13th, and she again confirmed the last four digits of my card. I'm hoping it actually arrives this time. Please consider hiring more staff--one person juggling all incoming calls for oil deliveries simply isn't enough.

The work was very well done, and the finishes were the best I have encountered in Humboldt. Ours wasn't a simple remodel, with both the demo and the level of build (herring bone tile, heated floors, and seamless glass) requiring great skill. Once completed, we were very pleased with the results. Even after the job was completed, Shawnee always answers the phone and makes himself available. I recommend Mad River Construction highly if you are looking for a creative and skilled construction company.

We had a pleasant chat and I gave him an ice cold water. He said he was helping my neighbor out. I kindly ask if he could please smooth out the dropped asphalt, that lay in front of my own driveway. Without hesitation, he went above and beyond; and would take no payment. Off he went fixing the road leading to my neighbor. I, dressed in shorts and wearing flip flops, i brilliantly fell into an OCD episode and began using my pocket knife to cut back some long thorn branches shooting out into the roadway being worked on. I lost my balance and fell backwards right in the thick thorn bushes. I was pretty much out of sight, and stabbed profusely; every move was painful. I pulled out my cell phone and dialed several times inside my house for help. LOL- "Help I've fallen and can't get up" just like the commercial. I then blew the dog whistle I had around my neck to call our rescue dog Leo, a Siberian Husky. Fortunately for me Frank Turrifi and my neighbor heard m whistle. The two of them pulled me up and out !! I should have been awarded the dumb-ass award of the day !! BOTTOM LINE: Based on the kind of person Frank was to me; I see zero reason his company would not successfully perform any job you may have. Thank you Frank.

I was recently working on a local job site in Stonington, CT doing IT work and overheard my Forman…read moretalk about how impressive a job A&L Plumbing's work was that he gave me an insider lesson on what's good and what's bad. He told me that in life I might need to call a plumber some day and you better know some basics before signing a contract with someone. He began to give me a grand tour of all the plumbing that A&L Plumbing did on the job site and kept telling me how clean, orderly, and efficient they are. Just from the looks of it, I would have to agree. Being in IT, I know when little things are out of place and its the little things that make all the difference. Let me tell you (not knowing much about plumbing), these guys had everything in place and in an orderly fashion. Properly labelled pipes, state of the art products and from the looks of it, had tons of experience in this area. I work with modern technology all the time and would have to say that when the Forman showed me around and what types of plumbing technology they were installing, I was blown away! I had no idea all the tech that is now involved within this area. I thought the profession was kind of behind with technology and sort of playing catch-up... I had no idea the setup they that was involved with some of the plumbing equipment. Remote-in with your phone to adjust the temperature of your water heater and analyse just about any stats you want? WHAT? Seriously, Yeah, these guys know their S#it. He began to tell me these guys are the ones to call even if I had a small plumbing concern and that they are the most reasonably price contractors around. In addition, handed me a their number on a scrap piece of paper, should I ever need them in the future. None, the less my friend recently bought a house and they happened to call them and they did all the plumbing in their house ha! Crazy! They began to tell me how nice of a crew they are and how efficient they were with the installation upgrades and their requests, that even they recommended them to me. That's twice now from two different sources that when the time comes for me, I will certainly call these guys and have them do all my plumbing needs. I would not feel comfortable having someone else do the work, when my closest friends tell me they are good. Seeing first hand what these guys can do on the job site I was working at, it is certain I will call them. I had to write this review because I feel they deserve a good review seeing how hard these guys work and the quality of work that it would be nice of me to express my thoughts online. Call'em up, it is better than going to the big overpriced box plumbers.
